- meatmcguffin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+27You do know that with boot camp we now have more games than you, right?
My Windows partition is nothing more than a glorified games console, just as it should be :) - meatmcguffin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17For those of you keeping score at home:
Mac users that care that macs have few games : several
Windows users that care that macs have few games : several million
It's like you idiots thought we bought a mac to play games and then realised it doesn't have any. Try again. - meatmcguffin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14http://www.apple.com/macpro/
Pretty good thanks. Try something relevant to this decade will you? - macbookpromat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15Tycho7
I don't know if your scores are right, but in that case,
Macs: 6342 + 51 = 6393 games
Windows: 6342 games
Tycho7: 1 dude who hasn't heard of Boot-Camp - podgey22, on 10/12/2007, -11/+22Jawsh91, I'm with him.
People misusing words *should* be corrected otherwise they'll go through life making the same mistake and might be made to look really silly. If they (and other people that think that use of "addicting" is fine) can learn something from Digg, that's a bonus. - se1zure, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9The icon is beautiful! The UI is sweet also.
The game isn't half bad either. - Viremia, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12One of the thing that bothers me about Macs is that, even for relatively simple programs, there is very little freeware compared to linux.
- mikev, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Fun game...and the UI is awesome!
- rpphoto, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8These are the most addicting comments I have ever read on my Mac!
- Jawsh91, on 10/12/2007, -23/+28@neiltc Do you mean shut the hell up?
As in "Do we actually care about his grammar mistakes? Shut the hell up." - miyamotofreak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I got 378. Oh and a tip for those at work, press B at any time to go into "boss" mode. :)

- Lounger540, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6"My PC is still cheaper than your Mac and I can play better games."
Yeah, my Macbook Pro was more expensive than your PC and it runs Final Cut Pro.
See how this is relavent to me and you don't care. Well the same goes for you and your games. - mouthster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Tried the demo, fun game. 14.95 seems a bit steep though.
- NicP, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I got 998, I can't seam to break the 1000 mark, and my free 60 minutes is soon gonna expire :(
- meatmcguffin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Well considering most of Linux software is FOSS, what did you expect?
Also, its not strictly true. At least half of my 200 mac apps are freeware/open source and some of them are the finest apps on any platform; Adium, Handbrake, Mac The Ripper, Teleport and Growl have yet to be matched by any Linux/Windows software. - meatmcguffin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4@victorycig
Could always try macupdate.com and use the filter at the top of the page to only show free apps.
@psxman
I forgot that handbrake runs on pretty much anything with circuitry. The rest are 100% mac though. Definitely give growl a shot, it changes the way you use a computer - victorycig, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@Viremia
I agree. I switched last summer, and I've had a harder time finding free Mac apps than I ever did finding PC apps. Of course, this may be because I'm new to the Mac universe, and don't yet know the sites and forums to check for good, free apps. Digg certainly helps! - WoWKodos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2One of the challenges of the game is to find open slots for the pie pieces you are given. Since you cannot rotate pieces, you must plan ahead where to place them and try to keep space open as much as possible. The longer you go without clearing a circle, the more likely it will be that you will not be able to place a piece.
If every piece could be placed, you would never lose a life and the game would go on forever ;-) - ShrimpCrackers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think people like you give Apple products a bad name. The commercials and comments from fanbois like you reeks of snobby elitism.
People like you think that your choice of operating system or hardware makes you better than others. No amount of beauty, nice clothes, or expensive accessories is going to make personalities like yours bearable. - Quix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I, for one, would like to see a Mac port of Supreme Commander.
Or a Starcraft sequel... - roostishaw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I just got 246... good or should I not be talking?
:D - cvrefugee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2PCs are for poor people? These "poor people" spend more money on a f*cking video card than an entire Wii or Xbox 360 system. Don't hate just because your Mac mini can only play Bejeweled.
- ShrimpCrackers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I know I'm going to get dugg down by the fanatic Mac users even though I'm typing this from a top of the line 17" MacBook Pro...
Lets be realistic. This game is $15. Thats over-priced. For $20 I could pick up a whole slew of great games for the PC like Oblivion. Newer games like Supreme Commander rule.
Another thing is that Windows users DON'T CARE about the games for Mac. The games that come out of the Mac are mostly quaint. Stylish maybe, but fun factor is low. The idea is you can run a game straight through with a Windows machine that will heavily outperform a similarly priced machine on a Mac. I can't name a dozen games that came out for the Mac exclusively that I'd care to play on my Windows machine. Marathon? Myst? No thank you.
I had a choice between spending $3000 for a 17" MacBook Pro with a cheap ATI X1600 or $2500 for a super powered Dual Core 2 Duo with a 7950 GTX video card or a 2500 M Quadro at PowerNotebooks.
But I'm a design buff so I chose the MacBook Pro. I get kicks out of designing with Illustrator and Fireworks which works fine and Final Cut Pro isn't anything versus Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects. I love games but I have a desktop for that already. When it comes down to it, I brought the MacBook Pro because I thought it looked pretty and didn't care if it has the ability to play the latest games. - mikochu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The game is addictive.
- alej744, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Oh yeah...! B)
- meatmcguffin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@cvrefugee
Holy hell are you misinformed. There are quite a number of games on a mac, mainly shareware and ports of the most popular Windows titles but regardless this still means that there are more games available to Mac users if you use boot camp. Plus you can upgrade the video card on most tower macs from the last ten years.
"Sucks for you."
No it doesn't suck for us you ***** moron. The whole point is that people buy macs to get work done not to play games. I'll repeat that for you so you understand : People DO NOT buy macs for gaming so it doesn't matter how many games there are. Got that?
Grow up and stop thinking that computers == gaming - mikev, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3IMO you get what you pay for. Most shareware on the Mac is great in that: you get good community support, as long as developer help, you get new features in almost each build, and last but not least...support individual developers.
- WoWKodos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You have some skilz...
Keep practicing though! - mikev, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2o_O Excuse the illegible reply. I meant that with most shareware mac apps, you get great support (both from the developer and community), as well as frequent updates.
- psxman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Can't speak for the rest of them, but HandBrake runs on GNU/Linux.
On another note, it took me three damn tries to get past the stupid captcha. (I think I can get this one) - ronaldpoi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't know what to do when a piece that i already have in all the pies comes... i can't put it anywhere and it make me lose lives... does someone knows the answer?
- sparkrainfir, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2@lounger540
nice point! - joeycerone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2you can just download the demo, and delete the preferences and cache files when your 60 minute trial period runs out, and then it brings you back to 60 min demo time again.
:) - manitoba98xp, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3@cvrefugee
If all you want to do is play games, then by all means get a Windows PC. I believe in the right tool for the job. Windows for games and specialized Windows-only applications (though the latter is great through virtualization, that still requires Windows), Macintosh for multimedia work, and my preference for normal desktop work, and Linux (occasionally BSD) for servers.
Some might not agree with me, but I believe in the best tool for the job: your choice is Windows. Besides, I could honestly care less what OS cvrefugee uses. - nandabanaotakun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's a ridiculous statement. There's a reason people keep complaining about the sheer volume of Mac Top 10 Freeware lists on digg... there's a lot of great freeware out there for Macs.
@victorycig
Sites that filter down freeware to the best content:
iusethis
freemacware
macapper
coolosxapps - ronaldpoi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Seems like you're right... =(
- klaupacius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I like!
- stalefries, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Really? Just for this game?
- neotamashii, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Gosh darn it! I really don't need to get addicted to yet another time killer - and this game will swallow time like nobody's business.
I am consistently impressed with what comes out of the factory. You guys are incredible. - Coreguy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2is there an MS-Windows version?
- rjghwruigvyoy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Switching to Mac just to play this game.
I love Apple - m98076, on 01/28/2008, -0/+0This is interesting.
http://websuduko.blogspot.com/ - dudez12, on 10/12/2007, -12/+12This is the most addicting game I have ever played on my mac!
- cvrefugee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Who is talking about Final Cut Pro? My computer is almost three years old - I installed a new video card and now I can play the latest games. Try doing that on a three-year-old Mac. What? You can't? You mean to tell me that BootCamp only works with the newer Intel-based Macs?
Sucks for you. - joeycerone, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3I'll give it a try.
- iFox, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Great stuff, pity i'm not gonna buy it. I'm hella good at it :-D |-D
- yichen, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2anyone has played this game more than 60mins but not deleted it?
- Markpdotcom, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3I'm also with neiltc13... these people need educating! Its the same with Lego/Legos! Come on people its not that difficult!
- cvrefugee, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1So what games are Mac-exclusive? How could you possibly run more games on a Mac (via Boot Camp) than a native XP machine?
Oh, and I mean REAL games - not Zork or puzzle games. -
