- Florian, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Oh, there is no Windows section. Duh. Well the surveys should have been in a section that applied equally to all platforms.

- highpass, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Gold award for most constructive comment ever. Well done, your parents are so proud!

- anonydigg, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Bury or not to bury?
I want to... But I wont. It'll make the poll inaccurate. - stalinvlad, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5SuSe didn't recognise my wifi card
And HL2 - machineking, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I'd use Linux if I could play my games on it. Gonna try an Ubuntu file server early next year.
In the meantime, I'm gonna try VMWare with Ubuntu... - cdmarcus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Okay, I doubt that more people truly use Mac than Windows here. I'm guessing that people don't want to admit it, or something. BTW, I use Linux.
- scantling, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3i use windows xp and 2000 pro my servers have ubuntu and redhat

I USE WINDOWS: 720 diggs http://digg.com/apple/I_USE_WINDOWS
I USE LINUX: 641 diggs http://digg.com/apple/I_USE_LINUX
meh... hardly conclusive. - darkein, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Windows, not because I love gates, but it is a nice system for games and music production :)
- azngrl0330, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Similar poll idea: Firefox, Opera, or IE?

- robohoe, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Digg went down to the slashdot level :(
- highpass, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Forgetting the other nuances, even the audio plugin architecture of OSX (AU) has a huge advantage over VST, even VST 2.0. Check the following link for more info, the post from 'marc' explains, in depth, the problems of the VST system:

Windows is still a good OS for producing music, as long as your DAW is setup correctly. The difference being, OSX is ready for meaty production, out of the box, and Logic is by far the most productive & quickest means I have come across when it comes to getting that tune out of your head and into a sequencer.
You are quite right in saying Windows is a nice system for gaming, though. - cubs2234, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1im stuck using windows
sigh. - jarielbs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I use Windows at Home and Work but mostly use Linux at work.
- kd1s, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My office desktop is Windows XP Pro, running VM Ware and under VM Ware I've got instances of Suse Enterprise, Ubuntu, and Debian running for testing purposes.
At home it's Windows XP Pro with VM Ware and Kubuntu and Red Hat. So I use both Windows and Linux. And who knows, maybe I'll port the Mac OS-X on soon. - unitedstatians, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Perfect, this "I Use" Battle looks great on Digg Swarm
- iDrinkKoolAid, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I use Windows for work and academia, not by choice but necessity. Mac @ home.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5hell yea
- TomP, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I use both so dugg both
- bobobean, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I use all three, and throw in some AIX, Solaris, and HP-UX. And when I really want a bad day I get back work on a AS400.
For work I have a Windows ThinkPad
For Home I have an Intel iMac, and my wife has a PowerBook
My backup and file server at home is an Ubuntu Linux server.
I think for the time being you need all three. - drewgunn, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Use Windows PC,s and Suse for servers, IT field Not much time for home use.
- skyspine, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I didn't digg the last idiotic "I USE" submission and I'm not about to do it here either. Lesson one in combatting spam is not submitting more spam. Way to add to the problem.
- Vermifax, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Has Microsoft won any Grammy Technical awards? Or Oscar Tech awards?
No?
How about TEC awards?
Get a Mac Pro for serious music production. I did.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7525574102901564733 - Florian, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Why is this in the Apple section? To be a bit more fair the mac one should have been put in the Windows section.
- scantling, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1can you count windows 3.1
or windows 95
or windows 98
on laptops i've got but going to feather or damn small linux soon with them - spunquik, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3gasp.
im on m$ windowz now! - cfsporn, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3I use windows only because I am forced to at school. Not on my own free will.
- WayneGoode, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3This digg poll by digging brings up the question of whether digg users want polls. So I've created a poll, not by digging, but at dpolls, to see what people think. The poll is at http://www.dpolls.com/PollPage.aspx?PollID=9151 The story I submitted to digg (only 1!) is at http://digg.com/tech_news/Should_Digg_Have_Polls_Vote_in_the_Poll_Now
The text of the submission about the poll, for those to lazy to click, is:
There is currently a poll on Digg by user habitat2050 about what OS you use with the voting being done by digging stories. Do Digg users want polls on the site? Many tech news/blog sites such as Slashdot.org, Kuro5hin.org and SciScoop.com have polls. Some are serious; some are silly. Should Digg have polls too? What type of polls? Take the poll! - MajikalMan, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0I don't blame them.
