    Windows is still a good OS for producing music, as long as your DAW is setup correctly. The difference being, OSX is ready for meaty production, out of the box, and Logic is by far the most productive & quickest means I have come across when it comes to getting that tune out of your head and into a sequencer.

    You are quite right in saying Windows is a nice system for gaming, though.

  • kd1s, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My office desktop is Windows XP Pro, running VM Ware and under VM Ware I've got instances of Suse Enterprise, Ubuntu, and Debian running for testing purposes.

    At home it's Windows XP Pro with VM Ware and Kubuntu and Red Hat. So I use both Windows and Linux. And who knows, maybe I'll port the Mac OS-X on soon.

    For work I have a Windows ThinkPad
    For Home I have an Intel iMac, and my wife has a PowerBook
    My backup and file server at home is an Ubuntu Linux server.
    I think for the time being you need all three.
