- Ninjab3ar, on 10/12/2007, -11/+24Sorry to spoil your fun, but you get the iTunes card for purchasing item #316523
The Zune's numbers are as follows
Brown: 342633
Black: 342634
White: 342635 - gronne, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17You have to be an Apple snob to get it. This pretty much sums up their sense of humor:
"Hey Biff, who's cooler than us?"
"Who?"
"Nobody!"
"Ha ha ha ha ha..."
(round of high-fives) - theheadguy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8I would hate to be the psychologist trying to figure out what's wrong with you.
- UltimaNut, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8"Why do I need to get rid of my Zune, again?
Man these psycho mac fanatics must really be mentally ill to think that people who bought zunes want to get rid of them. Enough of bashing zune already. You've done enough and you've failed, quit retelling the myth."
What the hell are you talking about. Its an ad in print. It happened. No myth. RTFA. - joeshlub, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Your comment was so much funnier than the actual post itself, that I almost was incapacitated with laughter. Well, not really. But it was quite funny.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9Keep dreaming. RIAA has Jobs' arse since the introduction of the first iPod...
- scarface74, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"Why don't iTMS songs work on the Zune? Because Apple does not want them to work. Jobs is a liar or a retard. His bs excuse that he can't license fairplay is pathetic."
So why doesn't Microsoft's PlaysForSure format run on the Zune? Why doesn't video recorded using Microsoft's Media Center play on the Zune? Why doesn't video bought from Microsoft's XBox Live store play on Zune. - kosibar, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10I think the Free iTunes Gift Card is item number 316523. If you go to their web site you can search for the other three numbers listed there and find the three colors of Zune, but if you search for 316523 there is no product, suggesting that it's a special item number for the promo.
- geekee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Or Steve Jobs could just license fairplay. His whiny pathetic excuse that it would be too hard to license fairplay doesn't hold water.
- mecole21, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8hahaha... and then people are gonna come back returning it saying it doesnt work...
- pt4117, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4The coupon does say that you will get a free gift card (#316523). It's not that you get a free card when you buy item #316523.
I would think item number 316523 would be related to a free itunes gift card. That's why you can't find it online. - Praxis1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Other blogs have photographs taken by non-employees.

However, the card is a misprint, there is no actual Zune deal. Original picture from this Digg link has been taken down though. - notninja, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4i also work at CompUSA. This could be a fake. the program Media Manager is what we use to make the tags, and allows to be fully customizable. i am a Merchandiser whose job is to set the sales and didn't see that on the tag.

"Does iTunes support time limited expiration btw?"
Um...no it doesn't currently. But unless you could "rent" content from iTunes, why would I want it to? - JorgeGonzalez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Good job assuming I'm a MacTroll. I own a Zune and not an iPod.
- stevehill, on 10/12/2007, -9/+10Hilarious, but if Steve Jobs gets his way over DRM, maybe not so much of a mistake.
- MacParrot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"*whispers*
You can't play iTunes content on a Zune..."
*also whispering*
You can't play Plays4Sure content on a Zune either and the same company made both flavors of DRM. Nor can you play either on the iPod. What was your point again? - Ujjay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What exactly is wrong with me, again?
- jrbrewin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1because mactrolls are, again, jumping up and down on technology that scares them.. maybe not today (because first revisions of new technology by microsoft is always poor). :)
- GOVATENT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think all of the big stores don't know what they sell in the first place. My self I worked at a radio shack for a month before quiting. Some of the stuff i saw made me laugh.
- unloud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Jesus clucking Christ...Why is everyone feel the need to act like whiny little ***** today?
- roflwaffle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@scarface74
Oh.. yea about that.. ... they don't care about that BG has said that there was something wrong with PFS, or some *****.. DRM on them probably didn't support the sharing feature, and time limited expiration needed for sharing, etc...
And, MS commercials cant very well say 'share with your friends... unless... its in the following formats'
Does iTunes support time limited expiration btw? - kignjr3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"You can't play Plays4Sure content on a Zune either and the same company made both flavors of DRM. Nor can you play either on the iPod. What was your point again?"
I don't see Apple giving away $15 Zune Marketplace gift cards with an iPod purchase. That's my point. Did you bother looking at the CompUSA misprint? It's funny. - GnKnight1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1If that were true, then maybe it would be worth the price tag.
- jessiedelmar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I agree with the rest of the guys, I don't think it is funny, especially coming from COMP USA. I've seen some misleading ads on that respective store; no wonder why they make fun of the customers...
- MacParrot, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1@geekee,
Why should Apple be forced to do this? They created it as the portal for their music player. Every other company could have done the same, but didn't.
I think the best reason for not licensing FairPlay is that the RIAA is for it. - MacParrot, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Which "Zune is crap" myth are you referring to and how did it fail. You really should be more specific.
*by the way I'm not saying the Zune is crap, just wondering what you're talking about. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+7Why do I need to get rid of my Zune, again?
Man these psycho mac fanatics must really be mentally ill to think that people who bought zunes want to get rid of them. Enough of bashing zune already. You've done enough and you've failed, quit retelling the myth. - kignjr3, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Does your poop colored iPod wannabe prevent you from seeing the irony of this "story", or do the personal digs stroke your ego enough that you can sleep easier?
*whispers*
You can't play iTunes content on a Zune... - JorgeGonzalez, on 10/12/2007, -12/+11Was this really "too funny?" Was it so funny, that you became incapacitated and weren't able to function normally? Was it so funny that your constant laughing made you lightheaded to the point of passing out?
Here, this should make you explode then: two Jews walk into a bar and they own it! - geekee, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Why don't iTMS songs work on the Zune? Because Apple does not want them to work. Jobs is a liar or a retard. His bs excuse that he can't license fairplay is pathetic.
- 81v3d07g0d, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2sorry my mistake.

Zunes are on the left, I-Pods are on the right. - kignjr3, on 10/12/2007, -17/+14Vista premium now comes with OS X Leopard too!
- MacParrot, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4riiiiight naio. Like all the other legal music stores have done SO much for our downloadable freedom with a similar catalog for music.
Don't miss naio's next book! How to say something stupid everyday for dummies!
Step 1: Hate another platform for its mere existence
Step 2: Go on Digg everyday and troll the topics listed
Step 3: There IS no Step 3! - Ujjay, on 10/12/2007, -10/+5FREE Vista upgrade with purchase of iMac.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -14/+8...if only, if only...
- themoose, on 10/12/2007, -16/+9marked as lame.. sorry, I just don't find it funny.
- TheIneffableBob, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1Ouah!
- UltimaNut, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2You are both duche bags. It not MS vs Apple you maroons. Look beyond your arseholes and realize CompUSA is the butt of the joke with DRM and the RIAA providing the butt.
- jinglee, on 10/12/2007, -16/+5whats the point..Why should I get a Zune if I have an iPod?
