- peskypescado, on 10/11/2007, -10/+21One of the best pranks I have ever seen!
- Scott2, on 10/11/2007, -13/+3Are you kidding? Lame. Try changing their keyboard prefs to only accept every 9 out of every 10 keystrokes. Thats funny. This is dumb. Gluing the toilet seat is funnier.
- jman8888, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5TOO MUCH IPHONE. Loaded up Dig. Not one not 4 but EVERY story was iphone. WTF
- peskypescado, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Well this was the only one worth reading.
- cfjis, on 10/11/2007, -5/+34This totally worked.... my co-worker freaked.
SWEET!! - peskypescado, on 10/11/2007, -4/+28Awesome, they updated it so you can do it on your own network too.
- MrSarcasm, on 10/11/2007, -6/+85Now THAT's an iPhone story I will digg!
- flamingmb, on 10/11/2007, -33/+9If you use the work "punk" as in "I punked him" then you yourself are a ***** *****.
- desistere, on 10/11/2007, -3/+25What are you if you spell "word" incorrectly?
- linkin1, on 10/11/2007, -14/+69How to Punk an Apple Fanboy the Week of the iPhone Release:
tell him it does not record video or send pictures MMS- PhoenixAvatar2, on 10/11/2007, -23/+1/troll
You forgot it, no thanks necessary. - B1663r, on 10/11/2007, -3/+22That would be a ***** thing to say to someone.
Instead offer to MMS him some ringtones to get started on his new phone. - zybch, on 10/11/2007, -6/+6Don't forget to mention - no MP3 ringtones - as well!
- zdiggler, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1Talking about that I was playing around my 3 year old vx8100 from vzw, I didn't even know I could have videos as my background.
- fusionFactor, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Well, technically you wouldn't be punking them because it actually DOESN'T record video or send MMS. You'd be telling the truth...
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 10/11/2007, -23/+1/troll
- totorototoro, on 10/11/2007, -9/+1great prank!
- silverchrysalis, on 10/11/2007, -3/+26in other news, a spike in suicides, homicides, and violent crimes hits the nation at precisely 6:01pm, june 29
- noahhoward, on 10/11/2007, -18/+5Wow, yeah hilarious... this proves it, most Digg readers are 12.
- Buckiller, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4im not following you...
- IllBeBack, on 10/11/2007, -1/+18Wow, that press release sounded very legit and professional. Well done! Dugg!
- ElliotShoe, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3So what was the guys reaction...
- joe90210, on 10/11/2007, -5/+43"This guy was/is determined to get an iPhone and was considering purchasing a ticket to New York to avoid the supposed disaster of the iPhone being delayed for Indianapolis"
***** sad- Arbus, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10They should have let the sucker go to New York. Then it would have been a prank for the ages.
- heero101086, on 10/11/2007, -6/+3PUNK FOR YOU GUYS, REALITY FOR CANADA! ..(depressed).....
- SOS84, on 10/11/2007, -5/+10Wow, I mean wow! That is the best thing I have heard all day. This one should be entered into the library of congress to be saved for all eternity. As all of you know, fanboys of any flavor are completely obnoxious. Apple and XBox fans seem to be worse than most in my opinion. Perhaps we could start our own club dedicated to @#$%^@^ing with fanboys.
- peskypescado, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Thanks for the compliment.
- diggerphelps, on 10/11/2007, -4/+5This will not work with a real Apple fanboy.
Real Apple Fanboys (RAF(tm)) will follow macnn or appleinsider for news, NOT the local newspaper website.
RAF will also have already bookmarked and checked http://www.apple.com/retail/iphone/ and will keep checking it every hour on the hour for every store in a 300 mile radius.- peskypescado, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Actually, he is the hugest Apple fanboy I have ever met. No joke. I took down the apple.com domain at the same time too. Made it that much sweeter.
- petemcfraser, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Cruelty + Technology = Awesome Prank!
- merrickx, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12"biggest release since the iPod itself. "
Hardly anyone knew what the hell the iPod was until like 2 or 3 years after it was released.- NSResponder, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1I think you'd have to go back to either the Titanium PowerBook, or the original Mac itself to find an Apple product release that got this much attention.

- Hardcase, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2Apparently Joomla is the new Wordpress. Melted.
- peskypescado, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Actually I turned it off so my server wouldn't get extra slammed. The prank still works if people go to http://ellisfoundation.com/indystar or change their DNS server to have a CNAME for indystar.com pointing to ellisfoundation.com .
- theantix, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2That's much too complicated -- a simple IM or in-person remark saying "Oh wow, I can't believe they delayed the iPhone release so near the release" was good enough to make some of my rabid apple loving fans and coworkers hyperventilate earlier this week.
- peskypescado, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1We had already done that a few times. This was the icing on the cake.
- Kinjiru, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Ahh now that was truly Priceless!
- nycmac247, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3Jesus Christ _- I am an Apple fanboy (who used to work at apple for several years) and STILL thought this was totally ***** funny!!! LOL!!!!
- fmorel90, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1This made by day. That was so horribly cruel (yet funny). At least he doesn't have to pay a plane ticket as well as the iPhone..he can buy two instead.
- Surefly, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3People still use 'punk' as a verb?
- Hawkeye199, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2thats very cruel, still funny as hell tho. Bless him
- ArkZero, on 10/11/2007, -2/+0Awesome prank very funny.
- charmides, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Ya my prank was pretty juvenile and involved throwing a few balloons at the people waiting outside the store today.
Update on that one is that 2 cops came to my house and almost took me to jail for ASSAULT .
No seriously they did and then supposedly the guy had a change of heart and they "let me off" with a bogus exhibition of acceleration charge and failure to signal when i left the parking lot both of which are untrue...
I SHOULDA just made a fake website huh?- clackerd, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0yes.com/you/jackass
- DeathfireD, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1why do you need a DNS server just edit your HOSTS file on the PC you want to punk your co worker with.
- mtheoryx83, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Apparently he wasnt just manipulating THAT pc. He wanted it to be all over the LAN at his work. So if he whips out his personal computer (a mac, as stated earlier), he would still pull up the fake site.
Not too effective if his work machine had the prank, but his mac showed the original sites.

- stepnw1f, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Why do Apple bashers go out of their way to complain about products they supposedly don't like or buy? Jealousy(if so, that's pathetic)? Are you guys paid to do this ***** to drive down sales of Apple products (for say a competitor like, Microsoft), or does Apple really get under your skin that much. Either way, get a ***** life.
- crossers, on 07/16/2008, -0/+0yeah one of the best prank!
