- HIFIsamurai, on 02/19/2009, -1/+25It's amazing how smart Pandora's recommendation engine is...
- peestandingup, on 02/20/2009, -0/+17Cell phones + 3G + Internet radio = Goodbye to satellite & terrestrial radio.
- ssquared22, on 02/20/2009, -1/+17Pandora's recommendation engine is absolutely amazing.
- jsauter, on 02/20/2009, -1/+15Last.fm as it works in Canada.
- QuantumNighmare, on 02/20/2009, -0/+13It amazes me that content like this is locked to everyone but US users.
When you make it this hard to access content legally, no wonder people resort to bittorent and bypass all this localization crap. - oSiK, on 02/20/2009, -1/+12Pandora itself is a good enough reason to buy an iPod touch. I listen to it more than the music on my iPod.
- gwaggy12, on 02/19/2009, -1/+12Pandora needs to make an app for Android. Now.
Imeem is the Android equivalent, and it sucks. - theghoul, on 02/20/2009, -0/+10Bill Paxton writes code?
- ooMARLAoo, on 02/20/2009, -1/+10Pandora = life saver at work.
- Rsam, on 02/20/2009, -1/+10Make it available to Canadians you jerks.
- sunburner, on 02/20/2009, -1/+9I highly recommend plugging your iPhone into the charger, typing Brian Eno into the playlist, adjusting suitable volume and let it put you to sleep. You won't regret it.
- mxnate116, on 02/20/2009, -1/+7Last.fm
skip unlimited songs
and it gives alot more info then pandora - gkskillz, on 02/20/2009, -2/+6Buried as inaccurate. "Music industry experts discuss how the Pandora iPhone app dramatically changed the scope of digital music." Except its not music industry experts discussing how revolutionary Pandora is, it's a Pandora rep talking about how revolutionary it is.
- jbond, on 02/20/2009, -0/+4Last.fm FTW
- MMaster23, on 02/20/2009, -1/+5Pan.. what?
Oh wait crappy US-only service provider .. right.. - eviscerator, on 02/20/2009, -0/+4Pandora ***** rocked...yes, rocked - back when I used it, I suddenly couldn't anymore because I live in Denmark :(
- farfromsubtl, on 02/20/2009, -4/+8Last.fm > Pandora
- MMaster23, on 02/20/2009, -0/+4Goodbye to actually using your phone as the battery has been nom'd
- nemojonze, on 02/20/2009, -0/+3Greatest App Ever. I just drove cross-country switching between Pandora and Little Steven's Underground Garage #25 on Sirius. Westergren's next move should be pumping more in-house content, but also throwing an umbrella over streaming content, talk, sports, and the best podcasts out there.
I would die happy man if The Watt From Pedro Show streamed on Pandora.
Keep it up, and I'll keep donating. - gknacks, on 02/20/2009, -0/+3Correct. Streaming radio is not new. WTFV The way that Pandora functions and its definition of a "station" are revolutionary. You obviously do not understand what Pandora is and think of it as just another internet radio app. I assure you, it is much more.
Burried as inaccurate. - fudsak, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2I will try this tonight and report back tomorrow... although Pandora needs a sleep timer.
- inactive, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2THANK YOU SO MUCH A+++ SPAMMER WOLD BURY AGAIN!!!
- Tweak589, on 02/20/2009, -1/+3Last.fm
Pandora is so weak and mainstream. All the time I find new bands I've never heard of that I really like via Last.fm, and Last.fm just keeps playing newer and newer content. Pandora will repeat too often, and doesn't 'recommend' any other kind of genres that I may like. Last.fm really narrows it down the more you use it. Pandora just sticks with basic music tags, and is for people that want to really bore their ears. - lies03, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2I like both. They are not the same thing.
I use Pandora most of the time to hear music that I really like, and when I want to hear music that I like with a few unknown musicians I use last.fm . One downside of Pandora is that I get some repetitive songs.
What I really love about last.fm is that it tracks every song you listen to on the ipod, itunes, and more. This helps built a library of songs that you love to hear & is searchable in case you forget some song names you heard a week ago. - TheCash, on 02/20/2009, -1/+3I love Pandora, but it is criminal that AT&T and other providers charge up to 9 dollars to use it on other phones from Samsung or Nokia. That is ***** no matter how you slice it.
- angelo1x1, on 02/21/2009, -0/+2Wenn kommes to the European App Store ?
- Frostek, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2And the UK! It was worse that we got use it long enough to see how good it was, then have it suddenly taken away.
- peestandingup, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2Buried for the "this isnt new, I've been doing this for months/years through nerdy ways not meant for humans" comment.
- coldkill3r, on 02/20/2009, -1/+3Which one does digg like better, Pandora or Last.fm?
- svensksvamp, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2Last.fm vs. Pandora?
- Frostek, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2Well, we can use last.fm in the UK, so even though I really liked Pandora guess which one wins.
- diversionmary, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2in after fail
- peestandingup, on 02/20/2009, -1/+3Why, so they can get on that one Android device??
No, I think all those Blackberrys are the ones truly getting the royal screw job from Pandora. Good thing there's Slacker. - thesonofdarwin, on 02/20/2009, -1/+2Grooveshark > Pandora > Last.fm, but I use all 3
Obviously if we're strictly speaking Apps I prefer Pandora. - inactive, on 02/20/2009, -1/+2Pandora rox my sox
- inactive, on 02/20/2009, -2/+3Pandora is amazing. Ratatat and Disco Biscuits stations ftw
- andyatkinson, on 02/20/2009, -0/+1Tim is a great speaker and passionate about his company and product. If you're interested in more reading, I covered the Minneapolis stop of their 'town hall' tour in 2007.
http://paininthetech.com/2007/08/01/pandora-meetup ... - L0NER, on 02/20/2009, -1/+2Pandora rules, but it kills my battery
(and ATT makes them charge on windows mobile) - bigmhanns, on 02/20/2009, -1/+2"Broadcast radio, which for all of its strengths, comes short for a lot of people" that about sums it up
- jamaph, on 02/21/2009, -0/+1Ratatat is coming to Orlando!
- Frostek, on 02/20/2009, -1/+2...and it didn't change the scope of anything - unless you live in the US. "Dramatically changed net radio" doesn't mean much when you aren't talking about the vast majority of the world.
- Daniel591992, on 02/21/2009, -0/+1Grooveshark is incredible. I wonder how they stay in business.
- jumpjet701, on 02/20/2009, -0/+1Dugg for pandora. I love this app.
- sunburner, on 02/20/2009, -0/+1Glad you liked. :-)
- nicc, on 02/20/2009, -0/+1look out below...
- wiihuck, on 02/20/2009, -0/+1It 100% depends on your taste in music. Last.fm always recommended me crappy "newer and newer content." And it was *****. Now that I've built a good library of stations in Pandora, I can listen to it all day and skip maybe 3 or 4 songs. This is after about a week of rating songs and adding stations.
- winterjunkie, on 02/20/2009, -0/+1Anyone else have to pause Pandora to watch that?
