************************************************************ - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+32This site is getting dugg, I'm working on getting mirrors now.

(It's in the process of mirroring, but since the server is so slow, it'll take awhile. It probably won't give complete files for awhile.) - jpt62089, on 10/12/2007, -9/+26This proves nothing, who knows if there is a PC hooked up... I hope it is real though, because once I get a job I am switching to Mac (for the most part)
- mac0Fd00m, on 10/12/2007, -18/+33just because you are not interested, doesn't mean there aren't millions out there who are. If you're not interested, ignore the digg and move on. Don't be an a**hole.
- haooken, on 10/12/2007, -5/+19Autoexec.bat on mac. haha, I LOL'd
that's funny - Vryz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11No need to be skeptical. It's HL2 running on windows on the mac mini. x1600 drivers aren't working yet, so games won't run on the Macbook or iMac. But intel integrated graphics work fine in windows on the mac mini.
- cobweb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12seriously. If the title said it all, there would be no need for a link.
- Ignorant, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Title doesn't explain it all.
- SixSider, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10More proof woulod be filming it from boot up (showing the dual boot screen) thru loading HL2 to play. Just saying.
- shantambee3, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10I'd like to see benchmarks on that.
Would be interesting to see how well the integrated intel chipset performs. - mac0Fd00m, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8actually, it should be this:

- mac0Fd00m, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Okay, new video is up!
WARNING: The new clip is a lot longer, and will take longer to load. Please be patient.
http://www.crackin.com/hl2mm/hl2mm2.mov - jpt62089, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Intel it has the remote thing on it
- kjartan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Who else but us hardcore geeks would spend all this time and trouble (and possible money on bandwidth) to host videos of loading screens.
I love being a geek!!! - thegsa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5http://www.vimeo.com/clip=55852
- KZeni, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I have both versions of the video on YouTube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Spb-bzXWZQ0 (short version)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVEzd1S1NwI (long version) - mac0Fd00m, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7I will say I now regret the lack of any explanation. I do apologize. Live and learn....
- microsoftpwner, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7"The title explains all....."
uh no it doesn't, don't put that in the description, anything is better than that. - trogdoor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Digg strips html so I think what you were trying to do create a link but to do that you actually have to past the entire url including the http:// so it shows up as a link in the comments.
- corsairstw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The 2nd video actually proves that it is on the Mac mini! Pretty neat and congrats on getting this to work.
- Micrll, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I would like to believe that this is real at this point I will say that its plausable and if it is mac0fd00m you did a great job of getting it to run.
However, I would think that if one wanted to really prove these things, with all the fakes commnig out these days, that someone would just move all the equipment out into an open location, like a fresh spot on the floor and show that there is nothing else hooked up to the monitor or system and show it full circle all the way around and then do the boot up and demonstration. It would save a lot of arguging in the long run. But thats just me, in kind of tired of seeing all these, LOOK what I did and having it done in a really small area. - mac0Fd00m, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3whatever, I'm tired of arguing this point
- eklitzke, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6The coralized links:
Original video: http://www.crackin.com.nyud.net:8080/hl2mm/hl2mm.mov
Revised video: http://www.crackin.com.nyud.net:8080/hl2mm/hl2mm2.mov - theminkus, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7here is the link for the video drivers for the windows on the mac mini. The mini is a 1.66 duo and has a 10gb partition witch has windows on it.
- mac0Fd00m, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7for all you skeptics, a better video is coming.......
- bubs, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Someone upload the video to Google Video or YouTube.
- frem001, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4God some people are pedantic.
- neddy1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Who cares if its real or fake? I mean if its real, is it that hard to belive? and if its fake, is it that hard to beleve its "fake", it is on the internet for god sakes!
But its real. I work with the guys who took the video and they are very excited about it. (even if the frame rate is suck because of shared memory). - topherphoto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I played it, it works, it was fun. If you want to be a skeptic, more power to you, really. You should try it yourself and then if you want to call bs, by all means. I don't think the point of this was to *prove* anything, but to show people something pretty cool and new.
- thegsa, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6It's Still Loading
- Ignathius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3probably because HL2 is one of the only major titles recently that doesn't have an OS X port, with no plans to port it to OS X.
- ThankTheCheese, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2yea, would be handy to just see te camera pan from the mini's OUT to the monitor's IN so we know the monitor is displayed the mini. But you're right, even there will be some skepticism.
Now that XP can be boot on a Mac, there will be many of these videos coming out. Very exciting. Counter-Strike: Source is about the only thing I use my PC for these days. - CrackFarmer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Holy hell, this is killing my server! It is only a Dual 800Mhz P3 Xeon :) Thanks for the mirrors.
- Asheron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I wouldn't say that. Rather I would say that if Apple gains a greater market share, (even though the games are being run through windows) more and more people will get tired of dual booting. Therefore game studios will be forced to develop for Apple hardware.
You also forget that Average Joe is NOT going to be dual booting. - ravenmuffin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2When the iMac Core Duo gets a graphics driver that powers its ATI X1600 graphics, then you'll see a viable "gaming Mac!" (Just a matter of time. The X1600 card can't be that difficult to find drivers for.)
And if you do the numbers, the iMac is actually better value than the Mac mini. For $1299 vs $799 you get:
- faster Core Duo at 1.83GHz over 1.66GHz
- proper graphics card (ATI X1600) instead of integrated Intel chipset thing
- 128MB of dedicated graphics RAM, not shared
- 17" high-quality DVI LCD (very nice screen BTW) vs. Bring Your Own Old Crappy One (BYOOCO)
- 160GB 7200rpm drive vs 80GB 5400rpm drive
- integrated camera
- keyboard + mouse
Unless you're buying a mini purely for the tiny size, I think the iMac is much better value. - mac0Fd00m, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2the band is called 'The Advantage', and they are awesome
- sulestis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2what a spaz
- TheD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2eggs sactly
- ThankTheCheese, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That didnt look very slow to me.
- Ignathius, on 10/12/2007, -7/+9this vid doesn't show squat besides someone playing HL2. sure, it pans down and shows the HL2 box sitting on macmini, but you can also see the back end of a mac tower, and cables going into another machine just off screen to the right.
+inaccurate as it doesn't show any proof HL2 is running on a mac. - slainte1971, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2porn...on a mac! oh boy oh boy
- Chongo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2looks more like the usb port on the back of the mac keyboard.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"this is why i hate apple fanboys AKA *****, they get exited about any ***** that happens. "
[Sarcasm]
I know seriusly, I mean no one was overly excited over Origami, Vista, and Xbox. I mean ***** only Apple Fan boys can have this level of crazed devotion and blind following[/Sarcasm] - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Why aren't people using one of those cheapo USB sound card things you can get on ebay for $5?
- breakneckridge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2People will always find something to be skeptical about. "Yeah the computer is alone on the floor, but how do I know there isn't a cable running through a hole they made in the floor?"
- SixSider, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Finally got the 2nd vid to run. Excellent.
Long way to go until I feel fine trying it myself but well done. - h2d2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Because of this, millions of gamers are now going to purchase Macs and every major game shop is going to develop games for Macs...
Hurray! - theminkus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1check the other video posted it shows the boot process from power on to play
- chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It doesn't look like the mouse is connected to the mac mini, it seems to be going off to the left somewhere.
