- sockpuppets, on 11/12/2008, -3/+31Yes.
- cyberwiz01, on 11/12/2008, -0/+25I'm still annoyed that when you search from the built in Safari google-bar, it goes to the 'classic' version of the google page instead of the iPhone optimized one. Anyone know of a way to change it, jailbroken or otherwise?
- inactive, on 11/12/2008, -1/+25So wait, Google has optimized the search results or Google has changed the appearance?
- inactive, on 11/12/2008, -1/+16That clears it up, thanks.
- likwidfuzion, on 11/12/2008, -0/+7You have to go to google.com in Safari first and then search from there. You can't use the Search bar in Safari.
- inactive, on 11/12/2008, -0/+5I want to see iPhone optimized view from the Safari search too. What's up with that? Is it still being tested or something?
- jonshipman, on 11/12/2008, -0/+4Isn't the slot a little tiny for that?
- MacParrot, on 11/12/2008, -0/+3Probably not for him
- Demistate, on 11/12/2008, -0/+3No clue. It seems like you still get ***** results from built in search still ;~(
- milkmage, on 11/12/2008, -0/+2m.google.com
- jparkinson, on 11/13/2008, -0/+2optimized the accessibility of the search results i guess...
- kouchan21, on 11/12/2008, -3/+5The title is misleading. The format of the result page changed. Furthermore, who cares?
- ButterLoyalist, on 11/12/2008, -0/+1that's rude...
- neliago, on 03/06/2009, -0/+1I think the Google cell phone is better anyway.
http://www.googlemobileblogger.com - aberrati0n, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1The Android browser gets that same version of Google, fyi
- MacParrot, on 11/12/2008, -1/+2Well then you're all set and will be getting an iPhone won't you?
- fuxxx, on 11/12/2008, -1/+2It's been like this for a long time.
I use the iphone version of the ig page all the time - tipdog32, on 11/12/2008, -2/+3I don't wait for the Google search page to load and then search from there, I just search using safari.
- gametavern, on 11/12/2008, -0/+1ah, well good... about time.
- jparkinson, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1yeah... still doesn't seem to work from canada... even going to google.com
EDIT: wow... in the last 30 seconds it suddenly appeared - wfbnadador, on 11/12/2008, -0/+1can't view images exclusively (view full size in top bar) out of google images anymore....darn.
- AltF, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1works for me - if you are outside us - goto google.com on your iphone and change the url param - &gl=us
- r3zonance, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1A .plist file is a binary file, XML-like in it's structure. However, it is binary (rather than plain text) as it is more efficient that way. Also, as an "end-user" you shouldn't be editing them, so the Apple "Property List Editor" does the job just fine for the developers who create them.
- inactive, on 11/12/2008, -1/+2No doubt. My HTC phone has a similar setup, but for a landscape view. This isnt really news.
- locojones, on 11/12/2008, -0/+1So much for not using the "watered down internet" huh?
- r3zonance, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1You'd kind of hope so really.
- Nephersir7, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1"Google says it eventually intends to bring the formatting to other phones, countries and languages."
That's why I love Google - TehDoctor, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1I am aware of that. I was making the several points that whoever dugg me down totally missed. My main point is ***** binary and XML formats. Use plain text, because anyone can understand it. There is no advantage to using other formats except some space, but space is cheap, so even that is a stupid argument. Unix has used plain text for all configuration files for about forty years, nevermind the fact that Unix is the ideal model that's oft imitated, so it's probably a better bet to just go with that.
And if Apple did things like this, it would be trivial to put in whatever search engine you wanted. - Remlapw, on 02/13/2009, -0/+0I don't have an iphone but what about my touch?
http://www.how--to-make-money-online.blogspot.com - TehDoctor, on 11/12/2008, -1/+1The URL string is probably in a .plist file (what the ***** are those things? FLAT TEXT, people, use it)
So if you have a plist editor, go spelunking around your phone and try to find it. Let us know how that turns out. - Kossu, on 11/12/2008, -2/+1You seem to know.
- Kamioni, on 11/12/2008, -6/+5I really do not see the difference. Maybe you need an app for $9.99 to see it?
- xsecretfiles, on 11/12/2008, -3/+2Is true you guys, I just searched for "fat midget porn" and it takes me to the best mobile sites for it
- inactive, on 11/12/2008, -9/+3***** the iPhone
- dukeeeey, on 11/12/2008, -15/+8Zzz..
- nmoline, on 11/12/2008, -10/+2Quit giving me iPhone optimized crap. I bought the iPhone for the full internet not your lame mobile/iPhone site.
- Kossu, on 11/12/2008, -12/+2They optimized it to show more metro sexual search results.
