- llsethj, on 12/06/2007, -3/+13in Europe it looks like *****. Do I really have to use a US VPN or Proxy to use it?
- themarq, on 12/06/2007, -0/+8Yeah, because a multi-billion dollar company can only do one thing at a time.
- KevinWhite, on 12/06/2007, -0/+5No, just go directly to http://www.google.com/m (It won't redirect you to your countries specific site)
- Coestar, on 12/06/2007, -0/+5Looks pretty good, I appreciate how everything has been consolidated into a very simple interface. Has some trouble staying logged in, though.
- apsk121, on 12/06/2007, -0/+4Works for me here in India.
- OneManArmy, on 12/06/2007, -0/+3www.google.com/m
- xsecretfiles, on 12/06/2007, -3/+6ONLY if Google Talk makes it in to this bundle, I will so get the iphone
- inactive, on 12/06/2007, -0/+3Going to Google.com does not lead to the iPhone version outside the US because it clearly does the region check before the user agent check - a bug that would be easily squashed.
- britkev1, on 12/06/2007, -1/+3Thats really the only remaining deciding factor? Google Talk?
- carguy84, on 12/06/2007, -2/+4Wait, is today December 6th or is it yesterday when this story was already featured?
- gerry, on 12/07/2007, -0/+2Yes.
- JustGrant, on 12/06/2007, -0/+2Does this work with the Touch guys?
- jrsvanquish, on 12/06/2007, -0/+2just wait until February when there are integrated chat apps released
- bobablob, on 12/06/2007, -0/+2This is nice, but boy, if Google Talk was included, this would be great.
- steveooo, on 12/07/2007, -0/+1you can see all the iphone apps at: http://iPhoneApplicationList.com there is over 350 apps
- Dested, on 12/07/2007, -0/+1Does anyone know how I can view this in FF?
- freudianslipper, on 12/06/2007, -0/+1This is actually betten than I expected! But anybody else having a problem with the Map application? It just directs me to the main mobile google page and is nowhere to be seen.
- JustGrant, on 12/07/2007, -0/+1Thank you sire.
- Dernit, on 12/06/2007, -0/+1Uh. Just go to meebo.com. I already use it.
- Jrr6415sun, on 12/06/2007, -1/+2I was in a focus group for this over the summer, it's nice, but i was sorta hoping this would come out as an application on the phone, not as a webpage... here's hoping for February to change that I guess...
- inactive, on 12/06/2007, -0/+1Lighting fast, although I kinda wish goog411 was web based for this
http://tinyurl.com/2dqftx - inactive, on 12/08/2007, -0/+1point my iphone towards www.google.com? do i point it at the screen with that text on it or do i point it at mountain view, ca? oh, they mean, type it into the url field!
- ahpro, on 12/08/2007, -0/+1Meh, it got buried but its true!
- NGUVU, on 12/06/2007, -4/+4I think this makes sense for google to do this. They can use iPhone users as a test bed (beta) for what people want on the g-phone...
- Jordan117, on 12/06/2007, -1/+1It may look spiffy at first glance, but the Google Reader in this version has some major problems. No back button, for one thing. No way to access read items, which can be very inconvenient at times.
But the biggest pain is its insistence on loading all items within the Reader interface. You can choose to render articles as optimized for the iPhone (which usually cuts out peripheral but useful features like site navigation and comments) or as full HTML, but there's no way to simply open the article in a new tab.
This normally wouldn't be that big of a deal -- in fact, I have my desktop set up with Greasemonkey to display full HTML in a "text box" within each item. The problem is that pages loaded within Reader have zooming -- both by pinching and tapping -- disabled. Huge headache there.
So, while it may improve the at-a-glance browsing experience, I'll keep the full version bookmarked for the more advanced functions, thank you. - bobablob, on 12/06/2007, -0/+0Well said.
- EnricoFermi, on 12/06/2007, -2/+1Dammit I wish I would have known this before I spent 24.99 on navizon
- amneosis, on 12/06/2007, -8/+4This was on the front page yesterday, launch the burys!
- briLo, on 12/06/2007, -6/+0All your phone/computer apps are belong to us.
Sincerely, Google - wxpbofh, on 12/06/2007, -10/+3No workee outside USA.
- osage, on 12/06/2007, -13/+3Interface still looks like *****. (on ipod touch)
