- Zippo, on 11/14/2008, -4/+78Good to see that, even with Android, Google is still in good terms with the iPhone.
- vsujohn2, on 11/15/2008, -0/+60I dont know, the thought of having to say "Asian Transsexual Midget Porn" out loud makes me a little uncomfortable.
- Someguy101, on 02/19/2009, -4/+30I can't stand talking to machines
- Dylson, on 11/15/2008, -0/+19Dude, it's Google. They are in good terms with everyone. All Google wants to do is be your friend.
- voldron, on 11/15/2008, -0/+15But it sure does make you popular...especially on crowded subways.
- jwolcott, on 11/15/2008, -0/+11"Asian Transsexual Midget Boning Siamese Three-Legged Albino Alpacas...I'm feeling lucky"
- kangy3213, on 11/15/2008, -1/+11It's like, they're taking stalking us, one app at a time.
- Nollykin, on 11/15/2008, -0/+9I, for one, welcome our Googly overlords.
- DickyT83, on 11/15/2008, -5/+13Mccain lost, get over it.
- darkciti2, on 11/15/2008, -7/+14Why? So they can add my voice to their mega-database along with everything that I enjoy, buy and search for?
Next thing you know, I'll call customer service somewhere and I'll say, "Operator" and their IVR will say, "Hello DC, before speaking with an operator, would you be interested in the following 'recommended' products?"
No thanks. - Appleologist, on 11/15/2008, -0/+7Mozilla is not "linked up" with Ask.com any more than other search engines...and you can use Google or many other search engines in Firefox's search "bar". (In fact, I believe it's the default search engine.)
- daking89, on 11/15/2008, -0/+6Nah they'll just be offering porn recommendations you just voice-googled
- kinologik, on 11/15/2008, -0/+6Treat your fembot right!
- divisional, on 11/15/2008, -0/+6Good thing it's not a manditory download!
- voldron, on 11/15/2008, -2/+7Hands free search, no need now for one handed searching/clicking. Pron addicts rejoice. Just don't say "goatse".
- vsujohn2, on 11/15/2008, -0/+5Is that second line unrelated to the first and are you genuinely interested in how not to gag on semen?
- spookyttws, on 11/15/2008, -0/+5So it's the end of the day, and I still don't see anything in the app store...
- nurbsenvi, on 11/15/2008, -0/+5Good taste there, sir...
- emt1451, on 11/15/2008, -1/+5If you "don't know about the iPhone", then how is your preference towards the Blackberry useful information to everyone else?
It's not. - vsujohn2, on 11/15/2008, -0/+4Oogly Googly
- abadonn, on 11/15/2008, -0/+4GOOG-411?
- mattlohkamp, on 11/15/2008, -0/+4unless you... MENTALLY launch it...
- TurboBeard, on 11/15/2008, -0/+4What the ***** are you talking about?
- Trozz, on 11/15/2008, -1/+5Google is watching. Soon, listening.
That's two senses.
Well, three; they can see you. - AdamWillis, on 11/15/2008, -0/+4They are already talking about the voice search on the app page but there is no update so far to the itunes store
http://www.google.com/mobile/apple/app.html - robdazomba, on 11/15/2008, -0/+3Or maybe you just didn't put in the time to find out where her vagina is.
I've been using an iPhone for business uses for a month now and it's everything I want. You say "1st and 2nd gen iPhones" but does that include iPhone 3G? I started off hating the idea of having an iPhone for work and now I can't believe I ever got along without it. All the complaints I've heard about the iPhone were bunk. - darkciti2, on 11/15/2008, -2/+5Obama isn't taking away your firearms. He removed it from his agenda.
If you nitwits keep bringing it up, the constituency will be forced to put it on the table and he'll have to decide on it. Do you want that to happen?
If not, let sleeping dogs lay. There are much more important issues to contend with - Economy/Jobs, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, et al.
(I'm a liberal whom owns guns. Don't make it an issue and it won't become one.) If you want to make it a national issue, keep talking about and enjoy a self-fulfilling prophecy.
You can't change the fact that your boy Mac lost. Cutting off your nose to spite your face is certainly not a good idea. Give Obama a fair shake. If he tries to take your gun (which he won't), I'll be right next to you defending our rights to own it. - Weaselboy, on 11/15/2008, -0/+3Buried.
How about an article when the product actually is released? - sponeil, on 11/15/2008, -0/+3Or listening to others talk to machines.
- vinceislegend, on 11/15/2008, -0/+3Watching and seeing both imply a single sense. :-)
- zephc, on 11/15/2008, -0/+3At least we won't be thrown in Guantanamo forever. Of course, January is still some ways away...
- am0363, on 11/15/2008, -0/+3answering machines are the devil
- cards, on 11/15/2008, -0/+3...and now that's all gone from that page. I wonder if they submitted it to the App Store and someone forgot to wait for it to get through the approval process before updating this page.
- qbqb, on 11/15/2008, -0/+2I'd like to hear George Bush search for "Shiite".
- am0363, on 11/15/2008, -1/+3so what if it's been around forever, the fact that its coming to the iPhone is all that matters! we'll take whatever they decide to give us and keep our mouths shut about what we don't have.
- RobotBuddha, on 11/15/2008, -0/+2Keep in mind, this is the iphone. No background applications allowed. So you'll have to manually launch it. Then say something. Then navigate the website.
- toetagger, on 11/15/2008, -0/+2As if you have to add "porn" to that...
- septicmadman, on 11/15/2008, -0/+2Voice to text, which is pretty much what this is, has been around in some fashion sine the beginning of the personal computer evolution in the mid-90s. Would be much more interesting if the information wasn't parsed as characters.
- Macintoshreader, on 11/16/2008, -0/+2Google hates Microsoft. But that's something to be expected...
Innovators like Google and Apple hate copycats. - Dylson, on 11/15/2008, -0/+2Not necessarily a bad thing.
- tnoy, on 11/15/2008, -0/+2In 2012, The Google will become self aware.
- TurboBeard, on 11/15/2008, -0/+2I want them to know what I like. Maybe they'll help generate interest and revenue for things I enjoy.
- Dylson, on 11/15/2008, -0/+2?
- mattlohkamp, on 11/15/2008, -1/+3Come on, I think assault rifles are cool too, but does everyone really need one? And redistributing wealth sounds real good when you're not too wealthy. :]
- inactive, on 11/15/2008, -1/+2This is just like MS Live Search that came out last year.
- voldron, on 11/15/2008, -0/+1Seems a bit laborious, I can already imagine someone doing the phone mambo. *Move hand to ear* "Pron" *Move hand down* - repeat 5 times.
- mattlohkamp, on 11/15/2008, -0/+1Does clairvoyance run in your family too?
- am0363, on 11/15/2008, -0/+1i love my iphone, but thats the problem with our relationship...
- voldron, on 11/15/2008, -1/+2Google Smell-o-vision - 2009
Google Taste-o-vision - 2010
End of world because of Google - 2012 - Georgy, on 11/15/2008, -0/+1question... why not use the sensor in the earpiece instead of the accelerometer?
