- PissyMan, on 11/19/2007, -5/+24"but is very different then all the other GTD apps". I know I'm about to get dugg down but if you're going to blog, please learn the difference between "then" and "than". It's kind of important.
- Matt2k, on 11/19/2007, -1/+9Wow. A task organizer.
- wdr1, on 11/19/2007, -1/+8I've gotten spoiled by OmniFocus.
Over the last several years, I've used a variety of GTD systems -- paper, Emacs, OneNote, kGTD and so on. OmniFocus smokes them all. Quicksilver integration, the ability to store various views/filters as "perspectives" and assign them keyboard shortcuts. (E.g., F1 to show me flagged items, F2 to show me items w/ a due date in the next two weeks.)
They just announced they'll be going 1.0 shortly, but you can still get in their "sneaky peak" beta program for free & give it a test drive.
Give it a go & see what you think. - seven5, on 11/19/2007, -0/+5app devs that post info on their app 6 months prior to it even being beta should be shot.
This is nothing but vaporware, they posted this in August. So where is the beta/preview? - Laughto, on 11/19/2007, -1/+5Omnioutliner turned my notetaking from being a disorganized pile of poo to something worth reading. I've been trying Omnifocus and it's just brilliant. I've tried quite a few productivity programs and they seem to always be a whole new project unto themselves, Omnifocus is very different. I'd recommend anyone try it, but I'm worried the job market will get too competitive with well-organised people who get things done.
- woodcoxcb, on 11/19/2007, -2/+5BLOGSPAM!
at least it's a mediatemple blog, so it's staying up... - yellowsnowcone, on 11/19/2007, -1/+4If you can't implement and live GTD with a simple document or spreedsheet file, then you're not doing it right.
- kris33, on 11/19/2007, -8/+11No, it looks far to nice for that.
- northernmunky, on 11/19/2007, -0/+3I don't know about CAD but 3DSMax and Maya all have Mac versions and run rather well on my Macbook, Seriously I've found nothing (other than games) that I can't do on a Mac.
- RoamShell, on 11/19/2007, -0/+3On the contrary, there's almost nothing other than gaming & CAD/3dsMax sort of stuff that you can do on a mac. What exactly is "real work" to you? As a user of all 3 operating systems, I call *****.
But for those of you clinging to one os and saying the rest suck, check youtube for truenuff.tv's mac & pc (& Linux) parodies. Very accurate. More accurate than the retarded original ones from Apple. - RoamShell, on 11/19/2007, -1/+3Examples would be great rather than broad generalizations that have no value.
- TechBharat, on 11/19/2007, -0/+2Not to hijack - ToodleDo is a good one at GTD. Its available online. Most of the functionality can be accessed over an iPhone - which is very fast.
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -0/+2Looks like a very plain task organizer with categories. Great.
- tomzx1, on 11/19/2007, -2/+4How about "don't subscribe, just dl it?"
- NeMoD, on 11/19/2007, -4/+5I thought this was pertaining to real life
- waalter, on 11/20/2007, -0/+1I prefer iGTD. http://bargiel.home.pl/iGTD/
- REBELinBLUE, on 11/19/2007, -1/+2Well you see, what they did was click the link labelled "digg it" underneath the current digg count.
- highPhone, on 11/19/2007, -5/+6It's because of beautiful apps like this that I switched to mac in the first place!
- cyrillsneer, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1vitalist.com = plain awesome.
- AlanPeery, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1Everyone looking at this as a real task management tool should take a look at www.toodledo.com. When I compared them in mid October 2007, it was better than Todoist, Hiveminder, or Remember the Milk. It is good enough enought that I am using it, even though I generally prefer to run such software on my own server...
- eclipxe, on 11/19/2007, -1/+2iTunes brushed metal? Did you actually check out the page and screenshots? There is no brushed metal to be seen.
- eclipxe, on 11/19/2007, -3/+4Same here. I try to explain it to my (computer literate) Windows friends but they don't "get it". Even really basic apps and utilities on OS X are usually crafted with lots of care and attention to design and details. It's a stark contrast to the hoards of crappy VB (and now C#/WinForms) apps that live on Windows. For anything you do on a PC*, there are probably several mac replacements that work better, look better and are usually free.
*with the exception of games of course - REBELinBLUE, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1http://culturedcode.com/styles_2.0/images/screensh ...
That isn't brushed metal, this is brushed metal http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/0/0 ... - RoamShell, on 11/19/2007, -0/+13DsMax is finally out for the mac? about damn time. Thanks for the info.
- ophello, on 11/19/2007, -1/+2photo...unavailable...
- xdevit, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1I use Trac.
- Defcon79, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1Macs do seem to get a lot of sexy looking AND well thought out, productive apps. I wish some of the apps like this one, Yojimbo, Quicksilver, Delicious Library, Together etc were available for Windows.
- osage, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1love GTD
- eclipxe, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1Examples of replacements or examples of beautifully crafted applications? It is hard to give concrete examples - it is more of a "use it and you will see" kind of thing. I can list off 10 things this app does better or why it looks better but it doesn't mean much until you start to use it day to day and see how much better it is. (If that makes sense at all?)
- jsblechman32, on 11/19/2007, -0/+0Link to beta version of Omni Focus -http://www.omnigroup.com/applications/omnifocus/

- stevenhatfield, on 11/19/2007, -1/+1Wow, this looks SWEET! I really like how it is organized, and the interface is the best I've seen, hands down.
Very VERY cool! - RoamShell, on 11/19/2007, -1/+1Organization tools are nifty (although I'm not a fan of brushed metal.) Dugg.
- mechatak, on 01/02/2008, -0/+0I am using it and it is hands down the best task management programme ever. Even in alpha it beats omnifocus easily.
- SunAlex, on 09/03/2008, -0/+0how about the interface?

it's the itunes setup aka brushed metal. - inactive, on 11/19/2007, -1/+0better be damn good to replace my hipster
- weizilla, on 11/19/2007, -9/+8is there going to be a non-mac version?
- RoamShell, on 11/19/2007, -7/+4Augh, that horrible itunes brushed metal? No thanks.
- jesperhh, on 11/19/2007, -7/+3Nono, cross compatibility requests are only allowed for windows software!
- CJChesterson, on 11/19/2007, -22/+1what does a mac user need a task scheduler for? all macs are good for is artsy-fartsy stuff, not real work
