Future iPhones May Have Always On Display

gizmodo.com — Apple has patented a new display technology that will allow their iPhones to have always-on displays with almost no battery cost whatsoever. This doesn't mean the whole display would be lit at all times. In reality, only part of it would be activated using a secondary backlight system located under the main one.

  • hollywoodphony, on 11/20/2008, -0/+1Right now, I'd prefer they spent time updating the databases in the text message servers so that people who ported their number over from a different carrier didn't have to listen to their friends constant complaints about not getting their text messages. But this is still cool, I guess.
