- stevene, on 04/28/2008, -4/+51Does anybody really doubt that there will BE a 3g iPhone? Isn't it really just a matter of when?
- LilBoyLuver, on 04/28/2008, -3/+47I for one cannot wait until they release it so that I can hear people bitch about all of the features it is still missing.
- EvilAnimator, on 04/28/2008, -14/+52Suck it, Windows Mobile!
- nestcrw, on 04/28/2008, -1/+25Motorola Q = worst phone ever!
- Pattyo13, on 05/14/2009, -5/+27i won't complain if/when 3G comes, but i've been using my iphone on edge and for browsing site to site, checking email, etc its not that bad. yes, its quicker when i'm on wifi, but not so much so that i'd run out and buy a new phone or pay more for the service
(bury me now) - badqat, on 04/28/2008, -0/+21He means Exchange...
- rudy23, on 04/28/2008, -2/+19I tried using a friends Win Mobile based phone yest. The interface is seriously horrendous and annoying to use.
- badqat, on 04/28/2008, -1/+14Uh, you do know you can unlock one and use it on T-Mobile, right?
- rudy23, on 04/28/2008, -4/+15Outlook?
- jdames1980, on 04/28/2008, -1/+11Foxconn did a good job with the 1st gen. The build quality is amazing, especially for a 1st generation device.
- mrsteve007, on 04/28/2008, -2/+11If they'll allow me to tether the 3G iPhone (and it's connection) to my laptop, then I'll get one. Until that time, count me (and my office) out as a potential customer.

//tethers phone daily to internet - PabloMac, on 04/28/2008, -2/+11Better set up your tent now. No, not THAT tent...
- Tyr7BE, on 04/28/2008, -1/+10It's Apple, and this weiner used all caps and 3 exclamation points. So yes, THAT tent.
- nilsalb, on 04/28/2008, -9/+17I CAN'T WAIT...!!!
- Reaktor5, on 04/28/2008, -1/+9You will see it in June.
- mochaman, on 04/28/2008, -9/+17I hope they have a 32 GB version available, but I'll take 3G + Outlook, at least it will justify the expense of replacing my BlackBerry. I'll get music plus web, OGC.
- jonr, on 04/28/2008, -4/+12I'll buy your outdated 1st gen iPhone for $50!
- mrsteveman1, on 04/28/2008, -0/+8What you don't like your mini start menu?
- Picer, on 04/28/2008, -0/+7I hope they bump up the power of the battery to compensate the effect of 3G, or make the battery last even longer than the 1st gen.
- takamalak, on 04/28/2008, -2/+9You heard wrong. Tell us the truth; you pulled that info right out of your ASS. Am I right?
- locnguyen, on 04/28/2008, -1/+7I guess this is where my rebate check is going
- muzocan, on 04/28/2008, -1/+7Hopefully they'll go worldwide. At last!
- LaSepultura, on 04/28/2008, -4/+9I sold my TyTN II and bought an iPhone. I thought i can get by with the superior web browser with edge speeds and the google maps instead of a GPS. I was wrong. I miss my 3G and GPS soooooo much.
3G will fix one of my problems, but I really hope Apple adds either an integrated GPS chip or at least support for a Bluetooth GPS. - uberamd, on 04/28/2008, -0/+5I agree with you too, I will not be selling my iPhone for the 3G one, just not worth it. The EDGE one is great, and WiFi is usually around anyway.
- miriv365, on 04/28/2008, -1/+6I have a Palm Treo 700wx. I can't stand this phone (probably shouldn't have gotten the Palm OS version instead of Windows Mobile 5). I have to consistently reboot it at least 4-5 times a day. It will randomly freeze. If I launch Opera, switch applications, Opera won't come back online, and I have to shut down the whole phone. Yesterday my contract with Verizon Wireless ended. Although I will be sad to cut them loose (as they have been my cell provider for many years, and I have been VERY pleased with them), I am waiting anxiously for the 3G iPhone to be released so I can have a nice birthday present for myself.
- diggSJaustin, on 04/28/2008, -1/+6I for one would be happy because then I could buy a used 1st gen iPhone on the cheap.
- shade45, on 04/28/2008, -0/+5Where's our Canadian IPhones?? :(
- lateralus, on 04/28/2008, -0/+4Your Hannah Montana theme?
- digjam, on 04/28/2008, -0/+4FTA"The Chinese language Commercial Times is quoting sources claiming that Foxconn "
So some UNKNOWN chinese paper....is quoting UNKNOWN sources....that 3G is coming in june...do we need more EVIDENCE? - skidooer, on 04/28/2008, -0/+4Also, blame the Rogers monopoly on the GSM band. Even if that's not the reason, we desperately need some competition.
- wellyuk, on 04/28/2008, -1/+4I can only guess that things have changed significantly since I left the UK in December, as a. I was one of two people with a 3G phone in my circle of friends (a mixture of geeks and non-geeks) and b. I was the only person who used a mobile data connection in my circle of friends. However, I don't believe that to be the case. The biggest feature in use on a mobile phone in the UK is text messaging not data.
- freddc, on 04/28/2008, -0/+3That number is a bit off if you account for the knockoffs present in Far Eastern manufacturing.
- GregFD3S, on 04/28/2008, -2/+5I have had the Palm Treo 700wx, and now I have an HTC XV6800. So I have used Windows Mobile 5 and 6. Needless to say, I can't WAIT for the iPhone to come out with 3G.
Suck It Microsoft! - mgrest, on 04/28/2008, -1/+4Remember, your iPhone is built by the lowest bidder...
- Zippo, on 04/28/2008, -0/+3lol
- gn0stik, on 04/28/2008, -0/+3palm version isn't much better. constant reboots. Palm sucks, and are going to be moot and out of business in 3.....2.....
- PabloMac, on 04/28/2008, -2/+5"T-Mobile + iPhone = Happiness"
It has been for me for many months now. - hojo05, on 04/29/2008, -0/+2Umm, AT&T already has 3G in metro areas of the United States. Rural areas do not get to use 3G, if thats what you mean. My Nokia 6555 has 3G capabilities but I can't use them because I live in a rural area and the towers only have the EDGE network installed.
- Ethion, on 04/28/2008, -0/+2When I started reading your post, I almost thought it was another "I for one can't wait for my new supremeoverlords" joke..
- dimplemonkey, on 04/28/2008, -1/+3iPhone 1.0 for sale...
- adambadam, on 04/28/2008, -0/+2I would have to imagine that the 3G chip that will go into the iPhone will have to support at least 3 different bands to work across the world on all the different networks. I would hope that t-mobiles would be in there when they eventually roll out their 3g service
- Tenoq, on 04/29/2008, -0/+2Generally not having a 3G phone in Australia means you have a very OLD phone (like 3+ years old). If it's the same in the UK, I'd laugh too. :p
- GregFD3S, on 04/28/2008, -2/+4Why not? I payed $619 for my Windows Mobile 6. I would gladly sell that piece of crap and get a ~$500 iPhone.
- cthellis, on 04/28/2008, -0/+2I tend to value full-strength, good, Google Maps access more than a street-by-street GPS. I can get the data I want, high-fidelity maps (with satellite! ;-) ), and not pay an extra surcharge for it.
The iPhone may roll in a GPS soon, too, but it's not something I'd miss, despite my use of VZ Navigator. Google Maps is much quicker to access, intelligent, and has a lot more entries... an on the iPhone it still gives you a good locational and street-by-street directions if you want. (Just not an auto-updating one.)
The information is more valuable on a cell phone than the directions, especially since you really can't look at them while driving, so it's not going to replace a good dash-mount GPS. - GregFD3S, on 04/28/2008, -1/+3People in the UK are laughing at you.
- GregFD3S, on 04/28/2008, -0/+2Dr. Pepper FTW!
- inactive, on 04/28/2008, -0/+2Whoo hoo! More third (and fourth) hand verification!
- borez, on 04/28/2008, -0/+2Not any more mate, T-mobile do anytime internet for £7/month, things have changed in a big way.
