- facelogic, on 10/12/2007, -3/+27Call me crazy, but I always thought the iPod was an incredibly well thought out and practical marketing tool to get the masses to realize Macintosh.
- pr3sidentspence, on 10/12/2007, -6/+21You put quarter and mac in the same sentance and I'm immediately thinking McDonalds.
"Fourth quarter pounder big Mac revenues to exceed $2 billion"
mmmmm big mac - Aqueous, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17iPod did just that, no? Did it for me anyway.
- kelly, on 10/12/2007, -6/+15Well, Mac doesn't make any money... not a single cent actually.
Apple however is doing very well. - rolf, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12Or better yet, Jeebus should just click on the "Add or Remove Topics" link on the left (when he is signed in) and remove Apple stories. Then he wouldn't have to complain about any Apple stories making it to his front page.
- RadiatedAnt, on 10/12/2007, -7/+15I think microsoft inadvertently helped out on this one.
- maledin, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13Yes, jeebus, it is. Apparently from the diggs on many apple stories, it seems that many diggers like Apple articles.
If you don't like it, don't digg it. Simple. - lostngone, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Well that's it, Apple is going out of business. Don't expect them to last another 6 months.
But in all seriousness, People say the media is biased and they love Apple. What people don't seem to remember is just over 10 years ago Apple was the target for just about every media outlet. You couldn't open a financial magazine or newspaper without someone saying Apple isn't going to make it to the end of the year. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6As a shareholder this is exactly the type of thing you would want to know
... well perhaps not the breakfast part - LegacyCode, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6RFTA...the article states that Mac sales specifically will be over 2 billion. Overall revenue is estimated at approx 4.5+ billion. Which means its about 50/50 on Mac and iPod revenue.
- jfinke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4He was just referring to the OP's misconception that MAC was the company. Mac is just a product that makes Apple money.
- ivanjs, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Hey, Heembo, that reminds me of a joke...
Except... jokes are funny. - macewan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3me too and I use Linux
- dioscaido, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2hehe Although when you read about Microsoft, they are on their way out (even though last quarter they brought in $12 billion at a 16% growth).
Glad to see Apple doing well. Competition is always good. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Macs with or without cheese ?
- mturn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1can any of you read? the original poster made no reference to Mac being a company; he merely reflected on the content of the article, being that the Mac product line will account for roughly $2B of Apple's >$4.5B quarter revenue. maybe try reading the article before picking apart other people's posts. or take a class in the english language.
- Angostura, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Ah yes, the Performas, truly the nadia of Mac design.
- jeebus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Don't get me wrong, I like macs (I own a couple), and I read just about every rumour about them. But this story is boring tripe and if it was about any other company, except maybe Google it would have never been dugg enough to make the front page.
- Marquart, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Yes kids...this is why you should not do drugs.
- TaylorAB, on 10/12/2007, -10/+8This doesn't really surprise me. Apple has grown so much and I think most of that growth comes from the iPod. I'm so happy the Apple ripened.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4@kelly
wrong, Apple makes a LOT of money with Mac. They're just making even more money with the iPod. - tjl2015, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1@fromage:
Seriously dude:

- zetsurin, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Here is Ricky Gervais doing 'The Windows Guy from the Apple Ads Tries to Get a Date':

I realized macintosh with the performa 6200cd. After that computer I vowed never again. - elektricki, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3Seriously I thought I was the only one. That's sad.
- kenz0r, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1DAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNG!
- kolop1, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1 The headline is false. They made most of their money on the Ipod, not the Mac. It should say Apple makes 2 billion dollars.
- noreturn, on 10/12/2007, -8/+0I like Apple as much as the next fanboy, but crap like this should not be making the front page. We really don't need to know what Steve Jobs had for breakfast, or how much revenues will total this quarter.
- Heembo, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2Watch out for the ripe apple. Before you know it, it's gunna get rotten!
- whiteguysamurai, on 10/12/2007, -11/+1The mac mini is $299 right?
- jeebus, on 10/12/2007, -18/+7How did this boring tripe make it to the front page? I'm just going to guess it's because it's a story about Apple.
- flag564, on 10/12/2007, -12/+1Im sure after the 100 Billion that MS makes, they can spare a few dollars to Apple.
- Fromage, on 10/12/2007, -20/+1If you're a religious closed minded republican zealot who believes the fairy tale story of Adam and Eve, don't bother picking an Apple, because 'Genesis' says not to! However, the Apple is too tempting for the evolved species of human that usually lean toward the left and have a few million extra brain cells to spare after choosing not to drive a Hummer X3.
