- bcreavis, on 10/12/2007, -2/+35Rant: People really shouldn't break up an article like that into 14 different pages.
- XPrivateXRyanX, on 10/12/2007, -7/+23Woo Hoo another version that will be pirated.
- mateo60, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17I agree. I hate that. It's just so they can fit more ad banners on their page. It's annoying.
- BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9They blotted out the sun once. We had to hug in the shade.
P.S. Brush your teeth. - evil-doer, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6here i was thinking this might be a preview of the final version, show some new features not in the beta, etc. no, this review is based on the now ancient beta and everything said has been said already. months ago there was even video tutorials showing all of these features already. nothing new here folks.
first look? no, inaccurate. - MrSarcasm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2oooh *next page* nice, that's *next page* a *next page* really cool *next page* article. *next page* I like *next page* pages!
- Kazbaeden, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Hm, for 15 pages there's really little content in this article. In fact, I'd say there are more advertisements than content.
- spyderfreek2k, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I used the beta, side by side, CS2 worked *better* as in consistent speed, but cs3 was faster in certain aspects, im not a fan of judging things on beta, so i will wait till final to decide.
- actionscripted, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3And now if you pirate the "Ultimate" version that includes their "Web" package you won't have to pirate any of the old Macromedia stuff!
Though I'd hoped Dreamweaver would've been tossed aside... - mikehartor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ohhhhh... Rubbish! I'd better go and drink some vodka
- glitch1501, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2this is cake town!
- JorgeGonzalez, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5Where's the screenshots from all the other awesome stuff Adobe is announcing tomorrow?
- kwilliam, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2It's a beta product - there's bound to be bugs! :-P
- slapded, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5im scared of bees.
- gboodhoo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1the most usable + flexible implementation of nondestructive filters I've seen is actually in After Effects. Drag & drop, edit, reorder, apply to single layers or groups, with a little legwork - use transfer modes + vector/bitmap masks. A bit surprising that Adobe wouldn't implement in PS also, but 2 radically different codebases I suppose.
- codethis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1did he have to use so many bugs?

- RHEEK, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I'm wondering why this is filed under apple...
- ChocoMidget, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1cacoe what you need to do is learn how to use Stamp Visible, odds are you wont find that in a textbook because its not listed in the menu system. Basically it takes all of your layers and creates one flattened version which sits on top. Hit Shift, Option, Cmd, E for Mac or Shift, Alt, Windows, E for windows.
- uchimalbanish, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Quite strange I don't like such articles.
- kwilliam, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I think it was 15 pages. And yes, it it extremely annoying.
- dbiedny, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I think this article didn't have enough Spanish words, English is not the proper language for an article about imaging software. The author also left out any information about Letraset Colorstudio, Silicon Beach Software's Digital Darkroom, and the ever-important PixelPaint product. There is no mention of third party plugins - how am I going to create type on a path to enlightenment? Photoshop does not have obvious options for handling pan-dimensional, holographic images, and there's no way to process cheese food. The article did a terrible job of explaining the role of gravity in layer masking, and lacked any meaningful insight into the underlying mechanisms involved in pixel mashing and check cashing. I think the author should stick to writing about the history of DIGG and the importance of WebTV. I think the author smells like apple cider and cement, and has no business covering the analog digit field. He should ask MacWife to remove the article, and replace it with the transcript of the final episode of MASH. That would make us all so happy, dontcha think?
- mateo60, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4It's SOOO much faster than CS2 on my Intel Mac.
- nazcreative, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I have been using the beta version for a little bit now. I really like some of the new features and looks. My biggest concern is that they are only upgrading Photoshop but I own the complete creative suite. So does this mean that I have to wait till CS3 comes out to get the new version of Photoshop, or do I buy it now and then upgrade the other programs individually and spend a lot more money. It not a BIG deal, but I hope they plan to address this issue.
- allaboutdatiki, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3nondestructive filters .... mmmm ... glllll ....
- BrandonAbell, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Buried as Spam. . . The "article" is less than 50% actual content.
- turpenine, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I have been hands on and first look with the beta for a few months and it has some ups and downs.
I really do enjoy the new UI. But now, it takes time to initialize everything and the smart selection tool is completely useless. - masamunecyrus, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2http://www.maclife.com.nyud.net:8090/article/inside_photoshop_cs3
This one works for all of the pages. - paulburke, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0yes yes yes yes yes
I can't wait to get my hands on these apps.
(i agree with the page criticisms.) - ajchavar, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2faster than CS2 on my macbook too, but i will concede that after using it consistently (i.e. 1-3x a day for a month) it seems to slow down.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -19/+15Digg Me Down!
- sigintop, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Anyone know how the extended version relates to the medical, engineering, etc... fields? I hope you'll be able to do cool things like image reconstruction, facial transplants, etc... That would be work paying for.
- zachblume, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3Digg The Previous Up!
- joeycerone, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1The beta was definitely faster than CS2 on my intel mac, just more buggy and crashed pretty often.
Can't wait for the Final Release of CS3 this week! - pete04, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4Great article, very informative. Love the screenshots.

- crawfishsoul, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2Countless people litter digg with replies to crappy little comments like yours.
- stlcadet11, on 10/12/2007, -16/+3Hope the speed problems are only a beta problem...
- eMximeR, on 10/12/2007, -33/+4MACZ CANT RUN PHOTOSHOP NOOBS!!!
