Finder Sidebar network aliases - not so much...
macosxhints.com — Basically, if you create an alias to a network item (such as the iTunes library on machine1) then rename the sidebar item on machine2, it will rename the actual folder on machine1! This of course will break anything else that looks for that particular folder on machine1.
