- kmcknight, on 11/04/2009, -0/+10Too bad they make you turn off all your electronic devices before take-off...

- JoeNaguib, on 11/04/2009, -0/+4How long before some dumbass sues for not being calmed by this app?
- Rsulliv1, on 11/04/2009, -1/+4If you fail, and the app can't mentally cure your anxiety, the iphone injects you with Xanax.
- yabos, on 11/04/2009, -0/+2The FAA only requires that you turn off these devices below 10000 feet. This is because this is typically the most dangerous time during the flight, i.e. takeoff or landing.
- Nothlit, on 11/04/2009, -0/+2That's just an assumption that you're making. Perhaps they really do mean "turn it completely off." Unfortunately the airlines are not really clear on that instruction.
- inigomntoya, on 11/04/2009, -1/+3They are charging people money for this?
- Floobins, on 11/04/2009, -1/+2£2.99?! I don't know... it's no iFart Mobile...
- tocheeba, on 11/04/2009, -0/+1I still hate flying. I'd rather take a 20 hour drive to Florida than fly. Just not a fan of heights.
- Mossman85, on 11/04/2009, -1/+2Xanax
- BrBybee, on 11/04/2009, -1/+2Or you could just Google "fear of flying" and pay nothing!
- Pinkertinkle, on 11/04/2009, -0/+1My going theory regarding that particular policy was that it was to prevent video recordings of plane crashes (which most often occur during landing and take off) causing bad publicity for a particular airline.
- crashingechelon, on 11/04/2009, -0/+1Well like what yabos said, since take off and landing are the most dangerous part they need your full attention. Having your device on or off doesn't make a difference, although they do tell you to turn it off. A majority of the people I see on a flight that have an iPhone they just put it on airplane mode and never turn it off. Same for a laptop, if they're doing work on it they just close the screen and reopen it to continue working when they say it's ok.
- psicolonia, on 11/04/2009, -0/+1Nope, that's not that, AT ALL! Google it.

- crashingechelon, on 11/04/2009, -2/+2You don't necessarily have to. I just put my iPhone on airplane mode and lock the screen. They mainly tell you to turn off your electronic devices so they have your full attention before they get to cruising altitude. Same goes for a landing, they need your full attention there as well.
