- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3you dont need to put a credit card with itunes. just change your settings with no credit card. They dont even know my credit card number and I downloaded it.
- foshizol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I love BSG, But the wining on this board is annoying. Itunes is a free download. Download it and quit your bitching. Once you've watched the program uninstall Itunes. Jesus H. Christ!! It's hard to be the smartest man in the room.
- macbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Using the ITMS url and the directions found here http://www.andrewescobar.com/archive/2005/12/06/apple-adds-nbc-to-itunes/ you can download the video without iTunes. Works with the preview clips and other free videos as well.
- finknottle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Its not Apples fault that non-US residents can't watch this stuff. Its the networks!
- DJMac317, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I just don't understand why people don't like iTunes. What is wrong with iTunes, it's the easiest to use.
- thor17usa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Does anyone else know where I can get more free stuff on iTunes. This is awesome!
- NoahK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sucks for everyone that can't or won't download this. It's a GREAT look at behind the scenes!!
- mahoutie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Not available in UK store.
- DPowers08, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is a benefit of using iTunes. Most people wouldn't find it without using the software, and it isn't directed toward those users. If you are complaining that you need iTunes, that is what Apple wants. This is a way to get people to possibly join.
- vatchea, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"US only no digg"
thank you I really wanted to know that you didn't digg it because its US only. - dhaelis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"You can also get DIGGNATION for Free!"
Yeah, but you know, you have to install A BROWSER to get to it, and like, that's too much hassle. ;-) - HackWithRamzi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Scratch that, that isn't a direct link to the file - only to the 30 sec preview.
I agree about the Tricia thing! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2US only, no digg. Bad Apple..
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"but hey, Tricia Helfer."
I'm I the only one that thinks see has a hot body, but ugly face? Now I'd do boomer and that aussie reporter cyclon!!! - akhepcat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hmm.. pymusique shouldn't have a problem with this, but my install is a little old....
ooh.. new name. and much newer build.
http://nanocrew.net/software/sharpmusique/
Dang. it doesn't find the TV stuff. Sigh. - Snyder, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Hmmm, never noticed until now (since it's taking much longer than music to download) that iTunes puts the music in a separate temp folder while it's downloading. For me this folder is within my chosen iTunes music folder "C:MediaMusic" in a sub directory "DownloadsSci Fi Inside - Battlestar Galac.m4v.tmp". And the video file is labeled as a generic "download.m4v" and comes along with an extra temp file named "Info.plist".
Sorry, just thinking out loud. - turgiddahlia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The "Aussie reporter cylon" is actually a New Zealander. She used to be Xena Warrior Princess - don't remember her name.
- wizpig64, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1i have itunes, but i dont have an itunes account. the problem is, when i try to create an account it says i need a credit card. being only 15, i dont have one. grr.
- Echo5ive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Considering that TONS of scifi fans outside of the US already have seen all episodes so far, I was hoping that Universal (or whoever holds the rights) would have enough sense to let this be available outside of the US too.
Boo, TV companies! - Sonic84, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2free is a good price.
- antdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0 AlmostEvil: TV.com used to have non-itunes version, but in streaming videos though. It's gone now since I posted this long ago: http://www.aqfl.net/?q=node/view/2081 ... :(
- antdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Is this only season 1 stuff? Just wondering...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If the first season only had 13 episodes how many more episodes will be in the second season?
- antdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0OK, it looks like this is a preview for the new episodes in Janaury 2006. See http://www.starpulse.com/news/index.php/2005/12/22/get_battlestar_galactica_interviews_aamp article. Not season 1 it look like.
- jdryyz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The "Aussie reporter cylon" is actually a New Zealander. She used to be Xena Warrior Princess - don't remember her name.
Lucy Lawless?
Oh, and Tricia is one fine piece of ass. - flickerbrain, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Personally, I would not be surprised if we see NBC Universal release more promotional video content, like the the one mentioned, as a way to create buzz for various shows. It makes for a great way to let people watch special, behind the scenes like content such as SciFi Inside, even if they miss it, without it being of much cost to the channel (rerunning a half hour special instead of something with potentially better ratings). Of course, this will probably be done mostly with cheaply producible shows, like SciFi Inside and such.
- timcoughlin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Oh my god you are all such a bunch of ***** whiners. themeparkphoto - I wet myself looking at your post, you actually go through all those inane, time consuming banal anal procedures just so you dont have iTunes installed?
Why the hell should apple give all you freeloaders a free download without at least a chance of making some sales? They don't owe you anything. It costs them bandwidth to deliver you the file. Enter the CC details, or get your parents, and then have you free download. Then if you really are stupid enough to not like quicktime, uninstall it. Sheesh. - duke_nate, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2"I was a bit afraid as I thought last season ended without a bang"
Ok, i really have to ask, did you even watch the end of last season? - linuxnut, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Outstanding, can't wait for Jan.
- AlmostEvil, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Anywhere where this can be downloaded without the need of itunes?
- cosjef, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The 'couple of seconds' of preview footage is probably exactly the same thing available on the sci.com website. They have a preview including a few seconds from the new episode: "Resurrection Ship, Part 1"
http://www.scifi.com/battlestar/ - breakfree, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0new episodes in Jan... can't wait
- test5477, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0great show, need more episodes per season though.
Seasons seem way too short.
iTunes is not that bad people, no one is forcing you to use it. Its good marketing to have some exclusive content. its been around for years now and I never heard of a rootkit or spyware from apple. - AirShark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Jan 6th....mmmmmmm Delicious Season Two....mmmmmmm
- amihaic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Crap. Why do I have to register to get the free stuff???
I won't do that. - dotuplink, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0BATTLESTAR GALACTICA RULES!!! SCREW THE CYLONS!!
- poipoipoi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1iTunes hassle = no Digg.
SciFi.com has a boatload of behind the scenes stuff, accessible from anywhere in the world. Probably the same stuff? - macbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Actually that doesn't let you download the full video, just the preview. So much for that :-(
- Nullifidian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow if someone hasn't bother installing a browser by now, how would they even be able to read your message?
iTunes is a fantastic interface, but since it intrudes upon a system like numerous other front-end programs I'll never install it again. It wanted a freaking credit card and placed numerous crap in system startup.
If there's only one method to obtain said media then forget it... - colonelpanic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0
thanks for the direct iTMS link- i love BSG and watch it religiouly. - TimmyK., on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"great show, need more episodes per season though.
Seasons seem way too short."
First season was only 13 episodes because that is the way they usually handle new series. They order a shorter season and if it is hit then it gets more episodes the next season. The second season of BSG is actually 20 episodes, it's just that Sci-Fi broke it in half, and spaced it out more. The new DVD set is only half the season. The new episodes starting in January aren't the third season, but the second half of the second season. It was misleading of them to promote the last episode as the "final episode of the season" when it wasn't, but they were just trying to drum up interest in the show. The Third season will probably start some time in the summer. I think BSG is one of the best sci-fi shows ever, and definitely the best show on TV right now. Sorry Lost, but BSG kicks butt. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1eh, they're ok. They just use the choppy editing techniques and 'zoom in' effects that the last 3 Star Wars movies used, which doesn't work as intended.
I forgot the other VERY IMPORTANT difference:
OBG: Starbuck is a dude
NBG: Starbuck is a chick - airhead, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"NBG has: Really bad special effects that tries to copy the last 3 Star Wars movies"
I think the special effects are awesome in the new BSG...keeping in mind that BSG is a tv show on a tv show budget.
I'm all for the new BSG. - ditangquan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0we've been watching BG on the TV from an ipod video....looks pretty good on a regular TV, just don't expect HD. better than xvid or divx.
dugg - treelovinhippie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0WOW, Let's all download the first free episode and then 50% will want to buy the rest of the season!
 - HackWithRamzi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Direct link to the .m4v file:
http://a1.phobos.apple.com/Video/ed/a9/8c/mzi.hndrfafp..320x240.h264.D2.p.m4v - saxmanlarry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Is it just me, or are they giving just an ad for the show and to get you pumped to download the episodes rather than giving you an actual "free episode"? Doesn't seem like such a big deal at that point.

http://www.highlandmusic.org - evil-doer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hey bioret, mind telling me how to do that? i cant find any settings, and when i try to create an account, step 3 is credit card info, no way to bypass it.
- vpisteve, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's really mostly a recap of everything so far, with a couple seconds of "preview" footage at the end. Nothing much new, but hey, Tricia Helfer.
Dugg. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You can also get DIGGNATION for Free!
