- BlueStarr, on 10/27/2007, -4/+33Excellent image gallery.
- danecluv, on 10/27/2007, -0/+24Is it my imagination or everything looks like iTunes now.
- Elranzer, on 10/28/2007, -2/+16Am I the only person who hates Cover Flow and feels it's inefficient for browsing music, let alone my hard drive?
- buggedcom, on 10/26/2007, -1/+11wishing for a tabbed finder though
- bratterscain, on 10/26/2007, -0/+8I think you're the one with the issues.
- mrloco, on 10/26/2007, -1/+8I've got it installed now.
I think the Finder update is worth the update all by itself. Damn that old one was awful. - lordsandwich, on 10/26/2007, -1/+7Yep, they finally unified the look across applications. Let's hope they stick with it until at least 10.6, having brushed metal mixed with other themes really annoyed me in Tiger.
- DarkDx, on 10/26/2007, -3/+9Waiting for hackintosh...
- benjic, on 10/26/2007, -2/+7I really hope someone posts the wallpapers from leopard soon.
- threemagic, on 10/26/2007, -1/+6I'll go down in flames with you. I dugg you up. Unfortunately it's a popularity contest here... so unless you get something breaking and get it first.. it's hard to get a front pager.
- chrismgtis, on 10/26/2007, -1/+6I do like how Compiz as so many options, but typical of anything in Linux it isn't very user friendly.
- meatmcguffin, on 10/26/2007, -3/+8XP's default pastel green and blue looks very fisher pricey
- techweenie1, on 10/26/2007, -1/+5Version: 7.0.5730.11 no worky....
- Mudcrutch, on 10/26/2007, -1/+5uh at any apple store.
- jbhannah, on 11/05/2007, -0/+4OS X's drag-and-drop is far superior to Windows', though. In Windows you can barely drag a file further than one folder deeper without having two windows open. OS X, you can drag-and-drop a file any direction in Finder, up or down; between applications; onto the dock; across Exposé, presumable across Spaces in Leopard…Windows, not a chance. Window to window, folder to subfolder, to the desktop, MAYBE into some applications (but out of, dream on).
- nomore, on 10/26/2007, -0/+4They do have a screenshot for stacks... it's on the last page.
- Gumby_Mac, on 10/26/2007, -2/+6The Butter is a lie!!!
- Elranzer, on 10/26/2007, -4/+8PNG works in IE7. Please upgrade.
- Balanced, on 10/26/2007, -0/+4You could just buy a Mac and have it actually be supported!
- neodorian, on 10/26/2007, -0/+4I like Emerald and Compiz. You can make it glossy, flat, clear, whatever. As simple or flashy as you want and in any color.
- arhseven, on 10/27/2007, -3/+6Get the f@%king butter!
- woodcoxcb, on 10/26/2007, -0/+3well, he's on a mac, where png in IE will never work.
surfing digg on IE for mac is a sin punishable by permanent, sudden and IMMEDIATE death. - wpjmurray, on 10/26/2007, -0/+3So Apple will wait till 2013 for it?
- mrloco, on 10/26/2007, -0/+3I wasnt taking that pile of brown into consideration. Ubutu, being linux gives you endless opportunities to customise your interface though.
Still, why they still use brown is beyond me. - inactive, on 10/26/2007, -0/+3Way to go stereotyping mac users like that. Idiot.
- ardnut, on 10/26/2007, -4/+7Can you cut and paste files yet?
- GetShorty, on 10/26/2007, -2/+5I've heard that software update doesn't work yet. Are there any other issues one should be aware of before installing?
- meatmcguffin, on 10/26/2007, -0/+2Nope, just copy and paste :/
- DarkDx, on 10/26/2007, -0/+2Bury nikger, report him and block him.
- mrloco, on 10/26/2007, -2/+4How hard would it be for apple to add in one ***** button to turn off the menubar's transparency?
I know I will get used to it, but for the time being its well annoying. - ckSubs, on 11/05/2007, -0/+2It's not dangerous at all. Just do it how Windows does: when you cut the file is "greyed out" and when you paste it is THEN totally removed from the original location. If you copy something else before you paste, the file is restored.
Don't try to justify Apple here. Not having a file system cut/paste is absolutely stupid in 2007. - Neverwinter004, on 10/26/2007, -0/+2Over90000's name is a meme from 4chan (the actual meme is OVER9000!!!).
Just by noticing that he doesn't actually own an internet cafe, he's just a troll. - mrloco, on 10/26/2007, -1/+3Usenet FTW
- roostersheep, on 01/16/2009, -1/+3Digg would've usually picked up the URL and stopped it from being resubmitted, however your URL has been pasted twice accidently and so leads to the wrong page. Your story would've likely been dugg up if it hadn't been for that.
- DelMonte, on 10/26/2007, -0/+2Don't you know that you can resize the Dock? Just click and drag on the divider line. You can have it display 16x16 icons if you want.
- techweenie1, on 10/26/2007, -5/+7IE & PNG ... a match made in hell.
- manitoba98xp, on 10/26/2007, -0/+2While those people should be banned, that is by no means a result of the OS they use. There are plenty of Windows users who behave like that. You should ban _those individuals_. Casting too broad a net is ridiculous, it'd be like banning all people of a certain race because a few were rowdy or disrespectful. It's absurd.
- fr34k5h0w, on 10/26/2007, -0/+2"The file "index-leopard.merged-1.sucatalog" couldn't be found on the server "swscan.apple.com"."
Ya, Software Updates still gives you an error when you load it, but I didn't have the airport problem mrloco reported. My HP printer won't work though, but I'm guessing that is from an Archive and Install. I might just wipe the drive completely and start over just to see. - antitab, on 10/27/2007, -0/+1I don't know. People love to hate on the new look: the semitransparent menubar, 3D Dock, exaggeration of the active window, and dark grey unified theme, but looking at these pictures, I can't help thinking, "This really is a beautiful OS."
- eleven, on 10/26/2007, -0/+1Ummm... you know you can make it pretty much any size you want and as a bonus you can put it on the sides as well.
- ckSubs, on 10/26/2007, -0/+1Just remember.... Apple doesn't use copy protection.
- jbhannah, on 10/26/2007, -0/+1Windoze was already dead.
Is there a necromancer in the interwebs? - dalesmatrix, on 10/26/2007, -0/+1Is software update currently broken for everyone else? Legit retail copy here from Australia.
- inactive, on 10/26/2007, -0/+1Actually, all it does is pop up a warning when I've submitted something from a previously submitted URL. If I was a bastard I'd have just ignored the message.
- shoovi, on 10/26/2007, -1/+2Hey and here is http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/07/10/11/road ... screen-shoot from Amiga's Workbench ;)
- manitoba98xp, on 10/26/2007, -0/+1As others have said, you can shrink it. I'd like to add that you can also hide it.
- fr34k5h0w, on 10/26/2007, -0/+1Update: Just checked software update and it works now.
- fishfishfish, on 10/26/2007, -1/+2I got mine at 10am UK time and followed the upgrade route. It works really well. The new Finder is definitely one of the best features in it, as is Spaces, which as a Linux user, I can't live without. Shame Firefox doesn't quite fit in with the new look chrome on the windows, though.
- ckSubs, on 10/26/2007, -0/+1Doesn't change the stupid 'shelf' dock when it's on the bottom. But side docks are the way to go.
