Extended warranties unwarranted, except for Apple's

  • netburnr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I didnt RTFA but I can honestly say the AppleCare warranty is worth it. I used to work at CompUSA, and the had a 2 year and a 3 year "laptop warranty". The 2 year was $250 bucks, and the 3 year was $350 bucks. That did not include the screen, if you wanted the screen covered, that is another $150. See where I'm going here....in most cases thats 1/3 to 1/2 of the price of the laptop. RIPOFF.

    AppleCare however, is 3 years, covers everything on the computer for $350. This also includes Apple phone support instead of some random third party that doesn't know jack about anything except the core system.

    So yeah, I agree with the title.
