- BadassCheese, on 10/12/2007, -19/+54Or you could right(ctrl)-click in iTunes 7 and select "find album artwork".
- tutivlahos, on 10/12/2007, -9/+22Not possible if you are not registered in iTunes.
- allanpat, on 10/12/2007, -6/+16or you could read about the software before you snark. it offers a lot more features than the Get Album Artwork in iTunes. It automatically searches the internet for you and allows you to choose the best result, then applies it to the entire album. iTunes only offers CD covers that exist in the iTunes library.
it also has a few other cool features... looking forward to downloading & trying it out. - neokyotodragon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10I doubt it. Most people have windows computers and any of them with ipods (which is a LOT) must use itunes.
- chulium, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Good to see a Google Pages website make the digg homepage. I think their service deserves this kind of credibility :)
- alephsmith, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6The problem with itunes is that Album Art is not embedded in the song file.
Tunesleve on the other had does embed the pictures. - fbeecher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5iTunes has a limited collection of artwork... sometimes it surprises me though.
- nekteo, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10@ImTheDarkcyde
which I don't have. - ryMac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@ diabolus
You hate it, yet you never used it?
good argument dude.
I use iTunes because it meets all my music needs. It works seamlessly with my iPod, and it makes it easy to organize all my music. - spideykonfusion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4much easier...if you dont have >30gigs of music
- bot001220, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6"iTunes registration is free. all you need is a credit/debit card"
What about us broke college kids that don't have one? Not everyone has their parents pay for everything, you know. - randomvictim, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Meh, my Zune does this automatically. /lol, zune.
- Protoss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3What better way to resist the digg-effect than to have Google handle the load, surely they can handle it...
Yeah I do the same thing. - converge, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4iArt by iPodSoft
- systimax, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Am I the only one who likes the fact that with Itunes 7 the artwork is not in the file. I have a 60 Gig ipod with 90 Gigs of music. Im always fighting space and love the fact that I can save a gig with out having artwork in every single song.
Someone show me a utility or a way i can get art thats not in the apple store that stores the art where the apple store does. - wogboi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Does anybody know if their is a program that automatically finds and places song lyrics in itues?
- ericnmu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Can it save art to the tags?
- bdbr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Nice! This provides two benefits over iTunes 7 "find album art":
1. It works on iTunes 6, so I can put off the upgrade to that bloated doggy iTunes 7 for awhile longer.
2. It actually works.
Dugg! - Justin6512, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Doesn't work on Mac, well that just sucks!
Can anyone name a Mac version of a program like this??? - fester293, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2iart also puts lyrics in too.
- spideykonfusion, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3uh....im sure apple had a music player that supported art and syncing a *little* before the zune came out....
- Pulse_Instance, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3No it isn't because you are using xp 64bit I'm using it and am currently downloading album artwork using tunesleeve
- montiff, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4I've tried the tune sleeve and it was eh.
You guys should try this handy app.
http://www.yvg.com/itunesartimporter.shtml - Nerevar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Album Art Aggregator (http://team.thenexusnet.com/nexus/AAA/) is a great tool for retrieving album art. You should all check it out.
- ArnoldTPants, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Who cares? There are a ton of programs that do this. Call me when I don't have to embed every song with image art and can just use folder.jpg for the entire albulm.
- iskatebad914, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2is there a mac version of something with this much functionality anywhere? i want one that can find even obscure albums, not just top 40.
- plugitin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I need something for Linux that is like this, or like the Godfather.
EasyTag and AmaroK just don't do it for me... - oneiroi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I must be doing something wrong.
I right click, ask it to "find artwork" and it stays a music symbol.
I've even tried to add them manually with drag and drop, and somehow the pictures don't make it to my ipod. - bot001220, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"i suggest gettting a job"
I do have a job, just not a debit/credit card. Settle down, Nancy. - aflores3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1iArt adds lyrics...
http://www.ipodsoft.com/site/index.php?n=IArt.HomePage - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4ipod and itunes becoming more like zune?
- RickyBennett, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1this is of topic but has any one eles besides me figured out how to get the tv shows menu to show on the ipod video yet with out having to download and install a another software it just to get it to show the tv show menu ????????
- spideykonfusion, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1anyone know of a mac program that does this? I have a buttload of music and I want a program that'll help do it for me quickly, my musics really organized.
- fbeecher, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I use Cover Scout on my Mac (http://www.equinux.com/us/products/coverscout/index.html). Sometimes it acts... weird, but you get used to it pretty quick. You have to pay for it, but it's totally worth it.
- randomvictim, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4'Ring ring, it's called a Zune.
- rcran, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Can someone suggest a mac equivalent?
- n3tfury, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1or you could just use foobar which has had this for awhile with the album_art plugin. much better and not a resource hog. also tag & rename to retrieve not only tag info, but album art from Amazon as well.
http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/8938/singlecolumndonequ9.jpg - Backdraft32, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I usually just go to wikipedia, search for the album title, click on the cover pic, right click and save. Works for most albums I have in my collection.
- Omicron, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2agreed badasscheese.
@allanpat: actually you CAN use any artwork you want for any song/album. it's really simple: go to wikipedia, type in album name. right click on the album art select copy picture. paste into itunes under album art.
the ONLY advantage this has over itunes is that you don't have to register FOR FREE with itunes music store. every other feature it lists already exists in itunes 7. personally... i'd rather register with apple than download unknown software on my PC =/
the funny thing is the guy puts an image from itunes software on his website that says "drag album art here" then acts like you can't add custom album artwork in itunes. lol - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2"which I don't have."
so get your mommy to do it, go cry
"What about us broke college kids that don't have one? Not everyone has their parents pay for everything, you know."
Um, as a broke college student myself, i suggest gettting a job (which i have, thank you), get a bank account. you have to pay for college you know, it's not free. Go down to most any bank, they have a free checking account option. FREE.
man you kids are bitchy. - Omicron, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1meh
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1yes, but can it run linux?
- dsheehan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0http://www.softpointer.com/tr.htm
Not a perfect solution, but it certainly gets the job done.
Been using it for a while now to manage my tags and album art.
Has a good tool (pretty common though) to search amazon.com and get album tags and art semi-automatically. - Maxtrosity, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Tag&Rename is a great tool to add album work, has tons of other features too. Googleit.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4"free...all you need is a credit/debit card"
Not really "free" then, is it? - silouette747, on 10/12/2007, -10/+6Smart idea make a program for iTunes and make run only on windows... even though the majority of iTunes users use Macs.
- nreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Doesn't work for me: "failed to initialize properly"
could it be because I'm on XP x64? - spideykonfusion, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0funny how the company with the "i" in it doesnt have any mac versions of its program....thats pretty helfpul...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1You really should wait for vista to go 64. xp 64 is total crap.
- Diabolus, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0I doubt it. Most people have windows computers and any of them with ipods (which is a LOT) must use itunes.
FALSE
i hate itunes, i never used it. I used the winamp plugin for a while and got fed up of having to refresh my 200gb collection everytime i added an album. I scrapped the ipod software and installed rockbox. Now my ipod is all it can be, all it took was letting go of all that is apple software. -
