- gamehack, on 03/25/2008, -0/+9Hi, Currently as you can see it only shows articles, which is not much more than you can get from RSS. Some of the features I'm planning to implement in the future (obviously if there is interest):
- Integration with Growl (e.g. you can get notification when your own submissions get digged or your friends', etc)
- Tracking statistics (e.g. which sections do you visit most often, who diggs your stories, etc)
I want to fully integrate the app with the OS, so it provides a seamless operation. Obviously, you want the things which you're interested in to be tracked in the background and be notified only when something happens. As this app is using the Digg API, it can do a few interesting bits which an RSS reader cannot.
As a developer, I believe native applications can provide a better experience for the end-user and this is the reason while I'm doing this. Also a nice UI is a must from my POV. - vault, on 03/25/2008, -0/+6I would use this...you should make it though so I have the option of keeping it in the menubar instead of the dock, like how Coversutra does it. My main use for it would be the growl notifications.
Nice idea. - kevdotbadger, on 03/25/2008, -0/+6I like the look of it.
- robbh66, on 03/25/2008, -0/+4I'd use it.
- blahpro, on 03/25/2008, -0/+3Sounds like some cool stuff, Milen.
I like where this is going :) - zenatek, on 03/26/2008, -0/+3Cool, it would be great if you could read the comments associated with the articles as well because I find that half the fun of Digg.
- Crath, on 03/26/2008, -0/+3I love it, i just suggest you add a "diggs" column before the title and author :)
- trotskyist, on 03/26/2008, -0/+3Cool stuff, how far off do you think you are from releasing it?
- DROB003, on 03/26/2008, -0/+2This may be a stupid question but how do you digg an article using this?
- cave, on 03/26/2008, -0/+2Do want!!
- kkiran, on 03/25/2008, -1/+2Looks cool, pretty slick design... Make it a lil' more colorful rather than jus the bland text... it rocks! Dugg :)
- actionscripted, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1Nice and clean, but the update, popular and upcoming buttons should be at the top.
- gamehack, on 03/25/2008, -1/+2Thanks. Your support is greatly appreciated.
- ResonantToe, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1Very very cool! I support. Growl notifications and menu bar options would be awesome, but I still like it as is.
Great work :) - NaziHatinChimp, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1It would be neat if it could do things digg couldn't do, like follow your friends better, have chat integration etc.
- Franfois, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1I second.
- dpowre, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1yes please.
- ploke, on 03/25/2008, -2/+2I love that you are giving this a shot, but I don't really see the point right now.
What are the advantages of this over browsing or using RSS feeds?
Also, how would summaries be viewed? - legoalert33, on 03/26/2008, -2/+1I'd use it, but not on a mac.
