- MoeB, on 10/11/2007, -0/+89I loved the AT&T part.
- jakesonaplane, on 10/11/2007, -4/+82Ohhh jeez. If anything iPhone-related deserves to make homepage in the coming weeks, this is it...
- fanboydcs, on 10/11/2007, -3/+67That was amazing..
- Jwzupancic, on 10/11/2007, -2/+60David. Pogue. Is. Awesome.
- russh, on 10/11/2007, -1/+53For those who don't know, before becoming a "tech guy", David spent about ten years working the orchestra pit and as an arranger for Broadway musicals.
See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Pogue - smurf22, on 10/11/2007, -2/+49Finally something on digg about the iphone that didnt piss me off.
- frieddonuts, on 10/11/2007, -1/+47Hmm, Pogue can hold a note. Who knew?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+43Apple is sure getting its money's worth out of that free iPhone...
- GloverCom, on 10/11/2007, -2/+29Shameless. (And better than Cats... You know the rest...)
- Alegoo92, on 10/11/2007, -0/+23I love David Pogue so much.
- kingygk, on 10/11/2007, -3/+23I busted a gut laughing at that. That is almost as funny as Leo Laportes review of the zune. That was great to see him say the zune was a piece of crap!
Watch this video on the zune. Funny as hell. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZXiLY4bo80 - Sarawanan, on 10/11/2007, -0/+20David Pogue has done some great entertaining, yet informative videos. Congrats to him!
- Aggaman, on 10/11/2007, -1/+18Hilarious. Especially the random people they got to sing.
- Magiclad, on 10/11/2007, -2/+18This vid filled me with joy. And joyness.
- Mediaright, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12Pogue actually got his start as a broadway accompanist. He even used to be the go-to-guy in New York for composers and singers who wanted to get their sheet music computerized.
- fowleryo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10I thought that was the best part. Surprisingly, they sang pretty well...
- jvq1958, on 10/11/2007, -3/+12Two great videos on the one day. This one - great fun, and the CNET "comparison" real life versus advertising.
Apple has kicked the hugest of goals with this one. iPods (and Intel) breathed new air into the Macintosh. This will have a similar flow on effect.
You have to admire the sophisticated approach that Apple represents these days - and there is so much more on the near term horizon - Leopard, iLife updates, new phone-less ipods, iPhone updates, and not too far off I would guess 3G iPhones.
The only chink in the armour that I can see is the decision to lock the iPhone up with single carriers in each market place. If the iPhone is not Vodafone in Australia then I will have a hard time getting it as a phone. Similar sentiments will exist in every market they sell into and multi-year lockouts seem unnecessary now that they have really proved its appeal in the US. - ayanamisama, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8That was fun. Good job, Pogue!
- steven401, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9It's under News » Technology » Apple at the moment, nothing about videos there.
- sneakerelph, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5cause he's already married?
- cgruber, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6It needs to be in the Awesome section.
- SantaClauz, on 10/11/2007, -5/+10The first iPhone related article I can stand. This is the ONLY iPhone thing that should make the front page for the next few weeks.
- DeezKnots, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6It's sarcastic, funny, and true. He would be a fag if the song was, "I want a ***** phone". Maybe you're in denial and would like a ***** phone or maybe a ballsack headset. Don't hate the phone. Because it is just a phone...ipod, browser,... etc, etc, etc, etc!
- DeathJux, on 10/11/2007, -4/+9I didn't click on it for a while, as it was yet another iPhone submission, but holy ***** that was incredible! Very very well done!
- Ireland, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Here.. this video clip is over 20 minuted long, but you get the gist from the first few minutes: http://blog.wildform.com/2007/06/david_pogue_sings_about_tech_s.html
- TheMongo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Podcasts> NY Times > Circuits Video Podcast. I just subscribed, myself. It should be up soon
- antdude, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Original music video source: http://video.on.nytimes.com/?fr_story=f390265dcbb9e1f1da97a69637e921d39b6c99aa
- SPECOPS, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5The same reason you don't marry your brother/sister but (hopefully) love him/her so much.
- superlad, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Does anyone know if you can download that from iTunes? Seriously.
- Miche1987, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Go kill yourself.
- pabloD, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4you can subscribe to Pogue's NYT video podcast, it's the last episode.
- launchpadtt, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Clearly they're not giving David Pogue enough work to do
- Me1000, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4what a useful response!
- michaelinnotts, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I've always admired the dignity of the New York Times.
- cleverboy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Yes, well... glad you don't make the rules here, everyone does...
- radmarshallb, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Frank SInatra
- treoguy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Um... maybe you didn't get to the part about "It's got some flaws...no keys, no memory card, the battery's sealed, you can't replace it"... and where the AT&T static craps out!! If he was shilling for Apple, I doubt he would have made fun of all that stuff. And pointed out the high price either.
- kineticarl, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2You know, I don't own any Apple products, but it sure feels good to be an Apple shareholder lately.
- woot4fun, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2David is funny and can sing. I love it.. I had to show it to my wife who still thinks I am insane for waiting in line all day on the 29th..
- drumpat01, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2simply hilarious.
- stopsucking, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4That was horribly + terrific = horrific.
- Majora26, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2WOW... im getting sick of hearing about iphone... but that was pretty good!
- darkyoshi, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Just not in the AMAZING section, it would be to hard to find.
- Gurubanks, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Why can't America be obsessed with important things?
- GrassrootsNinja, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1He should squint less when singing, you can't see his eyes and it masks his expression. Lovely signing job, though.
- aaronm67, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Oops, I feel stupid. You're right.
- webtroll, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Dear David,
thanks for your article and the nice videos. Your cheque is in the mail. Steve says "Namaste".
Kind regards
Kathy
