- haydesigner, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11I'm pretty sure that 'guytoronto' is NOT a Mac user.
- nofxjunkee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9For this story the text is as important or more important than the video.
- maehem, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Did it ten years ago. It really is as simple as putting the sensor behind the LCD. If only Wacom would be resaonable with their pricing, more LCDs would come with this built in.
- Jedeye459, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9awesome... looked a little difficult to get safari to go to digg, but still very cool
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Troll Touch has offered touch screens for Mac laptops for some time. Even offers them for 24" iMacs and 30" Apple displays. Pretty sweet stuff.

- jonjon737, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6not perfect, but a good idea
- rcran, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5It would be a bit weird learning how to control it, but nice job.
- inkswamp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5No, it's a dessert topping.
- halleyscomet, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Still not quite perfect though:
"Other big...HUGE... problem with my tablet is the fact that the tablet's sensor is only 6x8 when the PowerBook's lcd is 12.5x8.5. I had to comprimise and so the sensor functions only work in a 6x8 rectangle roughly in the middle of the screen. You can actually see in the video the cursor stop when I move the pen above the sensor in Safari."
Very cool regardless. - e2interactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Once I took a couple of Apple 23" monitors and put a touch screen on the monitor and had a 23" touch screen. Did it for a clients trade show display. Wish I had video of it now.
- jordan314, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Dugg your comment because I didn't know about them, but holy crap they cost almost as much as the machines!
- DarkHorizon5, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3no. It's a drawing pad.
- jdavid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2awesome hack!!!
- bloaty, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1But troll touch dosent have tilt sensitivity, pressur sensitivity, multiple pens as multiple tools, built in erasers, right clik and left click buttons in the pens ect. Wacom is for artists, troll touch is for kiosks, but cool none the less.
- ShrimpCrackers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yup, this is great. Wacom is more sensitive, but alternatively you could install OSX86 on a tablet PC. The cheap ones go for about $450 on Ebay nowadays.

- grachi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2yea, but people might not like Windows OS
- jordan314, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Would love to do this to my Imac, take off the base and turn it into a tablet. With a 20" screen though and an 8" tablet the range would be a huge problem. I'll wait for a 20" tablet to come out or for someone else to figure this out.
- rofflcopterr, on 10/12/2007, -6/+6It's comments like that which make any Mac user seem unintelligent and childish.
Funny to say, I'm a Mac user.
Great job on this. At first I thought to myself "how many will think this is fake?" right up until Safari had trouble understanding 'digg' in the text input. Rather well done and the first time I've seen anything like this done to anything running OS X. - grachi, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1very cool indeed. Gives someone the option to have a tablet PC if they are Mac users. I guess Apple doesn't have enough demand to just make a tablet Mac themselves?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1or you could just buy a Tablet PC...
- robojames, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1a Wacom *is* a tablet
- mrdspecs, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2He's living the dream.
- Polymira, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Wasn't this on the front page yesturday?
- ersnyder, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Direct YouTube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGwnfD6KMG8&eurl=
- palmer, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Pen computing FAILED, and for good reason. Give it up.
- guytoronto, on 10/12/2007, -33/+4PowerBook in the title? Digg now, read (maybe) later! Yay Apple!!!

What is Digg?
