- dvdcr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1nice comparison... right?
- ucg1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Cell phones can't easilly be bought as gifts since you set up the contract at the same time buying it. An iPod is just a straight purchase. What's the big surprise here?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yea, it's spelled looser you moran!
(yea I know) - superal1394, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1iPods kick ass, they just need a better battery life
- BlueStarr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why would anyone type the words "I hate the iPod" or "Its an over rated blah blah" do you people react the same way with every product that you object too? I doubt it.
These comments aren't based on personal experience and knowledge of the device. It's all motivated by pathetic reasoning. And ultimately you are being manipulated by the very company that you favor so much.
Live your lives people and forget about this baseless conflict. Time to move on. I know Apple users have—well not all of us but a good number. I'm out. Peace. - BlueStarr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1^^^^ lol
"Ummm, LOSER."
I think you actually meant to type LOOSER. No harm done tho. Just keep it in mind for next time. - DM05, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How mature palmer.
A playground mentality is always impressive. - snoopdawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"I have a feeling that all these "Ipod is overrated... lol." folks just can't get mommy to buy them one."
My "mommy" doesn't buy me anything, and I'm still not interested in an ipod. I think they're overpriced & aesthetically uncompelling, and they don't play .wma files. I'm also sick of the ubiquitous ad campaign. That's reason enough for me, but your mileage may vary. - Gimpace, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"I have a W600i, I don't need your overrated iPods..."
Yeah... Well it's not really a debate over which is better, it's just interesting to see how the iPod is selling so well. I'm not too sure why everyone gets so aggressive in these threads. Oh well... - Lacero, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I like listening to music than another person talking dribble on the other end.
- sifelltneytandi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I bought a Creative Zen Micro about 6 months ago, and just recently lost it (think I dropped it in the snow). I'm replacing it with a 30GB iPod. Despite the fact that I prefer Creative's hardware, iPod has really monopolized 3rd party stuff, and I prefer to save a little by going 3rd party whenever possible. Plus, the 30/60GB versions are just too fricking beautiful to go with anything else.
- Bostonsox, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1who buys a phone for christmas? I buy a phone when my contract runs up. An Ipod (or any mp3 player) is something I buy for christmas. Stupid report.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1A true indecation that peole are stupid !!!!!!!!!!!!!
- andrebsd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well no duh people are buying more iPods than cell phones...
Thats becuase you have a monthly bill with the cellphone, you're not gonna buy your friend one; unless its unlocked to replace their current one. - tastypastry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I know this is unrelated but I have a question that I hope someone can answer.
My ipod mini headphone jack is broken and my warranty is no more. Are there any reliable trusted sites where I can send it in to be fixed? Thanks for the help. - dunos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I would imagine that if this study was applied to the UK then it would still be true. Everyone has a mobile phone, the market is at saturation point. Whereas the must have device this christmas has to be an ipod - something that I don't see everyone having... yet.
- Undertakernv, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"A true indecation that peole are stupid !!!!!!!!!!!!!"
lol - DewayneSmith, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"I have a feeling that all these "Ipod is overrated... lol." folks just can't get mommy to buy them one. There's nothing out there that even comes close to the 5g Ipod. Zen Vision is the only other competition, and that thing is unwatchable due to the suck ass screen they put in it."
I have a W600i, Zen Micro, Dell DJ and a PSP. I don't think "mommy" won't buy me an iPod. - GiggleByte, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My little unbiased review of my first ipod [4gb nano white]:
pros: it's cool looking, it's hella small, it plays all my mp3s
cons: screen scratches easily, battery life is way less than what's advertised
overall: I'm really happy with it. The scratches don't bug me as much as the weak battery. Just like with cell phones and laptops, I wish it lasted longer between charges. I don't use wmv's for music which I think is a joke anyway and ogg's are more of a philosophy thing with open source people than a practical thing imho so I never saw a point in converting my massive mp3 collection to them. As long as apple doesn't do anything stupid like not allowing mp3s to be loaded then I'm a happy camper. The earbuds are a joke but then again nobody forces you to use them. I never used the default headphones that came with any portable player anyway. - GiggleByte, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My first cell phone ever was a Motorola V3 Razr and my first mp3 player ever was an apple iPod nano. I'm glad I'm patient.
- nomechingues, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i just got my ipod video about 12 days ago and it is great but i still would just give it an 8.5 out of 10, ( still havnt found any 10 mp3 player) they all seem to have a problem of some sort
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I hope nobody buys me an iPod!
1. They can't play WMA or Ogg-Vorbis
2. Listening to music on those open-air earpieces can lead to hearing damage if you crank it up lound enough to drown out ambient noise.
My prediction: In 10 years, 90% of people in their 20s will have hearing damage. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ipod is great, but kindda more expensive then what it is really worth, give me those cheap 1go ones..
- sabbac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"My prediction: In 10 years, 90% of people in their 20s will have hearing damage."
They said the same thing when the Walkman came out, and guess what? It didn't happen.
iPods rule, and I can see why they are selling so well: because they work so well. - aznbond, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0It's because everyone and their dog has a friggin' cellphone.
- Abyss_908, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Surprising. I thought cells were the gadget everyone had and Ipods and other MP3 players would be the runner up.
- Araya213, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I have a feeling that all these "Ipod is overrated... lol." folks just can't get mommy to buy them one. There's nothing out there that even comes close to the 5g Ipod. Zen Vision is the only other competition, and that thing is unwatchable due to the suck ass screen they put in it.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0iPods are still too small for my taste. My current ipod is several pounds and about the size of a thick book. It's a 300GB EIDE drive in a USB enclosure that I tote around with my laptop.
I can't even imagine how much time it would take me to pare my music collection downto only 60gb worth of music to stick on an iPod. I'd prefer to be able to store my entire collection on it so I don't have to make decisions like that (or deal with all the organzational grief of knowing what's on it and what isn't and what should be and what shouldn't).
Hopefully it'll only be a matter of a couple of years. - aznboi04k, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0ipod don't have a monthly charge bill and doesn't punish you for over listening, duh!
- BlueStarr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Where are all the iPod killers? Dead themselves most likely.
Apple, the company with the most accumulated Death Knells in corporate history, is killing the competition.
Go Apple, it's your birthday! /shakes booty like white chicks in rock videos. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I thought BSD had the most death knells?
Because Netcraft confirms it. - Books, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Dam striaght it is. I work at a electronics retail store (compusmart)...and if another person asks me for an ipod...i'm going to kill...something.
- silkysaul, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0iPods are OVER-RATED!!!
- MonkeyFit, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0My name is Micheal J. Caboose and I HATE IPODS!
- DewayneSmith, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0I have a W600i, I don't need your overrated iPods...
