- voicimas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this is so cool, works perfectly on my ibook from dec.
- yensed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It would be cool if someone made a widget like that which can tell if the notebook is shaking. So you know if there is an earthquake going on...
+dugg - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1next thing - iDDR. Hold your laptop and tilt it in response to the music. Heck, make it an iTunes plugin!
- aeiou, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dude, this is awesome! I always wanted to have something to tell me that that motion sensor is actually working.
As far as the purpose of this as someone mentioned having the detectors in there amusing- the sensors are in case you drop your laptop- it will sense that and it shuts the hdd off in order to save the data. - Psykus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Super Monkey Ball for the Mac, anyone?
- rspeed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"fun widget, found it months ago, but its backwards on my HD-Dl Powerbook"
There's a version made specifically for those models, I believe.
I found this a while ago, too. Pretty damn cool, but rarely useful. - XedMada, on 02/16/2009, -0/+0fun widget, found it months ago, but its backwards on my HD-Dl Powerbook
- Judman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Cant get it to work on mine.
- mikeazorin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Eh. Doesn't work on my 3 year old iBook G4 800, but still cool.
- macattacks10, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0haha I just tried it on my Summer 2005 iBook G4, and it works pretty slick.
- ricodued, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0jhawk:
I THINK YOU'RE ON TO SOMETHING!
/gets coding - logofpi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I want a motion sensor app that acts as an ODOMETER that draws my motion as I walk around campus
- MattyLite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Damn, my Powerbook is a month too old to use this . . . *cry*
- jeffity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That's pretty fun I guess. I guess it'll let me know what's up with the crappy tables at school. Or is that wobbling the warped case on the 12" PowerBook?
- lollerskates, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's the Apple Revolution!
- theschles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Anybody got a similar one for Toshiba Tecra M4's?
- e3mw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is so cool
- Amplix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ahahaha... that's cool
- briansalo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Heh, just the fact that they stuck motion detectors into their laptops is amusing enough... I'm sure someone will find a good use for this somewhere...
- camtech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Racing games. Although it would be kinda hard.
- mlebeau, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Here's a game that some folks created at my school to use the tilt sensor to control a marble game. It got the prize for "wackiest" in the final competition.

http://www.cymediadesign.com/Labyrin3D/ - Sanchez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That's a cool little feature. Cool enough to digg, even if I don't have a Mac.
- Kev585, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Didn't they have something like this using Thinkpads motion detection, the marble maze game?
- ozjmu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@velda
The author has made a backwards version for the Hi-Res PowerBooks
http://pallit.lhi.is/palli/dashlevel/hirespb/levelwidget.wdgt.zip - iTony, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't have an iBook or Powerbook, but I love the useless crap like this. Dugg.
- Braxo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I wonder if a flight simulator could be created where you "steer" with the computer's level input?
- ,,|,_, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Most expensive 12.1" level ever...
- Wolfman~K, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0just made my night with that.
- mke01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Can someone port this to Linux so I can install it on my workstation? I would definitely lug my desktop and CRT out to the garage if I can use it as a level during my woodworking projects.
+Digg!! - dignon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0very cool. diggity diggity
- cdrudy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0used junesix's AMS2HID links above and have been playing neverball on my ibook with the tilt control. To funny. Blew my wife's mind.
- steal_apps01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Aw man so cool,, works great on my Dec. 05 iBook (xmas present) I still had to pay some of it. Funny thought cause my ibook is on my desk next to me and i'm writing this on my windows pc. I think the level might be backwards though
- link470, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0freakin awsome, I so dont have a mac but man that sounds cool.
- Greenline, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0junesix, just say Cool Thanks.
- junesix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Not the first motion sensor app. Amit Singh kicked off all the development last year with his AMS (Apple Motion Sensor) Tools here (http://www.kernelthread.com/software/ams2hid/ams2hid.html). Matt Webb then built a iTunes controller script in Python (http://interconnected.org/home/2005/03/04/apples_powerbook). Not sure what's more ridiculous though - a $2000 level or a $2000 iTunes remote control.
- vSanity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's not working with my powerbook. I know i have a motion sensor because I played with some rollerball game using an app that made the sensor control it.
- freshcope66, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Too bad this has been out for a while, no digg for old news
- ehmjay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0couldn't get the hi-res version to work on my new 12" powerbook, but the other one works.
- junesix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@Greenline: I wasn't trying to be a jerk about it, just pointing out that this wasn't the first app developed to utilize the sensor. I dugg the post and then listed links to other motion sensor apps out there that I've been playing around with the last year.
- Morph_Ball, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That's a clever use of the SMS. I don't think I've ever heard of it being used for this~
- hayden.evans, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0nice digg!
- saisumimen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0No.
- theprez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Doesn't work on my PowerBook running OS 10.4.4. Doesn't anybody update?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Doesnt work on my ibook g4 1.33ghz 10.4.4
- jeffity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Works absolutely fine on my PowerBok running OS 10.4.4.
Now I'm removing it. I'm all leveled out. - bkorte, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very cool. Works on my new powerbook
- embraceware, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0We need a Marble Madness game for the Mac that uses this technology :)
- Nobi-Wan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I'd rather use a $2.00 level from Home Depot than my $2000 laptop.
- theImposs1ble, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0this goes to show you mac people are freaking retarded to think that ANYONE in their right mind would need to use their mac as a replacement for a level.
im going to make an ipod modification so that it can be used as a fishing lure. - Sulleric, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0However pointless, very fun to play with.
