} - Jo9100, on 05/04/2009, -12/+88the Curve is a really, really good phone. I've had two Samsungs and these were really pieces of crap compared to my Blackberry Curve.
- inhalent, on 05/04/2009, -14/+85Android for pioneers
- ericjbolt, on 05/04/2009, -21/+79If Apple expands to more than one carrier, they will easily beat Blackberry (RIM). Right now, they are limited to a particular set of subscribers. All eyes are on June/July...
- UtahApocalyse, on 05/04/2009, -6/+64#1 reason = ATT
- hantata, on 05/04/2009, -125/+181Blackberry for business.... iPhone for kids...
- haterofps3, on 05/04/2009, -6/+60Apple should try it see what happens.
- phrenzy, on 05/04/2009, -4/+53Hi. When it's hot, I use a Honeywell fan. People who buy Vornado fans are just stupid ***** sheep buying into the media hype and trying to impress their friends. I ***** hate Vornado owners with a passion, and I don't really know why. I'd also like to say that Vornado fans are overpriced and for gays. Don't even get me started on Swingline staplers.
- kipmarlowe, on 05/04/2009, -7/+47Did you read the article? Blackberry ran an extended 2 for 1 sale among multiple carriers (compared to no sale among one carrier) for the express purpose of winning mind share by manipulating the market share during this crucial juncture. Seems to have worked . . .
- dmm219, on 05/04/2009, -9/+48people...they are just F*cking phones. life is too short...
- haterofps3, on 05/04/2009, -8/+37I like my Curve 8320 and I would buy blackberry again, the iphone just isn't for me I hope that doesn't make me a fanboy.
- geodebug, on 05/05/2009, -0/+27I like to call it D-. It is a loose subset of BS.
- Shaggy3, on 05/04/2009, -7/+32You can't win the race when your on one carrier.
I would buy an iPhone, but I am buying a Curve this week. - 0260, on 05/04/2009, -5/+26Windows Mobile for nostalgic dorks like me
- FredFredrickson, on 05/04/2009, -6/+26And you must be a loser for defending a phone in an argument online.
- cesclaveria, on 05/04/2009, -13/+32I see you work at apple then
- btdub, on 05/04/2009, -3/+21If the iPhone "changed your life", I feel extremely sorry for you.
- alexdemers, on 05/04/2009, -4/+22Everyone tried the iPhone. iPhone is not the best thing ever, Apple fanboy.
- loudog, on 05/04/2009, -3/+21Why do I find this so damn funny?
Oooooooooooooohhhhhhhh!!!!!! Riiiiiiiight!!!! I'm a geek!!!! - zangief, on 05/04/2009, -5/+22so what kind of phone do you have?
- zangief, on 05/04/2009, -0/+17How is it end of discussion when I am continuing the discussion right now!
- EdGasket, on 05/04/2009, -0/+15I thought it was only considered a dupe if it was linking to the same article?
- azureskies88, on 05/04/2009, -2/+17If you would just RTFA...
- Kiggold, on 05/04/2009, -22/+37Blackberry FTW !!!
- robbob, on 05/04/2009, -2/+16Thanks, comments like these don't come up as much as they used to.

A few years ago diggers would have added/corrected your code - adml_shake, on 05/04/2009, -0/+14No, just level headed.
- Schmich, on 05/04/2009, -0/+14Be happy that there's competition.
- kidjay, on 05/04/2009, -13/+27buggy as hell...bad interfaces...less than desirable sync features...***** browsers...you give up certain things to have a phone that's well made, has a well thought out interface and "just works". its not perfect, but its the closest thing that people who have any legitimate and fact-based opinion have used.
give me a better device and i'll use it.
also, those things are in the iphone as of june, so...whatever. - Braxo, on 05/04/2009, -4/+17I've had the 8700 to the 8100 and the 8300. Switched to the iPhone, used it for about 4 months, then switched back to my 8300.
What's even weirder is that I've owned only Mac laptops since the 12" powerbook. - MorpheousMarty, on 05/05/2009, -3/+15lol, "iPhone is for people easily swayed by Hype." As if there isn't anything particularly good about the iPhone. My personal killer feature of the iPhone is the screen. Say what you want about Nokia and whatever, when I want to watch a mp4 and listen to alternate tracks (commentary) and have chapter information, I can't imagine any phone really comparing. Now there may be some device out there with a bigger, higher resolution screen with those features, I'm all ears, but not all devices need to suit everyone. I have heard "the iPhone is the best phone I've ever had" many more times than the comments you listed above.
Besides, to each his own. The iPhone might be worth it to someone just for the ipod/phone combination. For the next guy it might just be the browser. For another it might just be a specific app. Don't bash something just because it is popular. There are a million reasons to love and hate the iPhone.
It is not like Windows Mobile, which has no redeeming value. Any OS is better than Windows Mobile. Legitimately compare Windows Mobile with iPhone, taking out the keyboard factor (keyboard is not a deal killer and any real keyboard is better than a software one). I hope Blackberry, Apple and Google battle to the edge of death, but iPhone is not hype, it just has the most hype. Take it away and you still have a device that is the best for millions of people. - Ubermann, on 05/04/2009, -20/+32Our company is all iPhone. Just sayin.
- azureskies88, on 05/04/2009, -4/+16They will easily beat the Blackberry 83xx, yes - but they're still a long way from "easily beating RIM." Also, consider that the iPhone brings users to AT&T, so expanding to Sprint, for instance, won't double sales.
- aliguana, on 05/04/2009, -4/+15well, if iPhone was free on contract, instead of £300 +contract, I'm sure market-share would skyrocket. If Apple want to penetrate the market any more than they have done, they're going to have to go there ("coolness" won't sustain them in the long run, it'll only last until the next "cool" Blackberry, Nokia, LG, Sony...) I'm sure I'll be able to get a Nokia N97 free on contract by next year, upgrading from my previous phone. If you want to upgrade your iPhone, you pay. again.
- haterofps3, on 05/04/2009, -0/+11Nope
Don't think you have the power to end this disccusion. - christinme, on 05/05/2009, -1/+11yeah iphone does MS exchange...fail.
- Quick2822, on 05/04/2009, -10/+20As someone who considered himself pretty anti-Apple for a number of years, when I went from my Sprint Curve to an iPhone, I couldn't believe the difference.
Until RIM decides to not make their OS a ugly, poorly designed, non-user friendly, I won't even go near a Blackberry again. - FredFredrickson, on 05/04/2009, -10/+20I like how all these people rush in and declare foul on the stats just because Blackberry had a sale going, because iPhone is only on one carrier, blah, blah, blah.
We all know this submission would have been a big Apple love fest if they had actually sold more than the Blackberry Curve, so stop acting outraged just because your phone's sales aren't where you thought they were. You know the iPhone isn't doing all that bad anyyway, so who cares...? - Swarms, on 05/04/2009, -0/+10I like the Curve and the iPhone, burn me at the stake. And blackberry has 3 of the top 5, not just the Curve. Multiple carriers plus better deals, what do you expect?
- Antialias, on 05/04/2009, -2/+12No, it's merely the people that are insecure that make it such a big issue. People want to believe that they made the "right" choice and belong to some elite group when really a phone is no different than making a big deal because you use a certain brand of fork to eat with. It is just a tool and they all have good and bad aspects.
- LordofChaosIori, on 05/05/2009, -0/+9Rotary bitches.
- Grazzit, on 05/04/2009, -1/+10actually, free phones given by the provider is for everyone else. Most people use their phone as a .... phone and don't want to spend over a grand a year on their cell phone.
- CrimsonFate, on 05/04/2009, -2/+11Agreed.
- tech42er, on 05/05/2009, -2/+11Manipulating market share is a little strong. It's true the blackberry is sold more like any other phone, but I wouldn't call that manipulating market share. The fact that the iPhone is tied to one carrier that can't offer any discounts on it, despite the fact it's nearing obsolescence (by phone standards), is definitely hurting it, though. So I guess you're right: the fact it's still selling so well is impressive.
- diggduggDOOM, on 05/04/2009, -1/+9Carrier pigeons for advanced luddites.
(soon to introduce Smoke Signals - it's like Twitter for people who hate technology) - Antialias, on 05/04/2009, -8/+16iPhone has copy/paste and MMS now. I can't say for sure on the "power" of the devices but the interface and 3d graphics of the iPhone seem to be as powerful if not more so than any other phone I've seen or used.
I don't own an iPhone though. - BlueCadenza, on 05/04/2009, -0/+8Noob. Even Vornado is better than that Honeywell crap. Air King makes the only true fan worth being a fanboy over.
(in all seriousness phrenzy's comment should be the one that makes the insane and stupid fanboys throw their arms up and ask each other "what are we all doing this for?") - inactive, on 05/04/2009, -3/+11Most sane people (which clearly rules out most of Digg) realize that it's your provider, not your phone, that's the important thing. Verizon is simply a better provider than AT&T. If the iPhone were available on Verizon, it'd easily be out-selling the Curve. I have a Curve, but would switch in a heartbeat if the iPhone were an option. But there's no way I'm switching providers just to have an iPhone.
- sherm420, on 05/04/2009, -0/+8@svensksvampsvensksvamp
the companies dont give away phones, they subsidize them. whether bogo or not, its still subsidized.
regardless, i looked in my dresser drawer and i have 5 freaking phones right now, all that work. wtf :/ -
