Gaming hardware ALWAYS has been about upgrade ability. Gamers want to build their own machine, and change components every couple of months when better products are available.
This is the complete opposite of Apple's philosophy!
The reason why Apple's system is much more stable is mostly because they DON'T want to support every single sound and video card available on the planet. No matter how friggin awesome it is!
Asking Apple to target gamers as a market is the same as asking Porsche to target truckers as their market. They are two completely different markets with completely different needs. And Apple is just not willing to abandon their entire (über-successful) philosophy just to cater to gamers. - Ireland, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Real game machines start with "X" or "Play", iMac is for getting stuff done, quickly.
- liuping, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2The graphics chips in the new iMac are plenty powerful for most people and most game (even if you have to run under Bootcamp)
Hard core gammers are never going to make an IMac there platform (graphics are not upgradeable), so there is no reason to cater to them. more people like thin/quite/cool than a little more graphics power.
it would have been nice i the new Mini actually had a real graphics processor ... - wackymacs, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Some good sites for Mac games:

All come without Window's Viruses, Spyware, and Trojans. - davidktx, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Plenty of games if you know where to look. Search for games at the Apple web site or add games after the Apple URL. All come without Window's Viruses, Spyware, and Trojans.
- doctapeppa, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1Why would you want more of a graphics card when there really aren't too many games to play on it?
