- flipmeat, on 10/10/2007, -4/+82Pfft. Apple tells their employees this every year. They are preparing for Macworld SF in January.
- Matrixsta, on 10/10/2007, -4/+69Who doesn't have a ***** end of year sales push
- jcronkhite, on 10/10/2007, -39/+99In other recent news on Digg..apple apple mac apple... iphone apple mac slim... mac apple Steve Jobs... rumor has it apple... mac.. macmac... iphone apple....
FOR ***** SAKE PEOPLE!!!!!!!! - sotopheavy, on 10/10/2007, -11/+58Apple also told it's employees here is an iPhone. Yes, you can have it. We're selling them for $600.
- lockedon, on 10/10/2007, -8/+52iCancel
- Puppetfunk, on 10/10/2007, -1/+40Actually dolphins flap their tails so fast that they create a pocket of air and fly through the water. It looks slow because it is much like when a fan is going fast and looks like it is going slow.
- chyya, on 10/10/2007, -0/+37Pfft, silent but deadly
>_> - indiefan, on 10/10/2007, -7/+41All this means is that Apple plans to sell a lot of ***** during the holidays...
- Lax32, on 10/10/2007, -2/+34This is Apple we are talking about.
To Steve Jobs, a break is momentarily looking away from your computer and a vacation is walking to the vending machine to get a snack. - AriaStar, on 10/10/2007, -2/+28What's a "vacation"?
- h4mx0r, on 10/10/2007, -2/+26dolphins can SWIM!?
- Starch, on 10/10/2007, -5/+29you must be new here.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+17Every Retail job requires that you do not take time off after Thanksgiving till the holidays are over
- badave, on 10/10/2007, -4/+20And then they dropped the price $200. Nothing like losing 200 on something you got for free. Wait a minute...
My logic is effed up, I apologize. - cgomez, on 10/10/2007, -3/+18Yes you can. This is retail...
- trunkster, on 10/10/2007, -5/+19I usually don't complain about Apple news but this is actually pretty lame. What's next, the schedule for Apple's payroll?
- cgomez, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15Yes.
- hourog, on 10/10/2007, -6/+18Most retailers forbid vacations completely between Thanksgiving and New Years.
Not news - no digg - IllBeBack, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13Yes, you may be familiar with "black" and "white". Those are the colors of the almighty Oreo. One of the world's most addictive Sugar Delivery Systems (SDS).
/sarcasm - Rileyper, on 10/10/2007, -3/+14you missed the other things, xbox 360 and ITS A TRAP!!!
- bigfkncee, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11you have a valid point.i dont like to block topics on digg but i think it may be time i reconsider........
- mdavis, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13I used to work for Apple and this happens every year. No need to speculate.
- amishjim, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11mmm i wish oreos tasted like pandas
- k3vinmartian, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10Maybe he is already a mac user, maybe he is just getting burned out by all of the nit picky Apple stories that seem to just be surrounding only a few specific topics, i.e. iphone, outlandish rumors, more iphone, Jobs being an ass, more iphone, Jobs being awesome, etc. Yeah and I love my mac too, but I'm pretty bored with a lot of the news as of late.
It would be nice to see some interesting original Apple news such as Apple hacks, software reviews, helpful articles, etc. - BossKey, on 10/10/2007, -3/+12You are once again failing to acknowledge Ron Paul!!!
- deadbaby, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11Major computer releasing new model by years end? I think this story deserves a BREAKING title. Please resubmit.
- habbofresh, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Ditto. I like my apple *****, but hate the rampant masturbation that happens here. the speculation, the dreaming, the disappointment and crying of failure because it worls as designed and to their disapointment there's no dreams or starlight inside. THEY'RE ELECTRONICS, PEOPLE. stop taking them to bed with you.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9It's something included in Europeans CONSTITUTION and is a right there! In the USA, it's a curiosity. Get back to work you ***** slaves!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9NO. THIS IS STUPID
- cgruber, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Like a submarine but with less water, people, nuclear reactor, more porn, and iTunes.
- tont0r, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Obviously no one here has ever worked at a retail chain.
- johnpaul191, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7our Thanksgiving is the end on November (November 22 this year), and Christmas is December 25th. 1 month is more like 1/12 (8%) of a year on the US calendar.
i'm not sure i know anyone that works with those kind of restrictions? maybe i just never realized it. then again most retail stores here hire extra help for the period between US Thanksgiving and Christmas. - habbofresh, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8iSeeWhatYouDidThere
- mal1964, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7I sure it was more like there will be no vacation requests approved during the holidays so don't ask. And Im sure all the employee already know not to ask, in retail its a given.
- blackjack75, on 10/10/2007, -5/+11Oh, that must be why they taste so good.
- Vermifax, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Thanks, k3v.
That was the elephant in the living room. I mean I'm a Mac fanboy of 22 years but, if I dammit already with 10 million "unlocked iPhone" stories. I could give a ***** about a goddamn unlocked iPhone!
Maybe, I'll just stick with my Pro apps forums... - Jaryd2006, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7That was the first ijoke in a long time that was just so subtle and actually funny that i was like 3 comments down before I literally laughed out loud at it. Kudos. =)
- Firehed, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Sure you can. Just the same way that they can go ahead and do it anyways. If they have unused vacation time and there's nothing in their contract that says the employer can black out certain dates for taking said vacation, they can either make their boss happy or make their family happy.
- JudgeMonkey, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5well, then they should give me stuff. I would sign an agreement that I have to sing a little 5 second diddy announcing the product name every time I take it out.
- macslut, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Name one retailer that doesn't restrict vacation time between Thanksgiving and Christmas?
- oneoverzero, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5I hope you lose.
- mntbikeracer1, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Nothing like free, or almost free, advertising.
- EllimistX, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3been a while, but Forrest Gump?
- ichbinladen, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Also to Steve Jobs, a black turtleneck isn't just something worn by gay Germans in the 1980s.
- mrurc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3This has nothing to do with end of the year rush. Products have to be out by Thanksgiving for end of the year rush.
- MacParrot, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Wasn't that a Julie Andrews song?
- k3vinmartian, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I doubt it will be a sub-notebook. It is more likely a newer version of a Macbook that better fits into Apple computer line up. Basically, it will be Aluminum and thiner. Although I would like to see an official Apple Tablet, but thats not going to happen.
- johnpaul191, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2they say *some* employees. could that be the ones working in the retail stores and the mail order fulfillment? if things are crazy for MWSF, then i would think they also can't take vacation in early January. there have been stories about the last minute tweaks to products before keynotes.
