- sillygato, on 10/08/2008, -10/+31I couldn't be happier with my iphone! Absolutely love it
- mk3k, on 10/08/2008, -3/+20Gonna have to work overtime at the dell phone support mines.
- Yarnage, on 10/08/2008, -4/+20So they "guessed" that Apple sold that many phones... therefore they sold that many phones? Inaccurate.
- sweeneyowns, on 10/08/2008, -9/+25...10 million and i still don't own one.
- ironhide, on 10/08/2008, -0/+15going by your post, that's 10,000,001
- ivankraszl, on 10/08/2008, -4/+17There are many flaws to an iPhone, but it's still better than the very best Nokia. And this is true for both business and entertainment use.
- MrBrother, on 10/08/2008, -3/+14Your envy is palpable.
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -1/+11Get off our lawn then.
- glenSM, on 10/08/2008, -0/+8LOL
- oldhick, on 10/08/2008, -0/+6Which one? Prove your claim with the name and a product page.
- h0tpot, on 10/08/2008, -0/+6Dugg down for bad English. Especially when Digg has a spell check.
- MazeBot, on 10/08/2008, -0/+6just wat i thought wen saw this. also wont next 2months be of the biggest sales?
- griffeycom, on 10/08/2008, -2/+82008 is over?
- oldhick, on 10/08/2008, -2/+7Stories about the success of the iPhone give us insight into how to successfully penetrate saturated markets, ideas on how to market to specific segments, etc... Busting into the cell phone market which is unbelievably saturated is no easy task. Its interesting to follow the story of the iphone simply from a business perspective. I have much to learn as I would imagine many others do as well.
- oldhick, on 10/08/2008, -0/+5People asking why stories make the front page makes coming to digg annoying. Go away.
- mrsteveman1, on 10/08/2008, -6/+11Obviously, copy/paste is a dealbreaker, because thats all i would use one for. Yep. Copying and pasting things, all day long.
- athinnes, on 10/01/2009, -0/+5An article that you have the choice to look at or not is why you don't come to digg?
- pe5t1lence, on 10/08/2008, -0/+4guess it is time for as new year celebration!
- Me1000, on 10/08/2008, -0/+4Lets see there was a $500, $600, $400,$300, and $200 iPhone...
So it is kind of hard to say the average iPhone costs $300. - RumpleForeskin3, on 10/08/2008, -0/+4I hope by earned he meant grossed...
- Kromel, on 10/08/2008, -0/+4had to dig you up for that remark.
- nullcodes, on 10/08/2008, -2/+6I disagree. Actually i think Apple will end up announcing record sales growth. People may not be buying homes but they're buying macs.
- oldhick, on 10/08/2008, -1/+5Are we ***** because we have the phone you want? - commenting from my iPhone
- diggmaddy, on 10/08/2008, -0/+4Your argument could make sense if you were talking about the first generation iPhone. With the business support in iPhone 3G, tell me specifically how does any blackberry out there beat the iPhone?
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -2/+6Buried as inaccurate. I'm guessing at least *one* person will get an iPhone in the next 2 months.
- oldhick, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3@WhoDoneIt, your point is well made and I'm not sure that I was ever pointing out the consumers motivation...
My point was directed at Apple, as a business. It is impressive for a company who was NOT in the cell phone business to be able to enter the cell phone business so successfully and we can learn from watching them. Obviously their success is based largely on the consumer's motivation which you highlighted. Many consumers wanted an elegant, simple to use, multi-function device. Apple tapped that market quite brilliantly. So excellent point and I certainly can't argue with that! - athinnes, on 10/01/2009, -5/+8Oh no you don't, you just like it because its the "cool" thing to do. Don't fool yourself. All those features you love are just in your imagination. It's just the shine.
/s - MacParrot, on 10/08/2008, -1/+4Probably should have asked this earlier. Does everyone remember when Jobs claimed that Apple would sell 10,000,000 iPhones by (or in) 2008? The digg stories were filled with people claiming that there was no way in hell that Apple would ever sell that many phones and they were also filled with various insults directed at other digger's manhood, mothers, ect, ect.
Whether or not Apple has sold 10,000,000 iPhones by now is immaterial. I doubt anyone will claim that the target won't be met. So, how many of those diggers that said it wouldn't happen are willing to admit they were wrong? Anyone? Hello...is this thing on? - MacParrot, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3WHAT? You mean when you say something stupid like what djdedeo0 did you should back it up with a product link???
I've been doing digg all wrong! - ross., on 10/08/2008, -0/+3That price is fairly typical across the globe, still cheaper than an N95 at launch!
- athinnes, on 10/01/2009, -0/+3I actually paid more for less with verizon. So yeah i am happy.
- Spuy767, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3If you read a lot of Obama threads, and you're a whore for diggs, copy paste is crucial.
- gamepr0, on 10/08/2008, -0/+2happy new year then.
- MacParrot, on 10/08/2008, -0/+2NO! That just won't be allowed! 10,000,000 was the statement and that's where it will stand. No iPhone for you!
- WhoDoneIt, on 10/08/2008, -1/+3Well I'm going to digg you up because I mostly agree with you, but don't think for one second people go to buy an iphone because it's a "cell phone".. You are wrong there and you really can't lump it into that category.
- Electricpigdigg, on 10/08/2008, -0/+2Credit crunch, what credit crunch!
- oldhick, on 10/08/2008, -1/+3That makes sense... When times get tough, buy the most expensive computer out there (not counting game machines of course). They're great, but you're gonna pay.
- FlyingPhotog, on 10/08/2008, -3/+5Pretty much everyone's stick is diving. I suspect Apple's is diving because people have less "disposable income" these days, so new phones and computers fall to the bottom of the necessity list.
- GergMeister, on 10/08/2008, -0/+2I second that, I pay less with AT&T, and I'm accruing roll over minutes that I didn't get with verizon.
- Krissam, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1and since they've been $600 in denmark since release.
- Billions, on 10/08/2008, -1/+2I could be a little happier (cut-and-paste to silence the haters, tethering, official skype client), but I do love my iPhone.
- kreatre2007, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1Oh yes... copy and paste is sooooo damned important. Well, I've managed to get by fine without it. So, I guess you've picked your pet feature and you're pissed that Apple hasn't offered it huh? Deal with it. The rest of us will enjoy our iPhones while you wait for copy and paste. What a cry baby!
Oh.... and by the way... the iPhone STILL doesn't do copy and paste unless there's an iPhone app that I haven't heard about. What the hell would you copy and paste anyway? - peterinjapan, on 10/09/2008, -1/+2Um, I saved money by switching to the iPhone here in Japan. 4000 yen a month tethering plan for my old phone? Ha! Now it's ¥0 a month. And since I use it 2-3 hours a day and have fixed a downed website from a remote location at least once, it's put me in the black. So there.
- inactive, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1Sorry about the Grammers, I'll get you guys a link soon enough.
- web2pointYo, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1Here is your Amen to that.
AMEN! - toxicityj, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1People complaining make coming to digg annoying. We've both just made this place a little more annoying.
- rkzda, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1Because budgets are tighter than ever and investors do not think apple will be able to sustain all their sales levels be it with the iphone, touch, ipod, or their laptops. It is not undervalued btw, $200 per share of apple stock in overvalued in my opinion. But see it as you wish.
- moduc, on 10/08/2008, -1/+2Agree. It's just a phone. I mean who would care about things like a PC, an operating system, etc..
I would care more if it's a car, a house, or an airplane. That would be cool. Even better, a star, or the Sun at least. That's when I would give a rat's head.
It's just a phone people. Stop talking about a phone. I mean it's eh .. little. Yes, right, little, and also phone. Phone, that does even sound awesome. Let it go. 10 million and bragging? How about a zillion, yeah, that would be nice. I would bet your wife that her sister wouldn't care whether you have an iPhone or not.

What is Digg?
