- cmilki, on 10/12/2007, -8/+67Ya because EVERYONE driving on the road can afford an iPhone
/sarcasm - maymats, on 10/12/2007, -6/+39@oakj423
Do you regularly hang out at cingular on other days? - adamfalkofske, on 10/12/2007, -13/+40Better look out while driving that day.. everyone will have their fingers on the damn thing, trying to figure out how to call every-*****-body they know on their new iPhone.
- IchiroBoston, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25June 11th hu? 1st day of WWDC.... Interesting...
- Quix, on 10/12/2007, -3/+25June 11 eh? That means 72 days until flag564's head explodes in volcanic rage.
And 72 days for me to scrape up $600. Goodbye, horrid little Sony Ericsson T610. I've hated you since day one. - samnetwork, on 10/12/2007, -7/+26Dream on baby.
- phpfreak, on 10/12/2007, -13/+30hopefully leopard will be in our hands way before june 11th...
- mweels, on 10/12/2007, -5/+21
Oh, so now release dates are based on what a Cingular sales rep says - Come on guys. - superkendall, on 10/12/2007, -14/+28Pretty funny since the real Apple fans will all be at Apple stores, not Cingular shops. You ant-Apple people never were too bright.
- digiguy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16I'll believe it when I see it on Apple's website.
- superkendall, on 10/12/2007, -8/+21Why is that being dugg down? It seems pretty obvious to me that June 11th is Apple Day for the year. Along with the new iLife and new hardware... and new pro apps that also take advantage of Leopard, and HD video being sold on the iTunes Store.
That will, indeed, be a crazy day at the stores. And for many people's wallets. - Ireland, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14@ Flag, go piss up a lamp post you waste of space. We all know you're a Microsoft fanboy and we couldn't give a *****, just please stop ruining our digg expirence by popping up eveytime there's an Apple story, cause you're coming acorss like a paranoid scientologist. If Kevin Rose decided to put the Microsoft section up because of them I'm glad, please go there now.
- TheKricket, on 10/12/2007, -6/+18a manager at cingular actually gave the date? its GOTTA be true!
/sarcasm - sadly, this is necessary... - superkendall, on 10/12/2007, -9/+20Yeah, who is so insane as to believe a someone dealing in sales when you're asking when a phone can be sold to you? Madness.
- DelMonte, on 10/12/2007, -6/+17Oh flag, yet again you forgot that the cheapest iPhone is $500? Do you have memory problems or you try to maximize the impact of your FUD according to MS guidelines?
Rules for iPhone FUD:
1. Never mention the fact that the iPhone starts at $500, always talk about the high-end $600 model like it's the cheapest one. - IC3M4N5, on 10/12/2007, -8/+19iPhone looks great, but it's still young. I'll wait after a couple of updates and hopefully by then it will be added to more carriers....probably not though.
- superkendall, on 10/12/2007, -10/+20They'll all be there right after to hook up the WiFi, and to get a cup of joe after having got in line at 3am to get the phone. You'll need something more a like a cave with no WiFi and no Edge - try Wyoming.
- RyanNumberOne, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12PS "but what exactly does it revolutionize?"...multi touch, random access voice mail, rich text, true web browsing, 3.5 in camera screen. Hell, I'd buy it just for true web browsing because I've been looking for a phone that can do JUST that. Palm, Motorola, HTC, all their web browsers are HORRIBLE!
- cmilki, on 10/12/2007, -11/+20There are ant-Apple people ?
- punch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10If the first comment isn't funny it almost always gets dug down. Who knows why.
- dasluvaluva, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9...fixed through software updates.
- SLP1111, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9No such thing as Canada
- mweels, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12
Your right - sales people always tell the truth, I am not sure what I was thinking. - timusca, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9@flag
Nobody said the HiFi Boombox was a good idea... as a matter of fact, most people thought it was a horrible idea from the start. You just assume that all Apple fans think everything that comes from Apple is good. While it is true that most things from Apple are excellent (I don't expect you to agree with this), certain products were just awful. Also, we're talking about the iPhone here... don't bring your anti-AppleTV ***** to the table.
Cripes, I don't even know why I bother... more of your ***** will be smeared all over this thread in seconds. - darthsuo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8First, learn to use reply.
Second, the iPhone is currently (currently!) at too high a price point for a large chunk of consumers. So, it probably won't be the fastest-selling phone ever, simply because $500 is too much for a lot of people to lay down. Granted it'll probably be a success, but it won't shatter any records. Not to mention the fact that the whole multitouch-flashbased-widescreen-internet phone market will probably be saturated VERY soon, and judging by the concepts out there (hello, Onyx), Apple will have some catching up to do. Starting with 3G. - buddhistMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7What a fortunate coincidence. I happen to be buying an iPhone on June 11.
- hackmyballs, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4nop, then you would know most IPs come from redmond
- escalus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Have fun when men in suits come knocking on your door. You do realize making threats on the internet is taken seriously in this "post 9/11" world, don't you?
- dasluvaluva, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Unlike other phones, shouldn't they be able to update the device via software updates, similar to the existing iPods? I wouldn't worry about bugs or anything like that, as any hardware updates will be higher resolution, more memory, or something along those lines.
- autoatsakiklis, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6almalax19, his phone can run all third party apps (not special apple approved). And that's the main reason I wouldn't buy an iPhone.
- j_bellone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2My Treo 700w is chugging along fine and it even has RAM issues. Never any crashes.
- mblind, on 10/12/2007, -6/+8Dear Q owners.. We mac users do that on our Blackberries (and Nokia's) now. and next our iPhone.. The Q.... HA.. No thanks. I like phone that don't lock up and crash.
- joshuakuhn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2How about getting some grammar "skillsthatkillz"?
- kelemor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4well i don't care either way...my wife is buying me one for my birthday....if it sucks...I'm out nothing....if it does succeed then i'll have a chunk of cheddar to buy some add-ons. Non-apple fan-boy just a recent convert.
- j_bellone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2You'd be wrong. Even if the numbers that Apple throws out says that they'd be lying. The phone is a locked carrier $500 (minimum) with a two year lock-in. Use some logic. I bet you that the LG Chocolate has sold more than this thing will sell in a year simply because of the price difference.
Not to mention a Internet "tech" phone that does not have 3G. What was Apple thinking? At least they included Wifi. - awrhodes84, on 10/12/2007, -9/+10No kidding... sure the phone looks cool, but what exactly does it revolutionize? I'm not an Apple detractor but I certainly don't understand all the hype. I seem to find that touchpad devices are faily annoying to use and prefer actual buttons, but perhaps Apple has done an exceptional job in this area. We shall see, but I'm certainly not counting down the days when products that do the same thing are already out there...
- oojamaflip2006, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I'd like to bet that the first comment receives the most digg-ups and digg-downs of all comments. Will Digg be releasing their dataset for anaylsis?
- locojones, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3"the 8525 crashes like a bitch, we get given them at work and I'm on my third.. Poor firmware or something like that, probably rushed to market.."
I've had mine since it came out last year, and i haven't had to reset it once. Crashes on Windows Mobile are the result of user error and ***** programs loaded onto the device. - Pulp, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Just like that the Apple TV that was shipped at the end of February, right?
- Azio, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3The iPhone is to a telephone conversation what a Office suite is to writing a form letter.
- Nevrast, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2@superkendall
Madness?
THIS IS DIGG! - stockjones, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1whoopy frickin doo. Sheep.
- kawaiiterebi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I've been using Apple products for years (my dad is a Mac addict pretty much), but I think I'll pass on the iPhone. Too pricy.
Sure looks cool though. - universal12, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1That is a very good date to come out. The day before my birthday, maybe I will ahve to get it.
- superkendall, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Sure, no reason that sales people would tell the truth about WHEN you could buy something, vs. WHY you should buy something.
You've been mistrusting salespeople for the wrong information. - mhmdkhamis, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0http://game.paramegsoft.com/

great very cool - lolo2007, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I say June 12th, it's a Tuesday. I may make a trip down to the Apple Store in Omaha to play with one later this summer, but I have no Cingular coverage so I can't get one anyway. If the rumors are true about Cingular exclusivity only being 2 years, then that's nice timing for when my current contract goes up, so I can switch to whoever around these parts gets the iPhone in, because I'm not holding my breath for Alletel, but who knows http://www.gwafi.com/news.html http://www.gwafi.com/story.html
- mdr3m, on 02/21/2008, -0/+0great very cool
