Buried for being an 11 item list on TWELVE Pages?!?!?! FFS..... Get with the times PCWorld it's 2009. - replaysMike, on 05/21/2009, -3/+17Clearly the first apple computer contained a box of apples.
- coloneltcb, on 05/21/2009, -1/+13One page:
http://www.pcworld.com/printable/article/id,165320 ... - justpetehere, on 05/21/2009, -1/+11Where's the G4 Cube?
- BlueStarr, on 05/21/2009, -2/+12That's what I was thinking when looking at the list. The Mac Mini is nice(I have one) but its no cube!
- Grizzleyt, on 05/21/2009, -5/+14How many times have I seen a timeline of Apple products?
- FredFredrickson, on 05/21/2009, -0/+7That doesn't even compare!
- FredFredrickson, on 05/21/2009, -0/+6Over 9,000?
- cerealjynx, on 05/21/2009, -4/+10Too bad the Macbook Air has been rendered obsolete. For cheaper you get an aluminum macbook that's only a pound and a half heavier, has better processor, replaceable battery, and optical drive.
- Stoyanov, on 05/21/2009, -0/+5I am developer on the Windows platform but definitely not a PC fanboy.
No, I don't like Apple's pricing but I do own an iPhone.
I believe that either technology is worth what it is, so if your job, hobby or simply computer use requires it and you can afford it, why not go for it? I hate it when people get over the top over OS or metal piece preference. - bhavinp, on 05/21/2009, -4/+9really? r u gonna also buy the macbook wheel?
- Stoyanov, on 05/21/2009, -0/+5= 12 times the ad impressions.
- stix213, on 05/21/2009, -0/+4You forgot the 12'th title page, so 12 pages for 11 items
- inactive, on 05/22/2009, -0/+4And no iMac G4?
- BlueStarr, on 05/21/2009, -2/+6they were very experimental in those days and actually had it filled with half apples and half oranges.
- belumaves, on 05/21/2009, -7/+11wow.... I'm impressed, an apple specific article that avoids the reality distortion field gushing. cool.
- Beatmiser, on 05/21/2009, -0/+4My thoughts exactly, I've often considered buying one used from Ebay just to display because I absolutely love the way the thing looks.
/magfag who doesn't care what he's called by others. - Egroh08, on 05/21/2009, -0/+3idk r u lol?
- dhmlco, on 05/22/2009, -0/+3I remember seeing the Lisa at the West Coast Computer Faire in 1983. After years of working with 40 and 80 column dumb terminal-type screens, I was awestruck.
And I knew then and there that I was looking at the future of computing. - Antialias, on 05/21/2009, -0/+2I know you're joking but for the fun of it I went to see what I could get for $10k, 8x 2.93ghz cores, 16 gigs of ram, 4x 1TB hard drives, 2x 24 inch cinema displays & 4x Nvidia GT 120 in a Mac Pro. Wish I had $10k to spend on a computer! A bit overkill for anything I could throw at it though.
- KJSatz, on 05/22/2009, -0/+2Link?
- GiggleStick, on 05/22/2009, -0/+2Have you seen the timeline of timelines of Apple products?
- ToxicTexan, on 05/21/2009, -0/+2It was a "A look back at 11 innovative product designs"...not all designs.
- oMeSSiaHo, on 05/21/2009, -4/+6You can get a 12" HP that weighs the same and comes with an optical drive and a replaceable battery for around $600. The air is cool but way too expensive.
- brstilson, on 05/22/2009, -0/+2No Apple IIGS, the only Apple to ever have a hardware synthesizer built in?
- falafelkiosken, on 05/22/2009, -0/+2Also I don't think I know many other computers exhibited at art museums
- inactive, on 05/22/2009, -0/+1I've got one still kicking as my jukebox and guest internet station. I still would rather use that than this 'top of the line' Dell piece of ***** I'm typing on now.
- Elranzer, on 05/22/2009, -0/+1But the 11 *MOST INTRIGUING* designs? Yeah right.
More like, 11 random Apple computers. - 4rp4n3t, on 05/22/2009, -0/+1Depends. I develop on a PC, but need to test on a Mac too. The mini is powerful enough for the job, cheap, and well, *mini*.
- Canuck, on 05/21/2009, -0/+1http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d54UU-fPIsY
- luke255, on 05/21/2009, -8/+9What?! No *insert favourite mac model*?!?!?
- Stoyanov, on 05/21/2009, -1/+2Apollo 11's onboard computer running at 2 MHz... not so intriguing.
- IndigoMoss, on 05/21/2009, -7/+7Even though I really dislike Macintosh computers and Apple in general (here comes the buries), I still thought the article was good. I liked it better than a lot of the Apple timelines that show up on Digg, because it doesn't list 100+ models that only the most religious Mac users would care about. It also didn't sound like it was giving Apple a blowjob with it's descriptions of each computer.
- rblancarte, on 05/21/2009, -4/+4Best computer design - 11 entries on 11 different web pages. Oh wait, no that was PC World not Apple.
- FredFredrickson, on 05/21/2009, -4/+4I wouldn't waste my money on a mini.
- inactive, on 05/22/2009, -2/+2First pic was the best looking Apple. All downhill from there.
- inactive, on 05/26/2009, -0/+0I hate designs.
- explodingzebras, on 05/25/2009, -0/+0http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGGOn-H7s3Q
The Mactini - udee79, on 05/23/2009, -0/+0I totally did, I thought it would be a retrospective of 1960's era computers used in the Apollo program.
- Scott2, on 05/22/2009, -1/+1No swivel neck iMac? (No) dig, squat and . . .
- retrofitme, on 05/23/2009, -0/+0B & W G3 and G4 cube need to be on that list.
- gwhenning, on 05/22/2009, -0/+0Yeah, but get the one with the bigger drive and more memory and you're up to $799. Do yourself a favor, spend the extra $200 and get the MacBook. Same RAM, smaller HD and it's portable. OR stick with the $799 price point and pick up a refurb MacBook from Mac of all trades.
I bought a mini last year (Had to splurge for the SuperDrive which was at the same $799 price point.) and I couldn't wait for my tax returns this year so I could pick up a MacBook Pro. It's better since I maxed out the RAM, but would it have killed them to make it large enough to fit a standard hard drive?
Oh, I have 3 of these currently, plus a couple not on the list. No longer have the PowerMac 9500, Cube or IIgs. - burntcookie90, on 05/21/2009, -11/+10why split it to 12 pages. wasting my time.
must have been made on a mac. - flibblesan, on 05/22/2009, -2/+1Wow, I got a boner looking at this.
- toppur, on 05/21/2009, -3/+1Anyone else read "Apollo 11's most intriguing computer designs"?
- BlueStarr, on 05/21/2009, -4/+29,000,000,000,000,000,001 ??
- stix213, on 05/21/2009, -7/+4Buried for no Apple IIGS - my favorite computer of all time
