1) Yes it is from my blog, but.... Most articles on Digg are from blogs-they just aren't usually from personal blogs with no commerical interests.
2) Yes it is from my blog, but... isn't this the point of blogs-to allow average citizens to harness the power of big media to inform and instigate change? This is especially true in this case where the major media outlets and blogs have not picked up on this story. I felt like Apple's non-action on this needed to be exposed to some degree.

digg ftw. - JennTX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I updated the software and now it freezes and basically acts like it's on drugs. Windows doesn't recognize it and the Apple hard drive itself makes a very loud noise and clicks like its trying to work. I haven't been able to use it for a month now and now Windows doesn't even recognize it! I tried "the 5 r's" on the "support" website. I even called the help desk and talked to someone who's accent was so thick it took 30 minutes to get my e-mail address correct, just tell him my problem and then he said that my ipod was manufactured by HP so I should contact them!!I think the update only messes with the 4th gen thought because my brother and all my friends have the newer ones and have not had the same problems.

video playback on my 60gb 5th gen is terrible after the update. freezes and then restarts after a few seconds with no audio. almost all the time. - thehigherlife, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1it bricked my friends ipod. when ever he plugs it into his computer now the comp just freezes. Good thing he went first....

- alafleur, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Update: Apple deleted the thread that I started on their discussion forums that I entitled "Creative uses for your iPod since downloading the latest 1-10-06 updater". I included a list of things you can do with your iPod now that it's totally useless-like use it as a paperweight, a christmas tree ornament, or a portable mirror.
One other user on the forums is claiming that he posted a fix to the updater problem and that Apple deleted his post. - kbandy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've got a 5G 60gig iPod and after the aforementioned iPod Update video freeze frequently. I am not at all impressed with Apple!
- skypekid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Apparently I got the same problem after updating the 2006-01-10 UPod updater. What I did to save my iPod was to install the original iPodSetup from the disk that comes with my iPod, the updater was dated 2004-11-15 and the iTunes that came with my iPod.
My iPod 60G re-live again. Jesus. I have reason to think that there is a serious bug in the new updater. - alafleur, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've come up with a creative solution to the dreaded iPod updater problem.
