- ojk007, on 07/12/2009, -0/+18i can just see them leaving the wifi antenna in, but disabling it in the OS. Only to have them all jailbroken to get wifi.
- robbob, on 07/12/2009, -0/+14China already sells the iFone.
100% authentic, I swear - curtisag, on 07/12/2009, -0/+12Positive sign for our trade deficit. We need to buy less Chinese ***** and they need to buy more of ours.
- gz2nyc, on 07/12/2009, -2/+11I just came back from traveling in China and saw the iPhone is already popular among city-dwellers. Their phones are of course hacked and Apple knows this, so their push into China is more about capturing what's left of the market rather than introducing this amazing device to China's mobile users.
I was amazed to see some of China's mobile technologies. Many phones take dual simcard and have TV capabilities. - keviniskool, on 07/11/2009, -3/+11Great, now apps can be filtered by Apple and the Chinese Firewall!
- FOR3MAN, on 07/12/2009, -1/+8Great, with Chinese censorship now Apple can finally run all those commercials where "there ISN'T an app for that."
- gz2nyc, on 07/12/2009, -1/+7@stealthspc - you are as clueless as you are ignorant
- SPNKrPunk, on 07/12/2009, -1/+71.5 billion Chinese citizens.
- DeadFox1, on 07/12/2009, -2/+8I wouldn't say it was pointless. Expensive? yes. staus symbol? yes. you are good for 2/3. 66%.
- immatellyouwhat, on 07/12/2009, -0/+6that's kind of a package deal.
- MacParrot, on 07/12/2009, -0/+3You left out the sarcasm sign...oh wait...you were serious???
- t0ny, on 07/12/2009, -0/+2Funny thing is my iPod Touch is made in China. I would guess the iPhone is too.
- Malik112099, on 07/12/2009, -1/+3I cant imagine having the job of sorting through the thousands of apps and deterimining which are ok and which aren't for the Chinese population of iPhone users.
- FOR3MAN, on 07/12/2009, -12/+13Far from pointless? Pinnacle of modern communication devices more like it.
- taibo, on 07/12/2009, -0/+1Apple seems to moderate the app store pretty easily, I'm sure China will manage.
- Jrr6415sun, on 07/12/2009, -0/+1I saw someone with an "iphone" in china that was about double the size of the 2g. It was like a giant brick with an apple logo on it. It was either modified to have more storage, or it was just a really bad knock off.
- nickossa, on 07/12/2009, -2/+3ohh wow murrabbit obviously cant afford the very cool and oh my GOD life changing necessary device the "IPHONE". Couldnt function with out it. with my iphone i jump on my E*trade account (they have there own app) and i buy stock in china unicom (CHU or if you trade on the Hong Kong market 0762) . then i get on here and brag about my new investment
- neFariou5, on 07/12/2009, -1/+2Now you can see why apple has been so harsh with their app store moderation.
- curtisag, on 07/12/2009, -0/+1Toyota and Honda cars bought in the U.S. are made here for the most part, but when you buy one the profit is sent home to Japan.
- rheaume, on 07/12/2009, -1/+1awesome
- RhymeThyme, on 07/12/2009, -3/+1Great, with Chinese Democracy now Axl can finally run all those commercials where "there ISN'T an ass so fat."
- inactive, on 07/12/2009, -4/+2If Apple does indeed decide to bow to pressure from China to disable features which allow citizens to record and disseminate evidence of their governments abuses (via camera, microphone, WiFi), then they are blatantly choosing to support terrorism in exchange for profits and should be banned from doing business in the US.
- Murrabbit, on 07/12/2009, -16/+12Oh good now China's hundreds of millions of destitute and impoverished citizens can finally have one of the most pointless and expensive status symbols ever devised.
- Presbyterian, on 07/12/2009, -13/+3Utter nonsense.It's not a pinnacle of anything.
- stealthspc, on 07/11/2009, -17/+5It's China. Who cares.
