- dyreschlock, on 10/11/2007, -7/+15There's an iPhone movie now?! .. what the crap.
- rstarr, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9I...I...I want to disagree...but your logic...it's just...it's so sound.
- lodleader, on 10/11/2007, -5/+12and how fast are those going to load on super crazy fast EDGE?
...... - totorototoro, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9maybe the Apple Website guys are a different group?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5If "right then and there" means "2 and a half days later when the download completes" then that should happen very soon.
- cam2009, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6geez, I'm usually a 'no more iphone stories' kind of guy, too, but calm down people. I think it's good that Apple is adding new perks and features. Why are you mad that Apple added a new, unexpected, FREE feature? Maybe it's useless to you, and yes, video support would be preferable, but I'm happy to see they're adding more 1st party features just days after it comes out. They didn't hype it, they didn't make people digg it, they didn't even announce it, they just did it. Calm down and don't complain about free stuff, you should have removed the Apple section for the week or two if you didn't want iPhone stories.
- Hale, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Doesn't Apple spend like half of their iPhone commercial claiming that the iPhone doesn't view a cut-down internet or a mobile version of internet but THE internet? If that was true, why the hell would Apple make a separate page of its web site just for iPhone browsing?
- Sagags, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Edge is not as slow as you guys make it out to be, I get 177 kb/s on edge over my iPhone
- ronmexico, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I don't get upset over Ubuntu articles or Zune articles, deal with it man.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -5/+7How about they get to work on the features they left out of the iPhone to get it released on time before they come up with anything new like this?
- damnyooneek, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3its funny how there's obviously a huge interest in this phone and thats why the articles keep showing up on the front page. People that are leaving bad comments are just haters. They're jealous for one reason or another and have to vent. It's ok your mommies will buy you one some day.
- iheartartoo, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5And you might be able to watch it by the time you get there.
- kodachrome22, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Yes. Clicking on any Quicktime-playable media should load up in full screen on the iPhone.
- aminorking, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2And its not like you aren't going to see every trailer whilst waiting for the damn cinema to show the movie.
- Ramble, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Yea, I think it's a VOIP web phone made by Linksys. Looks pretty old, not sure what all the fuss is about.
- cave, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3It's not cut down at all, it has all the same functions that the regular website has, only it's optimized for iPhone's different input method and screen aspect ratio. Why is this suddenly a bad thing?
- SenorCardgage74, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Actually a beer milkshake sounds kinda rad.
- gateway, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1EDGE = slow, movie trailers higher bit rates, trailers work great when connected to wifi, but with EDGE well, lets just say you can be in for a slide show or stopping during playback.
- archer1012, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Cool new place to get iPhone movies, games, music and every thing else. Check it out.
http://watch-dogreviews.com/iphonedownloads.html - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2maybe...
- poohat1000, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1http://www.picli.com - very cool, iphone photosharing
- felchdonkey, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3Pretty cool. I noticed this weekend that the regular Apple movie trailers page was launching full-screen trailers when viewed on iPhone, nice to see a dedicated page.
I haven't been able to figure out why some QuickTime movies in web pages play full screen, and others won't play at all. For example, the small QuickTime of DiggNation plays as a fullscreen movie, but the large one just shows a broken image. - SweetMercury, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3I think the idea is that you start streaming them the week before you plan on going to the movie, so it will be all queued up when you are ready to drive to the movie.
- totorototoro, on 10/11/2007, -4/+5Works as advertised-similar to how the YouTube videos work. Can other sites set this up for embedded movies/clips easily?
- neckaros, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1all inline quicktime video are played in a fullscreen player instead. But it as to be Quicktime player and not Flash player
- tdhurst, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Do you have ANY idea about how downloads work? It's going to be a long time before we download movies directly to cell phones.
- Rosco, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1You're forgetting something, Digg is filled H.O.M.O.'s, and you are attacking the thing they cherish the most.
http://www.pvponline.com/article/3248/fri-apr-06 - neckaros, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2If you take a look at the iPhone page it's just the same with only bigger button for next and previous page. If you don't have an iPhone like me (european) you can use iPhoney application to take a look
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Your Apple-loving hobby sucks, and one day you'll realize what a complete ***** loser you are. Have a nice day!
- FredFredrickson, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1"Now you can watch movie trailers on your way to the movie."
Er, don't do that... they'll probably just make you not feel like seeing the movie you're going to see. - judsond, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1This is just seeing quicktime things in safari though, I don't think the page is any differently formatted for iphone.
- jhonizzle, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1i've been doing this since day 1.....but cool
- kefferch, on 10/11/2007, -4/+4its funny you complain about all the iPhone stories but it doesn't stop you from clicking on the link and taking the time to post and complain rather than avoid the topic all together and just brush the bitching off your shoulder! have a nice day! GOOOOOOOO iPhone!
- flashboy131, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2because you can.
- KSUdesigner, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1So how long before they allow people to purchase and download movies directly from the iPhone? Trailers are good and all, but if I'm on a long trip I'd like to at least have the option to purchase the film and watch it right then and there instead of waiting until I get back to a computer.
- SPECOPS, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0You are right, it SHOULD but it doesn't. On my voicemail page, which Quicktime plays wav files just fine on my Mac, on the iPhone, it doesn't.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2Good call, that's entirely possible.
- frostieDude, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0I'm suspecting the download speeds for this via Edge would not be satisfactory to you if this feature were made available today.
If it were WiFi only, there would be annoying corner cases in the design such as "what happens when you begin downloading a movie via WiFi and then walk away from the antennae".
I'm sure they will add this feature eventually, but if I were making the decision I would say that the lack of this feature shouldn't prevent the iPhone from shipping nor should it prevent the movie trailer site from going live. - spideyman, on 10/11/2007, -4/+2Buried because it's about the iPhone.....Enough with the ***** iPhone stories!!!!
- deebeeb, on 10/11/2007, -4/+2What's an iphone?
- dustblaaze, on 10/11/2007, -5/+3SURPRISE SURPRISE, ANOTHER IPHONE STORY!
yet..Im still commenting. teehee! - coolfactor, on 10/11/2007, -3/+0naio, you've been blocked for your annoyance.
- scabbers, on 10/11/2007, -9/+6What a load of *****. If I was apple, I'd not want to mention "video" considering the iphone can't even record any.
- naio, on 10/11/2007, -5/+2Is a piece of crap that, by beginning with an "i" and being manufactured by Apple, has turned into gold. At least in the head of their mindless sheep (== Apple fanboys).
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -9/+5So what is this "iPhone" thing anyway?
- coolfactor, on 10/11/2007, -4/+0Ha ha, classic!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -6/+2Too bad iPhone has an absolutely stupid aspect ratio which makes it inferior to almost every portable video playing device ever released since it has to crop and chop or add black bars to both 4:3 AND 16:9 content.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -8/+3Wow, you can watch the same trailers you're going to watch on the BIG screen when you get there on a tiny iphone screen. That makes you SOOOOOO cool and popular with the ladies. You will definitely find yourself a date at the movies! You'll get off you're car alone and go home with an actual girl! YEAH!!!
