- macbwizard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+63because it's fake
- moisie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+35why has it not got a click wheel? Why has it got buttons like a 3G?
- OwenX, on 10/12/2007, -3/+25Fake, incase you need proof...

Look at the bottom.. the headphones and shadow matches. - gregmo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18cuz they forgot that part when they photochopped it
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20What a joke. Apple haven't used Chicago in their Applications or on their devices for YEARS. Buried for inaccuracy.
- rye425, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16The only way i would buy it is if it holds enough music as a regular ipod and also works like a phone. I cant stand phones these days that say they are mp3 players when they can only hold a few songs or less than 100.
- borninda818, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16http://www.mobilewhack.com/handset/apple_iphone.html
scroll down for a video - supremo, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1799% fake.. but who cares.. I want one!! :-)
- Flyngwalrus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11There is no way they revert to the old buttons. No way. No way.
Then again, I'm not sure I'd mind. - vdxc, on 09/29/2008, -1/+10if that's an iPhone why does it say iPod on the screen.
- aristan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Thanks, Neiltc13. Now i don't feel like a nerd for thinking "WRONG FONT" the moment I saw it. Font/Apple Geeks unite!
- ncraig, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8The guy that submitted this has 5 stories that he has submitted on digg that go to this gruuve.com thing, 4 are just saying it is a cool site. My guess is that he posted this pic on the page and wants to direct more traffic to the Gruuve site...
- McMultiverse, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Holy *****, this is even faker than the fake Leopard screenshots everyone fell for. Guys, stop being so effin' gullible.
1. The shot is too clean for a quick in-person shot.
2. The shot looks NOTHING like Apple's official marketing shots.
3. IT'S A ***** 3G iPOD.
4. Durr.
5. This is older than Jesus. - aristan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6My other problem(s) with it is why would there be a physical QWERTY keyboard but an onscreen numeric keyboard. Seeing as on a phone the numbers are likely to be used MUCH more, it seems like it'd be ther other way. Also... why go back to having fwd & back buttons etc on the face of the device, Esp when they're also shown onscreen....
- Powerdrift, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Haha, why don't people try to make stuff that actually looks real?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Wow, this is awesome. So many people can use photoshop it's amazing.
- vdubski, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8This photoshop is OLD. I saw this one passed around way back when before the iPod Photo came out.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9Thats just retarded. You're promoting a story thats FAKE as FAKE can be because it looks cool?!
No wonder a small number of diehard apple fans make the rest look like crazies too!
You fools would buy poo on a stick so long as it had an apple logo on it. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9if this is the real iPhone that we have all been waiting for i think it would be a definate dissapointment in my opinion :(
- jpatch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Okay, what's wrong with this?
*Chicago font (ick)
*Ripped headphones from OTHER iPod ads
*Two different battery indicators
*3G buttons
*No microphone slot in reflection
*A screen that, when the video is put into "fullscreen," would not fill the screen (except sideways)
*Size that would potentially stick out of one's pocket
*Speaker holes don't quite match
Badly done bad design. You get a Banana out of 68. - rickpable, on 10/12/2007, -3/+73G actually. The 2G didn't have the touch sensitive buttons.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4100% fake.
- FreakyT, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Actually, Chicago was used in iPods up until all the B&W ones were phased out.
And these pictures are clearly fakes. There's no way Apple would release something that looked like a sort-of color, rearranged version of the 3G iPod. - modelNofifteen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It also does not match the rules set that Apple uses with all there products... also, if this is true, why are non of the people in the photos holding it. Sure there are some people with small white things int he pics, but they would flash it more to the camera and its TO small in there hands.
- aristan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4(Oh and it's obviously not an 'Apple' event of any sort. Would apple let you present their stuff on screen with the Windows taskbar up under Powerpoint? lol)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Ok, so obviously fake. That in itself is not a problem, what is ridiculous though, is the fact that so many Apple drones actually dugg this to the front page.
- leviathan3k, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5It's a modified Sharp Zaurus
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000063D6E.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg - defectDS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I usually never cuss, but how the ***** did this get on the front page!? There are hundreds of better concepts than this one!
Wow. Come on guys. - mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The video is awesome (by the way at the beginning of the video it says it's just a UK ad company that has no affiliation with apple and that the product in the video is purely conceptual)
listen to the words of the song in the video though, pretty funny, considering it's showing a fake iPhone: "do you believe, in what you see .. nothing is real, wasting my time"
Anyhow, this is lame and inaccurate, so i reported it. - 500freestyle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I don't like it. Its too cluttered.
- rye425, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I have to agree with you matrix, when they came out with the click wheel the thing felt like it was a mass produced cut back. To me the click wheel just made the ipod feel cheesey buttons that sense touch are alot more impressive to me than ones that click. Well its just an opinion i guess. 3G was a classic almost like the sixties for the mustangs were.
- pacman122, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It may be fake but I would buy one
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3So you often avoid fake apple stuff then? Kind of difficult coz none of them actually exist, so how the hell can you avoid them?
- inkswamp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I've casually followed Apple rumor sites for over 7 years at this point (much to my chagrin) and I'll tell you the one true sign that any "upcoming product image" posted to the Web is legit. You know it's real if Apple's lawyers swoop in within hours and gang hump the site into submission. The fact that these are still online and not being circulated by other means is an indicator that it is fake.
- colinnowra, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3But does it run Linux?
- dcharti, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Come on people. I like Apple and their products as much as the next Mac user, but there seems to be a serious degradation in the quality of Apple-related story submissions and those who seem to be blindly digging them for one reason or another.
Please, think before you click boys and girls. - emichbe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1fake... look at the old generation iPod buttons...
- JuliusErving, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Very poor attempt at a fake. The fact that it has no click wheel has already been mentioned, but cmon.. find a better pic to put on the phone. Also, the iPod logo is pathetic.. no actual iPhone insignia?
- illicium, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5Go typography fetishism!
Er.. wait - willij, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1fake....steve would not go back to the old generation iPods.
- mattyohe, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Yeah... I was going to make the Chicago comment as well.. Ugh.. we are such losers!
- mixpix405, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1holy *****... how many people can say "This is fake! Dont you people KNOW THAT?! GOSH!"...
- Petarded, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Also notice how everybody has Google Visitor name tags.
- brosner, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Wow, I love digg users. Whenever a photo or video of some unreleased product is unleashed onto the Internet, all they can do is tear it apart. Everyone knows its fake. The only trusted source is the manufacturer itself once it is released. Can't we have a bit of an imagination? I think it looks pretty dang slick assuming it looked like this.
- bebop717, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3super fake, why would they backtrack and use multi buttons from a 3g when they have a new click wheel. Man this guy is not even trying.
Buried as lame. - wesbos, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I love how the description says "from an apple employee" but the other pictures in that album show them using Microsoft Powerpoint
- noseeme, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That looks like it could have been doctored.
- 5abi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2buttons are kinda small for the keyboard thing
- heimtommy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3fakkke : )
but nice try though... -
