- MacParrot, on 09/29/2008, -0/+3Good God, why is this even happening? Transferring music without DRM from iTunes to another player is drag and drop simple. They would be better off getting the content copyright holders to stop insisting that Apple, Microsoft, and all the other music stores use DRM. Then it's simply a question of format compatibility. Apple uses AAC, a codec that they license and do not own. Any player capable of playing AAC files can play any non-DRMed song off iTunes.
Syncing non-Apple players to iTunes is a different story and not really touched upon in the article. If THAT was what the problem had been, then maybe this might be an issue. Apple cannot force copyright holders to sell their wares without DRM. - StigNordas, on 09/29/2008, -0/+2That's both a huge compliment and criticism at the same time.
