- SilentSnowball, on 12/03/2008, -30/+308Truth in advertising... what's that? You mean if a guy wears Axe body spray he won't get attacked by every woman he sees?
- mdfrancois, on 12/03/2008, -16/+238Apple makes a phone?
- granolajoe, on 12/03/2008, -8/+213"Of course advertising is misleading. Pfft. Only a dumbass wouldn't realize that"
- narbs, on 12/04/2008, -8/+179FAST FAST iPhone 3G soooooo FAST
2G SLOW 3G FAST
FAST FAST FAST
Disclaimer: may not be fast. - DonJuanAussi, on 12/04/2008, -28/+196Apple admits it sells ***** to fools... well overhyped hardware and software to fools who believe anything Steve says. Whats next? The admission that Steve and Bill kiss on a big pile of Mac users money?
- inactive, on 12/04/2008, -15/+178Apple just called its fanboys fools. lulz
- AngelBunny, on 12/03/2008, -20/+161I never liked apples advertising much. It is always stuck up or fabricated or .... so I don't have any sympathy for apple at all. However, I do like their products.
The ads with how fast the iphone works doesn't bother me much. The newer green ad pisses me off a lot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TubjfUFhecg because apples are not really that green at all. However, if a product is green or not will not factor into me buying or not buy it, but i find this ad a bit misleading. - pyroguy56011, on 12/04/2008, -2/+142That's clearly a hyperbole. Coming out with a phone that utilized new technology that's clearly not understood by the majority of the public, and making claims about its speed that are well within the realm of what the public has come to expect, is not clearly a hyperbole. That would be like a commercial for Dell saying that their new generation of computers is twice as fast as the old. Of course a tech-savvy individual would know just how monumental a true doubling in raw speed and performance would be for an entire computer, but to the general public that probably sounds pretty realistic.
- inactive, on 12/03/2008, -65/+189Mactards believe everything..
- inactive, on 12/04/2008, -21/+132Wooooooooooooooooooah. That is funny. Even APPLE admits that its users are retards..!
- waspbr, on 12/04/2008, -7/+116Correct me if I am wrong but isn't misleading advertising ilegal?
- FelixDrylock, on 12/04/2008, -9/+103I'm afraid he's right, waspbr. According to my calculations, you are in fact not legal.
- violentvinyl, on 12/04/2008, -1/+88Keep that quiet, we're trying to get MORE people on Digg to use deodorant.
- asgardshill, on 12/04/2008, -21/+101There's a lot of spittle-flecked, unreasonable and vicious hatred for Apple on Digg - a LOT of hatred.
I approve. - replaysMike, on 12/03/2008, -5/+85Just because I'm a fool, doesn't mean you don't owe me money.
- inactive, on 12/04/2008, -4/+76this coming from a guy named "MacParrot"
- KnightMareInc, on 12/04/2008, -38/+110People who buy apple products are fools, no news there.
- ModernDayDarwin, on 12/04/2008, -0/+59There's 2 groups: the fanboys, and the fanboy haters. I'm not so sure it's a product of truly hating mac, just hating the zealotry that the fanboys have. I don't hate Linux, I just hate people that blindly believe it's the greatest thing on the planet.
- theGoodness, on 12/04/2008, -0/+53LOL Why would you believe the words that are coming out of my mouth?
Over and over they chant in this ad FAST iphone is FAST, and demonstrate the use.
One of their main selling points to the original Iphone purchasers was that Iphone 3g was so much faster.
Now they want to say just kidding, they should just pay, and stop misleading or at least put disclaimer! - LeviTheSmith, on 12/04/2008, -19/+71You're illegal
- inactive, on 12/04/2008, -11/+60Only a fool? Haha once again Apple customers get treated like ***** morons by Apple top brass.
Now open your wallet, bend over and assume the position. lol - TheUngod, on 12/04/2008, -6/+55Anyone who owns a PC and has seen a "get a mac" ad knows advertising is misleading.
- ww917352, on 12/04/2008, -3/+51Apple's ads are always manipulative. Their "Get a Mac" series is the best example.
- raydeen, on 12/04/2008, -4/+51Yes we really enjoyed it. And yes it's OK to classify entire groupls of people with broad generalizations. All the Apple Mac ads seem to do it so it must be ok.
- alperea, on 12/04/2008, -1/+40.........or hypocritical.
- Drahkar, on 12/04/2008, -3/+39And with this response you have finally graduated from 'Moronic Retorts and Mind-Numbing Commentary' School. Here is your diploma and a sign warning everyone to ignore you because you have nothing useful to add to the conversation.
- TransmitThis, on 12/04/2008, -4/+40Apple argues only a Fool would Believe its iPhone 3G ads?
Apple agrees only a Fool would Buy its Products - sammydeath, on 12/04/2008, -3/+39theres a UK advert where it shows a download from the apps store super quicky done. Yet in small text it claims speeds may vary and some steps have bee removed, always makes me laugh
- inactive, on 12/04/2008, -6/+41People voted for Bush because they liked him.

_____________________________________####___________________ - raynar, on 12/04/2008, -2/+35So if I make cookies that I say are peanut-free, and someone with an allergy eats them and dies, I can get off? Awesome.
anyone want a cookie...theres ,err, NO NUTS in them...except mine. - TheUngod, on 12/04/2008, -5/+36Mac insulting Windows for spending money on advertising in a get a mac ad. I can't think of anything more ironic.
- TMTurtle, on 12/04/2008, -3/+32He's a might biased, I'd say.
- teamr, on 12/04/2008, -0/+28Last I checked, the Axe and Dodge ads were comedy. Is it reasonable to believe that you will magically attract hoards of women if you wear Axe bodyspray? no
Is it reasonable to believe that if you throw a dodge truck off a cliff it will survive without damage? No
Is it reasonable to believe that you will get fast speeds and reliable service with an iphone on 3G network? yes. Because that is exactly what apple claims in a non-comedic, informative advertisement. Apple is misleading millions of people with false advertising. Nobody expect magic deodorant or an indestructible truck, but they expect good service on their iphones. Thats why half the people I know with one has been fairly disappointed with the service - Ryan2845, on 12/04/2008, -0/+28It's still early in California, we have a good hour and a half before this article is buried into oblivion
- TheUngod, on 12/04/2008, -3/+30I was being polite by saying misleading. There are some commercials that are just lies.
- Jordan117, on 12/04/2008, -9/+35APPLE SUX!!!!1
---------------------------------
Sent from my iPhone - AboveandBeyond, on 12/04/2008, -3/+27I just got a confirmation from apple: "you have to be a fool to believe what we say."
- MentalBeaver, on 12/04/2008, -12/+35I think the fanboys have arrived. I've just dugg several comments that criticise Apple and they were immediately counteracted by burials.
- vertigo32, on 12/04/2008, -4/+26Are you serious?
This place is like fanboy-heaven. - MeatMountain, on 12/04/2008, -2/+24So by extension only a fool would buy it...
- phoomp, on 12/04/2008, -1/+22The difference is when the ad is *obviously* misleading. In the case of Axe, it would take a significant lack of common sense to think that wearing Axe will have girls chasing you down the street. In the case of Apple/iPhone, most iPhone customers aren't experienced with mobile Internet speeds, so when Apple shows those commercials, most people do not know that the speeds are being exaggerated.
If Apple had accelerated the speed of the hand-actor, the customer's speed-point-of-reference in this case, Apple could say it's obvious that everything is sped up.
Or, we just assume that *everything* advertised is a lie. - waluum, on 12/04/2008, -3/+22For a long time I avoided Apple because of the fan boys. I was recently given a free iPod Nano and loved it enough that it gave me a new found respect for Apple. Shortly after I bought an iPhone and have to admit that it's the best gadget I've ever owned or used. I am, however, a user of Windows and despite tinkering with OSX I would not move anytime soon, if ever.
There are Apple fan boys, and anti-Apple fan boys. I'm happy to not be a part of either group. - flangepiece, on 12/04/2008, -0/+19unless sprayed directly into the eyes of the observer.
- kronix2, on 12/04/2008, -1/+19Unreasonable? Apple is a cult first and a provider of technology and music second.
At least Windows users such as myself admit Microsoft are just another "evil corporation", whose best interests lie in ***** over the consumer. When was the last time a turtle neck sweater-wearing Mac fan admitted Steve Jobs is just promoting a cult of personality with an elitist "we're enlightened and everybody else is ignorant" mentality?
Apple zealots are the Scientologists of the tech world.
I have two iPods, by the way. - nerdherder, on 12/04/2008, -1/+18Boy were you wrong.
- Nero9171, on 12/04/2008, -1/+17You're doing it wrong.
- Nephersir7, on 12/04/2008, -9/+25Apple doesnt believe in putting tiny text in their ads/brainwashing, they prefer you stay focused on their products and how great they look
- AboveandBeyond, on 12/04/2008, -1/+17slowly slowly...some are begining to realise how much they have been ripped off over all these years...
- anshuman, on 12/04/2008, -6/+21No you didnt Mapple :( // *Waves fists
