- mu0p, on 06/08/2009, -1/+6Apple fanboys will apparently believe anything. Look at the fine print from the apple website:
"(2) Requires new two-year AT&T wireless service contract, sold separately to qualified customers; credit check required; must be 18 or older. For non-qualified customers, including existing AT&T customers who want to upgrade from another phone or replace an iPhone 3G, the price with a new two-year agreement is $499 (8GB), $599 (16GB), or $699 (32GB)."
Enjoy your "$99" iPhone. - jboitnott, on 06/08/2009, -1/+6Maybe someday Verizon will finally get one? (cries in the corner)
- mahdroo, on 06/08/2009, -0/+5Jesus Christ! You remember when these were $600???
- t0ny, on 06/08/2009, -0/+3I also remember when I paid $80 for a 128MB SD card.
- EatingPie, on 06/09/2009, -1/+4From Apple's Site (the footnote "2" on every iPhone):
(2) ...For non-qualified customers, **including existing AT&T customers** who want to upgrade from another phone or replace an iPhone 3G, the price with a new two-year agreement is $499 (8GB), $599 (16GB), or $699 (32GB).
That's WITH a 2 year agreement! Suckage. Stopped my purchase dead.
EDIT: Oops... Repeated comment... I'm not calling anyone names though (unless it's AT&T).
-Pie - blackhole37, on 06/09/2009, -0/+2I can almost afford it
- janinekahn, on 06/08/2009, -1/+3Crap, I knew I should have waited. :(
- commentbot, on 06/09/2009, -0/+2Even at that price, I'm not interested. I prefer spending the money into cheese cakes :)
- ethanator1088, on 06/08/2009, -3/+5And thus Apple took over the world! That is pretty sweet.
- 5cents, on 06/09/2009, -0/+1$99 is for Iphone 3g and not for the new iPhone 3Gs
anyhow I am sure people who were waiting eagerly to grab at best price will grab them this time. - kplo, on 06/09/2009, -0/+1Dangit! Why'd I spent $300 on mine?
- MtheoryX, on 06/09/2009, -1/+2Um, no. It also says:
"...including existing AT&T customers who want to upgrade from another phone..."
Stop acting pretentious. - KSUdesigner, on 06/09/2009, -1/+2I understood it as those who are not qualified, including the non-qualified existing customers. Maybe I'm wrong, their verbage isn't exactly clear. Either way, I don't see what's so pretentious about my comment. I don't think you know what that word means.
- KSUdesigner, on 06/09/2009, -1/+1Those other prices are only for people with extremely ***** credit. You know, the ones that AT&T doesn't want as customers anyway because they never pay their bills. If your credit is that bad and you fork over $500+ for a phone then you have your priorities backward.
- HandleThis, on 06/08/2009, -2/+1SOOOOO glad i waited! Or should i wait longer for them to become a free give away with a 2 year plan in another 5 years? hmmmm. Well for now I'll just stick with my current car phone: http://humorpix.com/images/1658-Old-school-car-pho ...
