- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19That's just your immature way of trying to antagonize me into an argument so you can spout your rhetoric and intimidate people, whilst you try and spin their words into a web of lies and twisted perceptions based on your own diluted and archaic reality.
I, sir, refuse to stoop to your level and I shall further your quest no more. - christophersdad, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13I have your answer. Vista. Maybe it says something that people are actually excited when Apple comes out with something, unlike the dread that Windows users are feeling for the release of Vista. Ooooooooh, see through windows. What will they think of next? How about security?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+18Looking at your submissions, it is clearly obvous you are an antagonist and have nothing better to do than attack people.
Go away. - Lacero, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13I, for one, welcome our new Mac Pro Overlords.
- nosnhojm, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10So I guess we all think you're an idiot, since you expect an answer to your own theoretical question. The real answer, we don't care about your question, your comment, or your opinion. This is news, whether you think it is biased or not.
- Bioshocker, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9I think you make an error by dismissing them as mere fanboys. Apple rumors drive serious traffic - guaranteed Digg front page, etc - which translates into lots of ad clicks. Apple rumors are big business for tech websites.
- kingyubba, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12in soviet russia, Mac Pro Overlords welcome you!
- fitzfan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9I hope Kevin leaks the products on his blog again, or did he already when he talked about the set top Apple box when they were discussing video rentals on Diggnation???

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4@OP of this thread. You're kinda right, but you said it in an *****-ish way so no one takes you seriously.
The rumors leading up to these events are always way better than the actual releases because people actually pay attention to garbage sites like MacRumors and ThinkSecret. Didn't they confirm beyond all doubt that the true video iPod was coming on April 1?
They only time they get anything right is when they state the obvious. - DPowers08, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Since all the Apple rumors are inevitable, its nice to have them all in one place.
- rgov, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2An operating system for Apple hardware *and* a competing operating system! Only Apple has the innovation necessary to, you know, do the impossible.
- rgov, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well, there were Mac clones a while ago. The trouble was that you had to have Apple's ROM in order to boot the OS, and the ROM was Apple's intellectual property. Some company stole it but they couldn't prove it, so Jobs ordered the next ROM version to have a secret "stolen from apple" icon to be quickly evoked for demonstration. Apple also licensed the ROM to a few people, but not for long.
OS X does not include a ROM, but it does include checks for Apple-specific hardware. Hackers disabled these checks recently to allow OS x86 to run on virtually any PC hardware, but this has just provoked Apple to bolster its security.
Basically, because you'd get sued. - nofxjunkee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That's why we should just report this as lame (like I did) or ignore it, and move on to the more interesting things on Digg. After WWDC I'll digg any story that summarizes the new things, but summarizing rumours is lame imo.
- rgov, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Been living under a rock? Tiger is already for x86, and it goes without saying that Leopard will be.
- dancpsu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1What's to stop someone from making a Mac clone just like Compaq made a IBM PC clone? There have to be relatively few custom chips for reverse engineering, and the firmware can't be that bad. You would just have to purchase OS X separately (like at any Apple store).
- rgov, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Shame on you all for not digging me down for an inaccurate statement.
Obviously OS X does not include a ROM (d'oh) because a ROM is part of the hardware. I meant, machines designed for OS X do not. This is part of the reason why OS 9 is not bootable on G5s - although there might be some incompatibility with the chip, a larger problem is that the machines stopped including the ROM needed to boot them.
If you check your OS 9 System Folder for the Classic Environment, you'll see a file in there which includes the ROM data needed. - Kelmon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"So this is a roundup of all fantasies from the fanboys"
Well, yes. That's pretty obvious. Are you suggesting that Windows doesn't have rumours as well and users making statements of what they'd like to see in new versions? Have you never wished, for example, that Windows Explorer would give you a keyboard shortcut to create a new folder rather than making you go through menus? Give me a break... - darkyoshi, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5Yay! Radio that's not free!
- samgab, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1That all sounds perfectly reasonable digitallysick. Sometimes people get their expectations a little high, but it's good to see someone with a good realistic outlook.
- Quix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"The fact that Apple users don't take me seriously is nothing to make me feel bad as most of the tech world do not take mac users seriously."
And yet here you are, flag564, wasting your precious time on Apple story after Apple story, trying to run up your negative digg count as high as possible. For an insignificant computing platform such as Apple, you certainly seem obsessively interested...
Jealousy, or desperate cry for help?
"You really ought to look at yourselves from the other side of the mirror."
Yes flag564, you really should. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Lets see we need a full screen color ipod with no less than 150gb storage to start, a new powerbook intel core duo, maybe some core duo mac mini's , and leopard (and it needs to be more than just a few changes to tiger) something impressive, i would be happy
- Sanchez, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5chrstophersdad: You seem to be missing the point that outside the internet tech world, people are actually looking forward to vista.
- Kelmon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0"John C. Dvorak even wrote a piece"
This was the point where I tuned out. This is the man who openly admits to simply trying to wind-up Mac users so his opinion really doesn't matter.
Anyway, perhaps people are making up this stuff because they find it fun. Fun. Remember that? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Don't forget the Apple ***** Generator with integrated wireless networking! At the touch of a button, it creates a Digg post about the mysterious things that Steve Jobs had to remove from his keynote, filling in the details using lyrics from whatever song you're listening to:
"Did Steve Jobs drop the announcement of.. TELL ME WHATCHA WANT, WHATCHA REALLY REALLY WANT from his WWDC keynote?" - flag564, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1"@OP of this thread. You're kinda right, but you said it in an *****-ish way so no one takes you seriously."
Really, How else can you explain grown men sitting around making up stories almost out of the blue, planting them on websites, making photoshop mockups and claiming that they are real devices photographed without Apples knowledge, and then acting as if the made up stories and the photoshop images are going to be real products even though you know the whole thing is MADE UP!
The fact that Apple users don't take me seriously is nothing to make me feel bad as most of the tech world do not take mac users seriously. John C. Dvorak even wrote a piece about how easy and childish mac users are that illustrates to the letter the reaction of people on this thread.
You really ought to look at yourselves from the other side of the mirror. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Pfft, I'm hoping for the impossible.
Mac OS X Leopard for Mac and Windows
You know you all you want it? ;) - scriabinop23, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Even better, Mac OS X Leopard for x86. apple's stock would go to $100 overnight.
- blankartist, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3Me-ow. I smell a cat fight. Will you ladies be using mud or jello-pudding this evening?
- PBFanatic1919, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4http://digg.com/design/Digg_Story_To_Add_Rumors_Section_Under_Technology
Digg that to add a rumors section under technology. - samgab, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4Don't forget the built-in fm radio and TV tuner...
- anphanax, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3"unlike the dread that Windows users are feeling for the release of Vista"
Yeah, it's going to be horrible having new search mechanisms. I'm REALLY upset about this whole "not running as administrator" thing. Also, Making IE6 suck less (IE7) was like totally stupid. Microsoft is gay.[/sarcasm] - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -14/+7Much better round-up here:
http://digg.com/apple/Mac_Pros_Xserves_Leopard_at_WWDC_movie_rentals_and_nanos_in_Sept
More professional, more informed, and definately not biased. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2What about the 100gb iPods with touchscreens, wi-fi, bluetooth, and Leopard?
- comart, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1Where's iChat ? give me iChat =)
http://dholes.pxax.com/index.php - christophersdad, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1Who still listens to FM? XM Radio baby! :)
- christophersdad, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1and looking.....and looking.....and looking.....and looking......and looking
- flag564, on 10/12/2007, -29/+6So I guess you agree with me since you cant answer what I said.
- flag564, on 10/12/2007, -50/+5So this is a roundup of all fantasies from the fanboys.
Apple must truly suck if its users have to resort to making up stories to make them look good. Why don't you just let them alone and have the REAL news be enough. Or is reality just disappointing even to the Apple fan base?
