- fudgebrown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I am an Aperture believer. Ever since I started shooting RAW, it has proven to be a God-Send. It should only get better. I pray for more speed though. I want to see real-time white balance changes (and not have to get coffee while the changes occur).
- zonk3r, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6My guess is they'll also launch an updated version of the MacBook Pro with Core 2 Duo (should be plenty fast for Aperture) and perhaps show a few new features in Leopard. Just a guess...
- phisquare, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Um. No.
- stmiller, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Aperture is a great program, but a takes a strong computer to run. At least on the PPC side.
- diggmaddy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5YES! I want an iPhone.
- Ireland, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I think we'll see aperture 2.0, the New Core2Duo MacBook Pro with magnetic latch and MacBook-esque keyboard & the New Cinema Displays, which will be thinner, lighter and bigger, with IR sensors, built-in iSight and iMac-like hidden speakers. (20", 24" and 32")
- MadOtaku, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I doubt that coverflow could handle RAW images. that would take such a powerful comp. maybe the MacPro could do it?
- xM55, on 10/02/2009, -2/+5Lol. I guess they decided they had to get this iPod out there before the Zune player... And considering Apple usually gets overloaded with orders, and backs everything up, they need a few months to start shipping them.
(I'm a Mac user, btw.) - Matic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This was a small update by apple (Tuesday) for the main iPod which gives me the impression that a new generation is coming virtual clickwheel iPod (widescreen)
I just want a friggin iPhone already - BWhaler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Man I need a new MacBook Pro. I hope it comes out soon.
And an iPhone would be great also, since every phone on the market sucks right now. - Ireland, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If you're interested in this story, you might also be interested in this thread: http://forums.appleinsider.com/showthread.php?t=66777
And yes, it's my thread. Only members can vote in the poll, so if you want to take part you know what you must do. - nofxjunkee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I sure hope we see some Core 2 Duo MacBook Pros soon, otherwise I'm just going with the MacBook later this month. Backlit keyboard and a nice video card are cool, but not worth the > $500 to me. (If I wasn't using a G4 Mini right now I'd hold off till Leopard came out as well)
- rkettner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That'll never happen. Their customers would be so mad at them (especially anyone that placed an order for the upgraded 5g iPOD.
- MadOtaku, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2but it wasn't. It only overuses RAM when you use coverflow, everything else is fine for me. and since I have 2GB of RAM, 300MB is nothing to me (usually over 1GB is unused).
- FitFinlay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1TUAW is saying the 25th
http://www.tuaw.com/2006/09/14/confirmed-apple-to-hold-special-event-on-sept-25th/ - solarisom, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Perhaps they'll integrate CoverFlow into Aperture. That would be pretty.
- MadOtaku, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oops, I meant to reply to the comment below :P
- yonis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My Mac Pro stutters in CoverFlow view while it loads up the album art it's supposed to display. There's no way Aperture could handle doing that with RAW.
- inkswamp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1> Is it possible for Apple to just release a product without having a damn press event?
Yeah, no kidding! Can't they just release these things and try to keep it all low-key and quiet? What are they trying to do, sell these things or something? Sheesh!
(Wish there was an emoticon for rolling my eyes.) - MadOtaku, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have to agree with rkettner; I know I would be pissed. It's about 6-8 months away, I would guess.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Another "brighter screen" announcement?
- yonis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It does indeed, and it's because I have over six thousand songs. The hard disk is having a hard time keeping up with me when I scroll the length of the bar.
The reason that Cover Flow technology would stutter on Aperture is because you'd be magnifying that data transfer rate by a hundred fold. Unless it used JPEG thumbnails to do its thing, it just wouldn't be a viable option.
Though I think browsing through photo sets would be ludicrous in the first place with something like a Cover Flow view. Pro photographers take several shots in a row and wouldn't be able to pick out the best one like that. - goodcompany, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I am crossing my fingers for updated Cinema displays - dual DVI inputs PLEASE ALREADY.
- alej744, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Coverflow shouldn't stutter on a MAC PRO.
I have a ***** eMac and Coverflow works really nice. - geko567, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I haven't had any trouble with iTunes 7 and I'm running it on an iBook G4 with 768Mb of ram. I guess it's just hit and miss. I haven't stopped using CoverFlow since i downloaded the update.
- ericeman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1First the iTunes event, than this-- I can't wait for a Final Cut announcement!
- Soulscribe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not saying that they'll release it now, but didn't they release the original video iPod about a month after the Nano? Also, the price drop for the iPods leaves room in the product line. (I know, off topic)
- michaelkirk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Photokina is about cameras and photography, right. As I have heard, supplies of iSight cameras are getting low and some orders have been delayed. I think it is not impossible to see a new iSight model introduced at Photokina. Typically supplies of Apple products begin to wane before a new version is released and the iSight is becoming hard to buy, not to mention overdue for an upgrade.
- Escamillo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Is it possible for Apple to just release a product without having a damn press event? It's like they think anything they do, no matter how trivial ($99 iPod cases, anyone?) is so big and important that it deserves a press event. 4 out of the last 5 press events have been duds, because they have press events for things that don't deserve them.
- CypherXero, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1There are much better photo tools out there than...coverflow. Try using Aperture or Adobe Bridge.
- nusuni, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1It will probably be an updated Aperture, but you never know.. they may do a welcomed refresh of the MacBook Pro. Or maybe some new sort of new display?
- alej744, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Shut up man, Apple rulz!!
Steve Jobs !yeah wpooooooooo!! - phpfreak, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2I wouldn't be too surprised... after all the updated iPod with video did seem a little underwhelming...
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -10/+4OMGADZ NEW IPODS AND HALOGRAPHIC IMACS AR EBEING RELEASED 24TH.
reliable sources have confirmed this.
(i consider my ass to be a reliable source of information) - mas4977, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2Maybe they will announce that iTunes 7.0 was a flop?
- Dihuko, on 10/12/2007, -12/+4Watch them unveil the "widescreen" video iPod after what Microsoft did today with the Zune.
