- inactive, on 11/27/2008, -4/+33Anyone know what completely unrealistic small print accompanies this offer?
*You must bring the CEO of the competing company into the Apple Store with you to verify competitor's item price.
**Minimum spend $5,000
**Buyer must submit to DRM implant chip. - vaguilera, on 11/27/2008, -3/+27somehow I feel you wont get great prices either way
- inactive, on 11/27/2008, -2/+16Buried duplicate. I'm tired of seeing the same story about how Apple will price-match themselves.
- Lynx77777, on 11/27/2008, -1/+12The minimum spend is easy at least, a mouse and a keyboard would take you over that threshold.
- inactive, on 11/27/2008, -2/+11Attractive Prices = Almost Normal Prices?
This is Apple... - Astrocreep137, on 11/27/2008, -1/+9I suppose this woud be a great promotion if Apple products weren't all price-fixed the way they are...
- anderzole, on 11/25/2008, -6/+13Wrong link - Correct one here: http://digg.com/apple/Apple_Stores_to_match_compet ...
- Trax91, on 11/27/2008, -0/+5So, Apple have a competitor selling their own products? I don't think its a real competition unless it means matching to a third party manufacturer like Dell and Acer.
- phoomp, on 11/27/2008, -0/+4Given how tightly Apple controls reseller prices, I'd don't think we'll see too much from this.
- Rekzai, on 11/27/2008, -0/+4Buried as dupe, heard about this on digg 2034736846573438 times & the link isn't even right
- Pake, on 11/27/2008, -0/+3That's not saying much when you go to the other dealers and find out that the only way they can even discount an Apple item is with Apple's permission. That means that if you see a sale on a Apple item at BestBuy, the sale price was determined by Apple, not by BestBuy and it would be retarded if Apple couldn't match their own store prices with the ones they had others set.
- alex7575, on 11/27/2008, -0/+3Or just get a teacher to buy for you, they get 30% off.
- richw, on 11/27/2008, -0/+3so how many times until tomorrow is this going to be posted on digg?
- absentmindedjwc, on 11/27/2008, -2/+5gl77: /retard
thought I should fix that for you - inactive, on 11/27/2008, -1/+4Now your video card can fail at an almost reasonable price!
- Musicmonkey34, on 11/27/2008, -0/+3thats it, im opening my own business. Free apple store with purchase...of ipod shuffle.
*offer not good at any musicmonkey34 locations
{we miss you Mitch Hedberg} - redfan, on 11/27/2008, -0/+3That sucks. I got 8% with an employee (non-Apple) discount. Once again teachers get the shaft...
- keviniskool, on 11/27/2008, -0/+3Not really. I only got 5% off a Macbook Pro with a teacher discount.
- FreddieD, on 11/27/2008, -0/+3Dr. Porkenheimer's Bonerjuice?
If your erection lasts longer than four hours, brag to all your friends. - Lynx77777, on 11/27/2008, -2/+4"...great time to purchase Apple products at attractive prices"
Thats an oxymoron right there. - System6, on 11/27/2008, -1/+3This will be the 3rd time this has hit the front page. Not very exciting for me, but good news to many!
- ultrafez, on 11/27/2008, -0/+2For Pete's sake, grow up, stop saying "Winblows"... you're not big or clever.
- alex7575, on 11/27/2008, -0/+2You're 2 years younger than my younger brother.
Why am I telling you this? I don't know, you started it. - Nothlit, on 11/27/2008, -1/+3First of all, it is not an acronym. Writing "MAC" just makes you look like you don't know what you are talking about.
Secondly, Mac OS X does indeed allow multiple desktops. It is called Spaces.
Yes, the Dock grows as apps are opened. Same as the Windows taskbar gains more buttons as you open more apps. You can shrink it.
You do not have to pay for minor updates (same as Windows). You do have to pay for major version updates (same as Windows).
The menu at the top of the screen is different, but not worse, and you would get used to it after a few days using it. It is nice to be able to just sort of shove the mouse up and have it land on the menu, without having to necessarily aim for it. - brentinkc, on 11/27/2008, -1/+3***** the fanboys, that made me laugh my ass off
- solid12345, on 11/27/2008, -0/+2I should HOPE that Apple could deliver a price matched to a middle man...
- izelpii, on 11/28/2008, -0/+1Mac is for shadowy people dancing to cool tunes.
That is why me, and a lot of people will not switch to Macs, even with low prices:
http://www.christianloza.com/whyIDontUseAMac - frouse, on 11/27/2008, -0/+1The Apple New Zealand site has 7% savings today, don't get excited.
- cyssero, on 04/18/2009, -0/+1They don't, but their normal goods are just as expensive.
- guyperson, on 11/27/2008, -1/+2It's the same submitter. He just made a mistake with this one.
- inactive, on 11/27/2008, -1/+2If you know what i'm saying?
- srodolff, on 11/27/2008, -0/+1So, Toshiba, Sony, HP, and Dell are competitors of Apple. Will they match their prices?
I'm not holding my breath... - radner, on 11/27/2008, -1/+2You mean $3.00 off a new macbook pro and, gasp, free shipping? Where do I line up?
- bouche, on 11/27/2008, -0/+1could this be duplicated anymore?
- saisumimen, on 11/27/2008, -0/+1(End of thread)
- alex7575, on 11/27/2008, -0/+1I have a couple of friends who are teachers, and they said they get 30% off (they're sisters). Could it be store specific? (highly doubt it)
- Urkel, on 11/28/2008, -0/+1Don't worry. After this weekend you won't hear any news of Apple discounts for another 10 years.
- ariez84, on 11/27/2008, -0/+1How the ***** did this get on the front page with the wrong ***** link? This proves that no one actually reads the article and just press the Digg button when they are key words like *Linux* *Apple* *Microsoft Sucks* on the title.
- gl77, on 11/27/2008, -8/+8oh god....god....ohhhhhhhhhhhhAPPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! (splooges in pants again)
/apple fanboy - charmaniac, on 11/27/2008, -1/+1After the "3G" iPhone debacle, I have decided that Apple's products are overpriced, overhyped crap. I would short their stock if I had enough balls. Who the hell is going to buy expensive computers that can't run most PC games and are not even that fast?
- johnny81, on 02/17/2009, -0/+0mac isnt that much gerat. low apps is the biggest problem
http://www.linbuilderz.com/ - jayselle, on 11/29/2008, -1/+1You really don't have a clue. Maybe when you grow up and want things to "just work" you will sing a different song.
- inactive, on 11/27/2008, -1/+1I've always wondered why that is. I can't believe I've gone 29 years without knowing. Thank you.
- esus4, on 11/28/2008, -0/+0Does Apple pay for these commercials?
- absentmindedjwc, on 11/27/2008, -2/+2wasnt there something on here saying that this is a normal apple policy?
- alex7575, on 11/27/2008, -2/+1Don't worry, it'll go away in a bit. People call it "morning wood" it helps hold the pee pee when you're asleep.
- absentmindedjwc, on 11/27/2008, -5/+4well... since your link has a "2" at the end of it... I am assuming this one came first... nice try though
buried and dugg down
