- Spartan225, on 01/14/2008, -1/+58Or how about the fact that in the description of the products, Memory and Cinima Display it clearly says Macbook instead of Macbook Air? Also 2.8ghz Intel Core 2 Duo in a Ultra Mobile Laptop....sure no problem....
- aaronmcdonald, on 01/14/2008, -3/+27No no its gotta be real! It says air next to the name so it must be real!
- joshuaer, on 01/14/2008, -0/+24I just laugh at all of this stuff,
Stop trying to peek at your presents and just wait until tomorrow! - inactive, on 01/14/2008, -4/+26Wow. Hard to believe it's fake considering how difficult it is to fake a web page.
- Scape3d, on 01/14/2008, -1/+17Jesus, if you're going to fake something like this at least make it semi-believable. That photo quality is just insulting. Clowns.
- karenflower, on 01/14/2008, -3/+15Look at the quality of the Macbook Air photo. Of course it's fake!
- peterschussheim, on 01/14/2008, -1/+13This is the most laughable of the MacWorld rumors to surface...2.8ghz processor??? please...... SSD standard equipment?? LOL.....all for under 2 GRAND!!! at least get the capacities correct...what a JOKE!!!
- otatop, on 01/14/2008, -1/+13Ever heard of a little thing called sarcasm?
- simplenation, on 01/14/2008, -1/+10yeah, because screenshots are all real
- msodrew, on 01/14/2008, -0/+8I'm gonna GIF you so hard.
- Zebceponaf, on 01/14/2008, -0/+8um..ever hear of....nevermind.
- bjornski, on 01/14/2008, -0/+7Why don't you have a seat over here........
- BooshTukka, on 01/14/2008, -1/+7Thank goodness you cleared that up. You're so smart. You should give courses on teh Internets.
Not on sarcasm though, maybe. - web2pointYo, on 01/14/2008, -0/+5You can fake anything on these internets. I even saw a video of a lion crossed with tiger! pppfffft...I mean come on, that cant happen!
- Klarth, on 01/14/2008, -0/+5Haha, 60 GB SSD? Absolutely pathetic. What a cretin.
- Mothity, on 01/14/2008, -1/+6lol thats awful. a crap picture of a current macbook, and iffy tech-specs.
- CraigJ, on 01/14/2008, -1/+6Yes, this rumor is complete *****, but how is 4GB DDR2 @ 667 in a laptop slow? The current MacBook Pro has the same: 2GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 2x1GB
- benplaut, on 01/14/2008, -1/+6No, I haven't.
- Thorox, on 01/14/2008, -0/+4wouldn't apple have named it the iAr? Maybe someone in marketing has dyslexia.
- sfacets, on 01/14/2008, -0/+4This is actually one of those times when you can point a finger and scream "Photoshopped!"
- inactive, on 01/14/2008, -0/+4That's actually what Apple's pages say as well. :-P
- screwattackthis, on 01/14/2008, -0/+4ANY computer becomes unstable when stupid people do stupid things to them.
I really don't get why everyone is so defensive about their operating system. - MScrip, on 01/15/2008, -0/+3Wow... they really did it!
- inactive, on 01/14/2008, -2/+5HAH!
- fjc8, on 01/14/2008, -0/+3The Intel G965 chipset will not run memory any faster than 667MHz, even though it has a 800MHz FSB.
- inactive, on 01/14/2008, -0/+3Yeah, I agree. The whole "MacBook Air" thing is dumb.
- lupinglade, on 01/15/2008, -0/+3nah, all the images are same quality, its just low colors for compression.
- theShiba, on 01/14/2008, -0/+2I'd like to peek at YOUR presents...
- masterc, on 01/15/2008, -1/+3I (but not you) realized that he was being sarcastic.
- MacMasore, on 01/14/2008, -0/+2!FAKE!
The text about the SSD is almost copied from the real apple store, I think apple would be more inventive to sell such an expensive 80GB "hard drive". (by the way I wouldn't put money on an ultraportable). - MacEnvy, on 01/14/2008, -0/+2Don't forget to leave out Doritos and bourbon for Santa Steve tonight!
- RevToTheRedline, on 01/14/2008, -0/+2Hahahah, buy in to it, so fake. My 24" iMac can barely keep it's 2.8Ghz C2D cool, ***** to this ultra light laptop with one.
- dark_ryan, on 01/15/2008, -0/+2Two things:
1.) Why guess what's going to be announced tommorrow, when you can't even get it today (unlike presents).
And
2.) This is obviously bs because if you go on Apple's site to configure the MacBook Pro, it will say "MacBook Pro" in the descriptions, whereas this photoshopped screenshot says "MacBook". Now wouldn't you say it should say "MacBook Air" in the descriptions? - FredFredrickson, on 01/14/2008, -5/+7The only time Windows machines become unstable is when stupid people do stupid things to them. Take care of your Windows machine, and it won't crash at all. I can't say the same for my Mac at work, which gives me the black screen of death once a month, and has font issues every time it restarts.
- scoottie, on 01/14/2008, -0/+2WTF is the air for? Are these like Air Jordan's?
- insertAliasHere, on 01/14/2008, -0/+2Are you suggesting that this is a real screenshot? I wouldn't be surprised at all if there really will be a "MacBook Air," but this screenshot is surely fake.
- msodrew, on 01/14/2008, -0/+2Valleywag needs traffic. Look at those paltry 3 comments. Sad.
- Firehed, on 01/15/2008, -0/+2That and if anything was Super Hi Def, the 30" already would be, as it already pulls in 2560x1600 res (way above 1280x720 or 1920x1080). There are tons of things on this page that scream complete nonsense.
- faster3200, on 01/14/2008, -0/+1I agree with the ddr2 667 comment. That is not slow, that is stock speed for a 1333 fsb proc, like the Mac would be using.
Let me explain. The fsb and ram speed are linked with Intel procs. The final CPU FSB is determined by taking the FSB and multiplying it by 4 (in this case 333mhz > approx. 1333mhz with fluctuation) Assuming Apple uses a 1:1 ratio (which is the most common) than the speed of the ram would be 333mhz multiplied by two (333mhz > approx. 667mhz with fluctuation).
Any Ram running faster than 667mhz would really only appeal to enthusiasts and overclockers, not to a laptop market. - MrMoonlight, on 01/14/2008, -0/+1nike air +
- thuang513, on 01/15/2008, -0/+1ahh turns out to be major ***** afterall...if only the macbook air really had these specs...
- BooshTukka, on 01/14/2008, -0/+1"Haha. I laugh...... lol."
I don't know if you needed to actually quantify what you were doing there. I get them impression you may have been having a chuckle.
Do I look like a clown to you? - RoxStar1968, on 01/14/2008, -0/+1I value your humility
- MrTFM, on 01/14/2008, -0/+140 inch Cinema display????
AHAHAHAHAH!!!!
Fantastic fake, IMHO! - MacMasore, on 01/14/2008, -0/+1No they just introduced new iPods.
- ThreeDee912, on 01/14/2008, -0/+1Why did they make the 'screenshot' a GIF? So the compression hides the bad photoshopping they did? And Apple never updates the Apple Store site until after Jobs is done presenting the new product.
- macpro2006, on 01/14/2008, -0/+1also go to macbookair.com and see what happens
- macpro2006, on 01/14/2008, -0/+1i know that you can see a new 40" screen but they look thiner to me also
- edgareinstein, on 01/14/2008, -0/+1thinksecret back up?
not loading for me..
http://www.macbookairblog.com/post/23762307 - MacnCidar, on 01/14/2008, -0/+1I knew it was fake as soon as I saw how cheap the RAM upgrades were. Only $150 for 2 more Gig? Never.
