2. Wait 12 years
3. $$$$$$$!
Now that's a business plan! - tom6a, on 10/11/2007, -1/+111iPhone.com in 1998 - Internet Phone Protest site.

- ssavoy, on 10/11/2007, -2/+42iWish iCould've done that.
- valleyvideo, on 10/11/2007, -3/+35Tip of the hat to Mr. Kovatch. Dude paid domain fees for over ten years and probably turned down previous offers.
- NnyDarko, on 10/11/2007, -1/+30No need to even give Gizmodo traffic. The description is the entire article. I was at least hoping for some more content.
- Hipple, on 10/11/2007, -0/+25So apparently Michael Kovatch is kind of a nutjob.
- timo1023, on 10/11/2007, -0/+24*Goes out to register every possible iNoun.com*
- djspike, on 10/11/2007, -0/+20I woulda loved to have seen the look on this guys face as soon as Steve Jobs announced the iPhone during his keynote.
- CarolynMittens, on 10/11/2007, -0/+17so if someone offered you $1 million for the name you'd say no thank you? :P
- PatrickA, on 10/11/2007, -4/+207 digit sum? I really can't believe that he let this go for less than $10 million.
- mccarron, on 10/11/2007, -3/+19Seeing that Apple sold $420 million worth of iPhones this weekend that $1-9 million sum is nothing.
- halfabean, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12as long as its not iWatch uMasturbate
- iamdeirdre, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12"iPhone.com in 1998 - Internet Phone Protest site.

Anyone else think it's funny to write a protest about the "rich people" who have computers and use the internet, ON the internet? - LukyJay, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12The irony.
- GMorgan, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10Now he supports Internet phoning since he is rich enough to afford it.
- mseneschal, on 10/11/2007, -3/+11Agreed... you'd poop your pants if someone offered you 20-bucks. Personally, I would have held off until Apple paid me 17-bigillion-kadrillion dollarrrs (Dr. Evil style).
- Frost9999, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9Seriously? Just start registering i-something domains... iphone is gone but you could try for future products that apple don't make yet. iCAR, iBIKE, iTISSUE, iEYE, iHAZCHEEZEBURGER.. etc
- MikeonTV, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10What does flogged mean?
- Shando, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8English slang for 'sold'
- dtribe, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8You're an arse, mate.
- rafa1215, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9I think he should of leased it instead. Maybe 500k per month. Free products from Apple as well. 1 million only lasts so long. 500k per month forever is the best deal around.
- Flyfishing, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6He must've seen it on wikipedia...
- chris9902, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5iJobs. It's a life size version of Jobs that bums you. It's bound to be a best seller.
- Frost9999, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Plus, gizmodo link to the actual article which has much more information: http://blog.domaintools.com/2007/07/iphone-now-owned-by-apple/
- SmokeMeAKipper, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Surprised that Apple didn't use the trademark law to snatch the domain back. Oh, wait they don't have a trademark.
- DaffyDuck, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4That's already happened.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4His site would have seen a lot of traffic, but I think everyone here would have been sold for the $1mil though.
- haggie, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Reminds of the guy whose initials were M and P, but found that MP.com, MP1.com, and MP2.com were already taken, so he took MP3.com. Unlike Mr. Kovatch, Mr. MP had no idea what he had and sold the domain for something like $50-60K to that asshat Michael Roberts.
- SmokeMeAKipper, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Welcome to the iNTERNET
- AnubisReturns, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4iRan and iRack
- joeyjojo402, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Well said brother. Now if you'll excuse me I'll just be turning the page.
- Hangender, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3iDigg, iWeb, iLove, iTerriost, register them all!
- slapthemonkey, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Lucky Guy!!
- Nodren, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3your comment was so horrible i actually took the time to log in just to digg you down.
- Todda00, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I don't think I've ever seen so many hr lines on a page with such little content.
- Tibin05, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Took the words right out of my mouth. I wouldn't even entertain any amount under 10 mill. :) (If someone other that Apple, or someone much smaller were trying to purchase then that would be a different story.)
- 00Dan, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2RE: The guy's an idiot, he should have used it to make more money because of the traffic.
Unfortunately, that would not have worked. He would not be able to leverage the iPhone angle or he would become a squatter and Apple would get the domain for free. There's alot he could do with the domain from people typing the URL, but you can only make so much from random banner ads with 0 click thru. - techiemike, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5I'm sick of iPhone stories, and just when I thought the front page was rid of them...
- Jugalator, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2iLoo.com is for sale! *tips*
- akh4x0r, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4*buys www.iran.com*
- nick123, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1yeah, I needed a spell checker when I registered it! :-( Oh well!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1so? you get a free phone on top of it.
- dandiemer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I was gonna say, sounds like he had his business reasonably founded.
- mattprice, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Your attempt at being funny has failed.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1funny that he held on to it for that long well i am glad he did, it would have pissed me off if that one doctor guy who buys every domain he can would have had it.
i guess that someone else has the same idea for
ibread.com
itoast.com - Tibin05, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1haha! yeah, that would be great.
- thesquirrelwood, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1because apple would agree to that of course...
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1i would have said. 1 iphone with max plan for 5 years and new iphone ever year and 100,000 a month. after 1 year they can have
