- themurph2099, on 10/11/2007, -15/+124I actually think this one is worth airing on television. It's very well done.
- KSUdesigner, on 10/11/2007, -8/+116I'd much rather see Apple do something like this campaign again than watch one more of those Mac vs. PC ads.
- meatmcguffin, on 10/11/2007, -2/+101Just to stop the incoming wave of comments made by clueless people, the audio is from an actual Apple ad made several years back.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUfH-BEBMoY - codywalton, on 10/11/2007, -11/+76very nice. I miss the old "think different" camgain.
- Jawsh91, on 10/11/2007, -5/+64You are a noob.
That's the original. - Tunguska, on 10/11/2007, -21/+80"One thing PC users can do that Mac users can't...
... SHUT THE ***** UP"
- Maddox - derder89, on 10/13/2007, -15/+63Steve Jobs
- falcon707, on 10/13/2007, -4/+52Psh. You *always* get dugg up for saying "Steve Jobs." Watch.
.....Steve Jobs - rspeed, on 10/11/2007, -3/+35Most people who use Macs aren't fanboys. Same goes for Windows and Linux.
Well, maybe not Linux. (kidding!) - johnburk, on 10/11/2007, -2/+34Great ad and message. Is there a higher video quality version of it?
- KSUdesigner, on 10/11/2007, -4/+29The audio is from an old Apple ad *****. This guy just made a typographic movie of the audio that already existed.
- LemmingJesus, on 10/11/2007, -2/+27I'm glad that my choice in what I use to watch porn pushes the human race forward.
- KireGoTI, on 10/11/2007, -4/+29Godwin's Law.
- esoterica, on 10/11/2007, -2/+20I'm surprised at how few people here recognize that the audio portion of this ad is in fact from an actual Apple ad in the late 1990's, after Jobs returned to Apple.
- dn11, on 10/11/2007, -1/+18that's crazy talk
- brian1625, on 10/11/2007, -2/+18"You can quote them, bury them, digg them up or vilify them."
- trax76, on 10/11/2007, -3/+17Bush changed the world too.
- shortarabguy, on 10/11/2007, -3/+16Would you kindly explain how you get dug up for saying nothing more than "Steve Jobs"?
Good commercial. Back in the day, commercials had a bit of class. These days it's all about Paris Hilton giving your car a lap dance in a bikini while holding a burger... - jonahan52, on 10/11/2007, -2/+13It's just you .. That's Richard Dreyfuss.
- meatmcguffin, on 10/11/2007, -3/+13Go kill yourself now then. The original - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUfH-BEBMoY
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11My physics classroom has all the old 'Think Different' posters with Einstein, Feynman, etc. hung around the walls.
They help me remember why I'm there ;-) - bradg2, on 10/11/2007, -3/+13@ hoppdawg
I think that went way over everybodys heads.....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ENTP - IgnatzMouse, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12Looks nice, but a bit monotonous! Doesn't hold up on repeated viewings, but with some different images added (the Think Different stills)... well, who knows.
- dn11, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10My Little Pony changed the world too, that's what i thought this was a commercial for
- Kwipper, on 10/11/2007, -4/+12But... I want to run Crysis on a Mac... in Direct X 10 support... at it least a steady 30 frames per second.
- ikkebra, on 10/11/2007, -3/+10http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gE857DJWX2w - direct
- tektalk, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9Dear noobs,
Though you may think you know enough about computers, it still doesn't give you the right to bash a well done apple ad.
sincerely,
an annoyed digg user - mult1task, on 10/11/2007, -9/+15The voice in the ad resembles Richard Dreyfuss (Jaws, Mr. Holland's Opus) so much.
- SaintStryfe, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8BTW, the Poem they use in the video isn't complete - there is a longer version. I've given a copy to students who I think would be inspired by it, and many enjoyed it. I keep a copy that a friend did in calligraphy pens by hand as a graduation gift. Speaking as someone who has had to deal with a lot of being a round peg in many square holes (as many diggers are also), I think it touches home.
"Here's to the crazy ones.
The Misfits. The Rebels. The troublemakers.
The round pegs in the the square holes.
The ones who see things differently.
They're not fond of rules.
And they have no respect for the status quo.
You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them,
disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
Because they change things.
They invent. They imagine. They heal.
They explore. They create. They inspire.
They push the human race forward.
Maybe they have to be crazy.
How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art?
Or sit in silence and hear a song that's never been written?
Or gaze at a red plant and see a laboratory on wheels?
We make tools for these kinds of people.
While some see them as the crazy ones,
We see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to think
they can change the world, are the ones who do." - pyro789x, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6The rational man is the man who attempts to adapt to the world, the irrational man is the man who attempts to adapt the world to himself.
Thus, all progress depends on the irrational man.
I'm not sure where I heard that from, but I'm pretty sure I heard it elsewhere before. - bradg2, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7*****.
- spvaland, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5It's not that great. I can't remember how many videos with the same exact style of moving vector text I've seen on YouTube in the past few months. It's the rounds corners and gradients of contemporary Flash-o-philes.
- LaueOfficer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5ha, you fail at spamming.
- Jakerius, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Agreed, although it'd make a nice change from the Mac vs PC ads. I suppose Apple keeps making them out of generosity to Justin Long.
- thirty6chambers, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Let's get this clear for those who don't know.
The copywriting is from the original Think Different campaign. - antitab, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Baz Lurman. Different guy.
- StanleyKoolPrik, on 10/11/2007, -4/+8This ad is beautiful because it illustrates how the typical Mac user thinks of themselve. They think theyre special and unique and big bad rebels. Fact is, they are none of these things. Theyre just trendy *****.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5I'm pretty good at ignoring actually. Especially with the handy block button..
- Ignathius, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4is that richard dryfuss narating?
- captjc, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Actually there was an old parody of the Think Different ad that featured Hitler and other "Crazy ones" I thought it was pretty funny.
http://www.flamingmailbox.com/maccomedy/movies/thinkdiff.html - ChayD, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4That was Baz Luhrmann - Everybody's Free To Wear Sunscreen. Agreed, it does have that sort of style to it.
- kestrel127, on 10/11/2007, -4/+7/robotvoice
Must think different.
Must think Apple. - UtahApocalyse, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4I was thinking of that song that was big in the mid-90's "wear sunscreen" or whatever that was.
- zabouth, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4so apple are going to hire Pinky and the Brain?
- FluffyArmada, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Nah, INTP, I think. I'm like you, but less annoying to be people around me. :-p
- rspeed, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Slick, but not nearly as inspiring as the original.
- Complexium, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Al Gore does...and he's super cereal about his work.
- l3roken, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I thought it sounded like Baz Luhrman from Sunscreen Graduation Speech
- mossblaser, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I don't think Bush should be allowed near a computer...
- marnaq, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3omg I just had a steve jobs moment. i feel enlightened.
