- KyleRayner, on 10/12/2007, -2/+65Apple.com has to be the Only site that people say good things about when it goes down. XD
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+36don't forget about the RIAA website ;)
- johnjreiser, on 10/12/2007, -0/+31Minor Additions: 2-1
iPod Updates: 3-1
iPod Video: 10-1
Mac Pro: 10-1 - aquax, on 10/12/2007, -8/+35It's the new MacBooks with the "color changing palm rest" features.
- jasonlich, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22And a much better tag line.
- Diseage, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22down for maintenance? Yeah, in the middle of a work day, when sales are highest... not likely.
If this was 1am, sure. But noon? no. - codethis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12not to mention the other one was submitted after this one
- fluidfoundation, on 10/12/2007, -10/+21I KNOW WHAT IT IS!!
Its the new Apple Space Heater!
It heats the space on top of your lap to 200 degrees!
I think it also has a built in computer. - dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -5/+16This is retarded. Apple's made no announcements and there's been little in the way of rumors for new speculated releases. The store could be down for maintenance!
- longboarder543, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Looks like it was the iNothing
- fudgebrown, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13just some new iPod Sock colors.
- ndm007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9The Apple Store was down in order for the iSight and AirPort Extreme base station to be removed from the European stores, in order to complie with new regulations:
http://digg.com/apple/iSight_and_AirPort_Extreme_removed_from_The_Apple_Store - fluidfoundation, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Apple Store employees dont know what comes out before we do.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12Woodcrest was announced as available today by Intel. I bet it's the Mac Pro. Other than that though, look at the top bar - "iPod and iTunes" has changed to "Music". Cue "Movies" tab too?
- joelhardi, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11What, no Final Countdown?
Seriously, how lame is it for a major ecommerce site to go down every time there's a major change to the front page layout ... if it were Amazon and that happened, somebody would get fired. WebObjects used to cost hundreds of thousands, and now Apple's *giving* it away as part of Xcode, and they're the pretty much the only ones still eating this particular flavor of dog food. - getgreg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Somewhere Steve Jobs just yelled "PSYCH!!!!"
- p3ngu1n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8It's back up - it's nothing.
- dougmwpsu, on 10/12/2007, -6/+13i bet it's a new nano
- MadFunk, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12Or, gosh. It could be a technical update. But, whatever, I'm crazy!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12Apple could fart and fanboys will stick their heads up for a whiff.
- ventro, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7It's gonna be a new Xserve. Guaranteed!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6store is up, nothing new
- dusingaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Airport express with video
- danglerman, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9You guys are a over-reacting. Just because Apple is updating their website (a very typical thing for a website to do) doesn't mean that Apple is releasing a BIG NEW product.
- jmuchrisf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6You don't do technical updates in the middle of a shopping day on a site like apple.com
if it were down for technical reasons, they wouldn't be good.
more likely, it's product update. - TimmyGUNZ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"Is it a coincidence that today is also the day that ZFS is to be released at Sun?"
Yup - Scott2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I'm excited about whatever comes out, I just hope they get those commercials off of their frontpage. Its quite irritating to have to wait for my browser to catch up each time I visit the site. (
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Update:
"Music" replaced "iPod + iTunes"
:) - imatt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Probably a processor upgrade on something.
- titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Remember how the 1 GB Nano came out? exactly.
- cavicster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Maybe I should not open the Macbook that is sitting on my doorstep.
- MrSpontaneous, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I think, if anything, itll be a new nano (larger capacity). The Mac Pros wont be announced till Conroe is released.
- keithzd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4G6? dude, they are going to Intel, that means no more PowerMac G series
- al28p, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Or perhaps an updated "ipod leather case"!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The iPod + iTunes link is gone from the top (from the store). Maybe another hint for another iPod?
- johnjreiser, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5TGMD, this is Humor. I believe you two haven't met.
- brenthals, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4PowerPC iBooks & iMacs are gone
- blocguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4It doesn't necessarily mean that new _hardware_ is going to be released. It could simply be new commercial software. A similar thing happened with the update to Remote Desktop, everyone went crazy about it claiming new iPods etc. and were disappointed when they found out it was just a software update.
Don't get your hopes up, I'm not holding my breath. - hman2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Back up--all I can see is that the Nike + iPod Sport Kit is now shipping, as it says 'Add to cart' versus previously 'Pre-order', I believe.
- xntrk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3yeah i haven't found any changes, i was hoping they would drop the price of the black mac book :(
- jmuchrisf, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4as I stated above. You don't do maintenance on a site like this in the middle of a day.
unless something bad happened. - titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The Intel Mac Minis have had Core Duo and Solo since February.
- joethesupercow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4it's up
- Lutz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4dclowd9901: I bet you tell all the children there is no santa right before christmas...
- Bitruder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I believe they were just pre-building that configuration to buy in store since it's a popular upgrade.
- computermatt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4i care dumb idot
- treblig, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3disappointing...
- 5m0k3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Have you considered checking the "New to the Store" section? http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/1134003/wo/Kr6hCq7fJx4u3DaZmp92bXFSkH1/13.0.19.1.0.8.61.0.6.1.0.1.1.1.1.0
- 5m0k3, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Excellent idea. In fact, I would prefer you ship it to me unopened. Way to be thoughtful :)
- samd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Back up. No changes?!
