AppleStore down, goodness coming?

store.apple.com — The last time the AppleStore was down the MacBook got released. Almost as exciting as the "Digg V3 coming" holding page.

      Seriously, how lame is it for a major ecommerce site to go down every time there's a major change to the front page layout ... if it were Amazon and that happened, somebody would get fired. WebObjects used to cost hundreds of thousands, and now Apple's *giving* it away as part of Xcode, and they're the pretty much the only ones still eating this particular flavor of dog food.

He said they have to be done online unless it's memory. He then said that a new macbook config was coming out this week that would include 2.0ghz 1gb, and 80gig hd. He quoted the actual price from his computer but I cant remember it. It was around 1400 with my student discount.

A similar thing happened with the update to Remote Desktop, everyone went crazy about it claiming new iPods etc. and were disappointed when they found out it was just a software update.
