http://finances-business.blogspot.com/ - grahamenglish, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Quality is more important than quantity, and in the end, it's a better financial decision anyway," Jobs told BusinessWeek last year. "One home run is much better than two doubles," he said, explaining that then there's only one marketing and production budget rather than two.
Brilliant. - NetSliderX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I agree that time will tell how well he can juggle the two. Here's hoping though. I hate to get all nostalgic but these are very refreshing times. Gone are the days of the late nineties where I was one out of two people I knew that either had a Mac or was even interested in one. Apple has come a long way (again..)
By the way, slightly off topic, I am LOVING MY NEW 20'' iMac!!! 2GB Ram baby!!
Sorry ... Dugg! - antdude, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Nice date: 2/6/2006. :)

Well if it gives you 83% of the MP3 market, then why not? - LaviLicious, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"hmm iphone"
That opened my eyes wide when I saw that, especially since Jobs said "We've been talking about a lot of things," - Jammerdelray, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0time will tell how well he does juggling both companies
- SilentSpyder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hmm iphone
- anthony1124, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wierd. I just got a job doing Web Software Development at Emulex Oct 2005... I just put 2 and 2 together. I work for- Jim McCluney.
- Boondoggle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@42kami: "The problem with authoritarian Jobs at the head: he's got major health problems, and he's not going to last much longer...'
That is total FUD. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I hope he can make something good out of Disney.
"There are many, but it starts with focus and a near-religious faith in his strategy."
That's what bothers me, the blind cult following. Those usually end bad. - 42kami, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"One home run is much better than two doubles," he said, explaining that then there's only one marketing and production budget rather than two.
Something hydras like Sony are learning the hard way.
The problem with authoritarian Jobs at the head: he's got major health problems, and he's not going to last much longer... - jables, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0lol yeah wtf?
- LabattsBlue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0" Jobs declined to be interviewed for this article."... so, not really much more insight into Steve. But some more info on the Disney deal.
- yellowDog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Did anybody notice the graphic they show of the cell phone (links to a slideshow) does not show a Pixar movie but the Dreamwork's movie "Shark Tale"? Somebody fire that graphic designer!
- financeguynz, on 03/03/2009, -0/+0Steve Jobs is a dynamic person he made me inspired to make http://www.financejobs.co.nz seeing him at conference in US was really inspiring , though it makes you wonder becuase he is such a dominance in Apple, what will happen in the next couple of years.
Golbal economy aside, things are in the air for apple, we shall see - davymac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0interesting article.. although theres too many "steve jobs is perfect in every way" articles here.. this one was actually a decent one. digg
- yellowDog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ooops, never mind. I've just been corrected by a fellow employee with kids. That IS Nemo.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Well if it gives you 83% of the MP3 market, then why not?"
What if it only gives you < 4% of the computer desktop market though? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Firstly thanks for a great digg. A proper bit of journalism in a really readable article, rather than some low ranking employee's wet dream blog for once, a real breath of fresh air for digg.
Second thing. It's amazing to see that, for all there are constant comparisons between Windows and Mac, Gates and Jobs - they are actually completely different people in terms of what they want from their own life and how they imagine making other people's lives better. In other words Jobs is very much his own man, whereas Gates can sometimes seem like a puppet of his own creation. I can imagine that if Jobs ever got tired of what he does he would have no problem in just walking away, whereas Gates would perhaps have a fear of failure demon on his back about it.
My advice to some of you guys who commented on the "Not enough Sex" paragraph is to read the whole thing, it gets better.
digg+++++ - eastshores, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0"wow, stupid joke ^^^^^"
says the guy with a pic of stevie as his avatar - dkleehammer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Steve Jobs is the man.
- gekkokid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0another difference between Jobs and Gates is that Jobs loves PR and Gates is actually making a difference to the real world with his foundation.
- audibleindia, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0For all you Jobs fans out there... read the book "The Second Coming of Steve Jobs by Alan Deutschman". You guys will love it. After reading that book, I went from being a Bill fan (for over 12 years) to being a Jobs fan totally. The Man "Jobs" is totally (insanely) GREAT! http:www.audibleindia.co.in
- dracula7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0he s my hero!!!!
- gamabunta, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0"wow, stupid joke ^^^^^"
Same goes for Jobs sex comment - ravenmuffin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Best excerpt: "So what's wrong with the products?" Again, executives began offering some answers. Jobs cut them off. "The products SUCK!" he roared. "There's no sex in them anymore!"
Does that mean there is a Hot Coffee GTA patch for my iMac? I'm going to start looking. - tekmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Steve Jobs' tips for being a sucessful CEO:
1) Wear the same outfit at every press release for 5 years in a row.
2) Yell at people until stuff gets done.

You forgot:
3) Sit down and watch while things get *actually* done.
4) Count the money rolling in.
