How so? They have a better hardware setup than most bargain basement PCs. Have you ever owned one to see how much actually goes into one? I've had both, and have seen the difference in a nice clean package that's typically quiet stable, and does what it's supposed without any hassles. I can't say the same about anything I've ever touched in the PC/Microsoft realm.
Before you get too excited my first computer was a TRS-80. I got it when it first came out, and I've owned more than my fair share of PCs and Macs.The older Macs were alright until the PCs finally got off their asses with graphics. You know when they were still 10 years behind everyone else. It also only took them 7 years to finally move into the 64bit realm. Dare i mention how long it took them to have decent bus architecture? Sure IDE was great, but it was no SCSI.
Wake up. Apple has been ahead of the game longer than PCs have been around. Microsoft didn't even register on the map when Apple first started out with the II. Market means nothing about how the hardware is, so you can't use that argument. So please tell us all so factually how Apple's hardware is old technology. You know since it's been 64bit for how many years, and has had a SCSI interface, and RISC CPUs. Tell me, when is PC going to catch up with Apple. Unless you spend the same amount or more, you aren't going to get a PC that even comes close to what you get with the quality of the Apple.

Sorry buddy, but Apple was making PC's before IBM made their first DOS machine, and the Mac was already a PC long before Windows existed. Just because a bunch of ignorant people use the general term "PC" interchangeably with "Windows based PC" doesn't mean that Apple computers aren't PC's. Check out the Altair if you want to see where the PC came from, and check out the PBS series "Triumph of the Nerds" for some background on the history of the PC. It's a good series, even if it's a bit dated now (it's from '96). For instance at that time the web was in it's infancy, and Steve Jobs had left Apple and it looked like they were about to die at any time. What were the engineers thinking trying to cram all that "Old technology" into a small, simple, and now affordable, solution. The mac mini just sux dudes and don't get me started on the imac g5's. OH ya, and all their comps are white, wtf are they gay? I mean, you can't even game on them either lollollol. WTF! God forbid I should do something more productive. Oh and the ipod video sucks too, its not even...uhh...an ipod video. I mean, how dare they use the near perfect design of the ipod and slap a video screen on it. ***** pirates. They're only popular because of all the gay fanboys that don't even know anything about computers. Rot in hell Apple.
