- Nobiting, on 05/07/2009, -2/+61It's almost June, you should have known better.
- AZRoboto, on 05/08/2009, -2/+41You're on Digg and you didn't know a new one is right around the corner?
- jmbrysk, on 05/08/2009, -2/+36Buried as inaccurate. An analyst saying there's a "strong possibility" is anything but a confirmation, something that the submitter implies in his title.
- liquisoft, on 05/08/2009, -1/+29If anybody remembers, the original iPhone plan was (and is) $65 a month.
When the 3G came out, they raised that by $10 for 3G service.
Now they're going to lower it again.
Works great for me since I'm buying the next model. - slyzxx, on 05/08/2009, -4/+30$10 would be a smart move an even smarter move would be $20 less
- Enche, on 05/08/2009, -2/+26"To cut" =|= "May cut"
- e808, on 05/08/2009, -1/+24Isn't that the point of a contract?
- DahRecords, on 05/07/2009, -8/+30It is time that AT&T cuts their costs...maybe people like who aren't rich will be able to talk on a cell phone more than one month (:
- timlopez, on 05/08/2009, -2/+22You forgot to put "Rumor" in your title
- jonthebishop, on 05/08/2009, -1/+18If Apple starts letting other carriers sell the iPhone AT&T is going to have to lower their prices. Even AT&T knows they charge too much.
- mfontain, on 05/08/2009, -3/+19I assume you signed a contract, which makes me suspect that YOUR service cost won't go down.... I might be wrong, but I never bet on the generosity and goodwill of companies.
- inactive, on 05/08/2009, -2/+16Title: AT&T TO cut...
Description: AT&T MAY cau...
Title does not match the description.
It must be nice knowing that you don't have to be a good digger as long as you have enough circle jerking friends. You can consitenly suck as much as Burento and yet still get to the front page over and over again. - ShogunWarPig, on 05/08/2009, -3/+16So now the plan will only cost you an arm or a leg?
- inactive, on 05/08/2009, -1/+13=|= != !=
- Axtell2k5, on 05/08/2009, -1/+11Dug down for rumor and hearsay. There's nothing at all to substantiate this. Why is this getting any pub at all?
- coasterswim, on 05/08/2009, -2/+12Especially AT&T
- RichCrane, on 05/08/2009, -2/+12Let's hope they lower the rate. Unfortunately their service is still pretty bad. IMHO, the iPhone saved AT&T!
- firesights, on 05/08/2009, -0/+9Or $20.75!
- zerodepth, on 05/08/2009, -0/+9In for 3.
- tyrulz, on 05/08/2009, -0/+8or $20.50
- elmontsmilitia, on 05/08/2009, -0/+8i think because now it doesnt effect anyone who is on a family plan with an iphone
- meltingcube, on 05/07/2009, -8/+16I finally gave in and bought an iPhone a month ago and now they are coming out with a new one, sigh. At least the service costs will go down.
- GregIsLegend, on 05/08/2009, -2/+10Wait, so those of us with contracts already, no change?
- dylio, on 05/08/2009, -0/+72,063.06 Yen less.
- Rivetgeek, on 05/08/2009, -1/+8Theres an app for that
- sliderocity, on 05/08/2009, -1/+7"AT&T to cut" is not the same as "AT&T may cut". Get a clue.
- stillmilking, on 05/08/2009, -0/+6Yes you should have
- anthropodeus, on 05/08/2009, -0/+6or if they paid ME each month
- migitalwarfare, on 05/08/2009, -0/+5$15 sure, but then you have to put up with Sprint.
- sootzoo, on 05/08/2009, -0/+5Consider the source. This is Jim Cramer's site. The same Cramer who said it was the "easiest thing in the world" to manipulate Apple's stock price. Any questions?
- Rivetgeek, on 05/08/2009, -1/+5Hows that pager workin out for you?
- migitalwarfare, on 05/08/2009, -1/+5Except when the 3G came out a year after the 2G. They allowed anyone with an existing iphone plan to upgrade to the 3G model for the subsidized price. They really didn't have a leg to stand on though, since they didn't subsidize the original 2G in the first place.
- super_spyder, on 05/08/2009, -0/+4The old plan also includes 200 text messages, or $5 off any other texting plan, so it is actually $15 less for service on the old phone.
- gzdawgs, on 05/08/2009, -0/+3iPhone via T-Mobile is half the monthly rate of iPhone via AT&T. T-Mobile is even supporting the iPhone now (see the consumerist.com article today). AT&T needs to cut MORE than $10 to stay in the game....
(I know the specific 3g doesn't comply with T-Mobile's network, but it's not worth an extra $70/month when I'm in a wireless area 90% of the time.) - anthropodeus, on 05/08/2009, -3/+6owned
- chrisappleton, on 05/08/2009, -0/+3Please be true.
- Laminarcissus, on 05/08/2009, -1/+4NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN.
- indiancompanion, on 05/08/2009, -0/+330 bucks, seriously?...i feel so much better about my 15 dollar data plan from sprint now
- Elranzer, on 05/08/2009, -0/+2If there's one thing that AT&T fears, it's competition. Is anyone here old to enough to remember the ***** they pulled in the 1980s that got them split up?
If you forget history, you're doomed to repeat it. - Elranzer, on 05/08/2009, -3/+5A smart move would be Verizon. You know, an actually GOOD cellphone service?
- PacketScan, on 05/08/2009, -0/+2It's from thestreet.com Mr Apple Manipulator him self.. Cramer.
- web2pointYo, on 05/08/2009, -0/+2L.Hutz: "...But I ask you, what is a contract? Webster's defines it as "an agreement under the law which is unbreakable.
Which is unbreakable!
Excuse me, I must use the restroom." - inactive, on 05/08/2009, -0/+2Here's an idea. Buy an iPhone from eBay, jailbreak it, and pay the same price as a regular cell phone. That way you don't have to sign up for a data plan and can use free wifi instead. It works for me. Also, no contract to sign.
- roguepirate, on 05/08/2009, -0/+2The service plan will decrease by $10, but im sure with ATT speeding up their 3G network the data plan will increase by atleast $10
- mochaman, on 05/08/2009, -0/+2For all the free-market loving people out there, we actually live under tyranny of the telecom industry. You name it ATT, Verizon etc., none of these carriers give us the freedom to choose the telephone that we want or the service that we want. I'm fed up with ATT, but I hate Verizon, you so all i'm left with is to settle for a small carrier that has little coverage where I live. Is a no win situation.
- Rivetgeek, on 05/08/2009, -1/+3Some of us have jobs kiddo. I need to get my email and server alarms anywhere, anytime. Not to mention GPS directions and checking movie times, etc...
Pretty much your statement only applies to people that never leave their room...or in your case, moms basement. - askantik, on 05/08/2009, -1/+3In other news, some kid half-way across the world had his nuts drop today.
- JasonCox, on 05/08/2009, -0/+2I'm staying with my more expensive plan until AT&T subsidizes my new iPhone, once I have that, then lower priced plan here I come!
(in reviewing my contract, if I change to a lower level service plan, I lose my right to have AT&T subsidize my new iPhone) - mohrt, on 05/08/2009, -0/+2Hmm, my plan is $59. I must have got in early before they bumped it up $10.
- breed1, on 05/08/2009, -0/+2Trying to get the last lot of new sign ups before the new iPhone is released
