- maquiavelo, on 05/12/2008, -1/+138Working with other companies is really messing with Apple's "We don't talk about future products" thing.
- dunderballer, on 05/12/2008, -6/+111Apple has to be the only company that has such an attentive following that the rumor of a new product color is a news story.
- djscsi, on 05/12/2008, -9/+108This is offtopic, but is anyone else incredibly annoyed by the stupid web2.0 catchphrase "after the jump" in every ***** blog article everywhere - even when there is no "jump" ? Or how about when there is just one sentence and then the "jump," what the *****. More bitching after the jump!

can we just stop this already? what the *****. - EvilAnimator, on 05/12/2008, -1/+66Suck it, white!
- ma11man, on 05/12/2008, -2/+69Why is the Black version always better? Wheres the "cracker" version??
- linharesalex, on 05/12/2008, -3/+69Tomorrow is Tuesday
- cablegunner, on 05/12/2008, -11/+72I'm getting excited.
- SomeRealGuy, on 05/12/2008, -0/+46There are just too many of these leaks to be mistakes.
- kovac9478, on 05/12/2008, -3/+48this one is apparently faster and can jump higher..... did i mention george bush hates it?
- diulei, on 05/12/2008, -0/+43Not surprising, but let's be honest, these "leaks" only generate more hype and free marketing.
- amoro99, on 05/12/2008, -0/+44They say once you've purchased the iPhone black, you will be reluctant to return to using any other iPhone.
- djscsi, on 05/12/2008, -0/+24I moved onto Web2.5 beta-RC1 like 3 months ago, it's way better you should try it out.
- Jacs02056, on 05/12/2008, -0/+23Not to ruin the hype parade, but that option has been on the AT&T website since I bought my phone. (August, 2007)
- hsda, on 05/12/2008, -3/+27Combine this with the May release rumor and it may be here soon

... if you cried about it. - cyberwiz01, on 05/12/2008, -0/+21That phrase really irritates me!
- enicholas, on 05/12/2008, -0/+21Apple product launches are traditionally made on Tuesdays.
- exomni, on 05/12/2008, -4/+26Actually George Bush just doesn't care about Black iPhones.
- linharesalex, on 05/12/2008, -0/+19You're right on spot. It's such pathetic attempt to sound like mainstream media...
- Warblade, on 05/12/2008, -6/+24You're probably trying to be funny, but I'm responding in the event that you're just another "I'm sick of Apple stories!" guy. It's not so much the color that is the story here, its the fact that this gives credence to the number of rumors surrounding the next iPhone, which will presumably have 3G. People want their 3G iPhone and they want it yesterday.
- cyberwiz01, on 05/12/2008, -0/+17It's been a year, bro. That's about typical for Apples upgrade cycle.
- piratearggghhh, on 05/12/2008, -0/+16Shouldn't you guys start lining up already?
- synthpop, on 05/12/2008, -3/+19when answering a black iPhone you have to say "yo where you at, dawg?"
- chanop, on 05/12/2008, -0/+15I'm sure all the designers huddled over your emails to make sure they get it right
- farblong, on 05/12/2008, -0/+14I hope the next gen has a plastic back. The little black plastic antenna cover on the current version is not sufficient for proper signal passing. One thing the aluminum case does really well is ground the phone against your body such that touching the phone back results in about 10-15db of signal loss. In markets that have spotty coverage this is the difference between having a signal and not.
Most phone cases are plastic for reasons of cost, transmissive properties and non-conductivity. Apple, by making their product more fashionable actually reduced its abilities.
If you want to test, dial up the diagnostic mode and put the phone in the dock without the cord attached. Then, take it out and hold it. Look at the tower signal strength in both cases. - zapperdude60, on 05/12/2008, -3/+17it sure is
- rebotfc, on 05/12/2008, -0/+13don't get my hopes up
- gllopc, on 05/12/2008, -0/+13Black Tuesday?
- HonoredMule, on 05/12/2008, -1/+13Finally a digger who tells the truth!
- trollick, on 05/12/2008, -0/+12The amount of technological innovation that made black color possible is just mind boggling.
The singularity is near! - cugar, on 05/12/2008, -5/+18..after the jump...
- gwyrth, on 05/12/2008, -1/+12Upvoted?
- r00ts, on 05/12/2008, -0/+11Mind pointing me to some of these? All the ATT stores in my area are "mysteriously" sold out of the current generation of iPhones. Same thing for the Apple Store from what I've been hearing.
- okaroleo, on 05/12/2008, -0/+10That really says something. Most companies out there would kill to have this kind of free coverage.
- Nougat, on 05/12/2008, -0/+9Swiffer WetJet BLACK
- OSJunky, on 05/12/2008, -6/+17this is definitely it. AT&T drops the ball...wonder if El Jobso is in a tirade right about now.
http://blogs.computerworld.com/iphone_black - sb07, on 05/12/2008, -0/+9better hsdpa, gps, wifi, and bluetooth reception through plastic
- phpfreak, on 05/12/2008, -0/+11I hope it's going to be more than just a 3G radio and a new color. Yes, 3G is nice, but if it has the same exterior hardware (albeit a new color), it's not tempting enough for most people (who use wifi most of the time and don't mind EDGE) with first generation iPhones to go out and buy the newer model. If they make 16GB standard and add GPS and that rumored webcam, then that's something to splurge on. Don't get me wrong, I'm a proud fanboy and own the current iPhone; I just want more features to justify buying another one.
- seastobble, on 05/12/2008, -0/+11if you check though, this isn't just posted on only the iPhone. it applies to other phones right now that also don't come in black (such as some of the other smart phones). it isn't just restricted to the iPhone, it could be a full on mess-up with the site.
- alfonsomr, on 05/12/2008, -1/+11Great "Oops!"!
- norcalscan, on 05/12/2008, -5/+14Bummer - try moving out of the basement into the backyard. It might get a little better.
- okaroleo, on 05/12/2008, -0/+9I approve your message.
- phpfreak, on 05/12/2008, -0/+8I'm so tired of people complaining when Apple releases new products; other companies release new products at a much more rapid rate, but nobody complains about them. An entire year is not a short product lifecycle, it's quite long. Something "new and improved" is always going to be released by every company out there, we can't sit and dwell on the fact that what we have is now the previous generation of a product. That doesn't mean there's something wrong with it, it means that innovation has caused a new product to roll off the assembly line.
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -1/+11Why, because the iPhone isn't black already? :S
- bobbyi, on 05/12/2008, -1/+9There's no way you can know that without knowing who his friend is.
- drlha, on 05/12/2008, -2/+10Its not just you, there are plenty of anti-Apple fanboys on Digg to digg you up I'm sure, who will just love the fact that you think that "Apple is not a decent company" (I don't know why the ***** that is, but I guess the rabid Apple hatred of some people makes that sentence mean something). "Fairly polished" as well is damning with faint praised, I beg you please, find a piece of hardware/software out in its first iteration that is as polished as the 1st Gen iPhone was at release.
- MacParrot, on 05/12/2008, -3/+10"Maybe it's just me"
Yeah...pretty much - Burn, on 05/12/2008, -0/+7Nope, Tomorrow is definitely Wednesday.
- inactive, on 05/12/2008, -18/+26couldn't they have used "african-iPhone" instead?
- Mier, on 05/12/2008, -0/+6Yo homie don't be hatin'
