- Wildren, on 10/24/2007, -4/+16...when did digg become a piracy site? I guess I missed the memo...
I have a feeling I'm going to get dugged down, though. - willgonz, on 10/23/2007, -1/+12It's cheaper than windows server. Just buy the dang thing.
- Racerx52, on 10/24/2007, -0/+10 GET, AWAY, FROM, DIGG.
- mingistech, on 10/23/2007, -0/+10you don't know how to do a simple search?
- natedouglas, on 10/25/2007, -2/+11Up on Demonoid.

I'm not going to download it, though, just saving people the effort of typing. - colincornaby, on 10/24/2007, -0/+8The x86 version is included on the DVD. I'm assuming you mean the I'm-to-cheap-to-buy-a-Mac version.
- nextlevel233, on 10/23/2007, -1/+9It is the final version. The hell, it wouldn't be posted on TL.
- pwarbo, on 10/23/2007, -2/+9Just because someone say's it real in a comment on a tracker doesn't necessarily mean it's really real.
- enicholas, on 10/23/2007, -1/+8I'd like to point out that downloading the thing doesn't necessarily == piracy. I've got a paid developer account and therefore can download Leopard for free. I'm running 9a559 right now. But downloading the gold version via the torrent lets me get it sooner, because it's not seeded for developers yet.
I'm sure a meaningful percentage of the people excitedly downloading it have already paid for it and are simply excited to be getting it a couple of days sooner. Of course, I'm also sure that a bunch of them are thieving bastards. - bagelpirate, on 10/31/2007, -1/+7caps lock is cruise control for cool
- cassarani, on 10/25/2007, -1/+7On the one hand, it's great – it shows you what kind of power BitTorrent users may have. On the other hand, I hate it. We're not talking about crappy Microsoft products, we're dealing with a totally different league now.
Leopard is so good a product that I think most people should feel compelled to purchase it legally and be proud of it! I have nothing against those who want to try it out before they go out and spend $129 / €129 / £79 (in fact that's what P2P ought to be all about), but they should also buy it if they think it's worth it.
And it's not a matter of rules and laws, it's a matter of ethics and human decency. Call me a fanboy, but I see no ideological reasons whatsoever not to purchase it and have both a clean conscience and a great OS! - Conquerist, on 10/23/2007, -1/+7Complete nfo for those interested

Concerning "genuine"/copy protection:
"There is no serial number. There are no anti-piracy measures. There is no such thing as a 'genuine' copy of OSX. It doesn't need to be validated and will function exactly the same as if you had purchased a retail copy. Unless of course they have implemented these features since the last developer release, which is extremely unlikely." According to a comment on TL. - ChromaVita, on 10/24/2007, -2/+8And yet i'd still never go back to the Dell... Says something doesn't it...
- radio21, on 10/23/2007, -2/+7It's real
http://bayimg.com/eAHdaAAbL - MacFrog, on 10/25/2007, -1/+6It's real and it's been leaked.
- bagelpirate, on 10/24/2007, -0/+4I had a $1000 laptop, then I upgraded to a $2000 MacBook Pro that was similar in specs to my old one. Its worth every extra penny.
- Conquerist, on 10/23/2007, -0/+4Yes, but if a high profile scene release has been out for 3 hours+ and has not been nuked yet, the chances that it's real and works are very high.
- coltraning, on 10/25/2007, -3/+7I may get dugg down for this, but why don't you just go out and buy it? It's only $129. We don't want Apple to feel it has to implement DRM features into Mac OS X like some other companies out there, do we? I like bit-torrent as much as the next guy, but I'm just sayin... Besides, it is good software, so reward the developers!
- kingkilr, on 10/23/2007, -0/+3Well the original post was 4 hours before yours, I think that works out properly.
- chawkie, on 10/23/2007, -2/+5I'm sorry, I don't speak gibberish...
- nextlevel233, on 10/23/2007, -0/+3why isn't it on the frontpage ? it dissapeared
- mentor972, on 10/27/2007, -4/+7Neither would I. On the Dell, don't forget to add virus software, spyware software, adware software, a decent photo editing software, movie editing software, dvd player that doesn't suck, audio player that can at least subscribe to a podacst, audio editing and multi-track software, DVD authoring tools, a dual-layer burner, a built in web-cam, 802.11n, Firewire 800 and an OS that doesn't suck and lock you out if you decide to update your ram. Oh yeah, and the wireless card isn't built in? Anything else? Oh yeah.... Make sure it won't slow the ***** down after using it for 6 months and subtract 0.8 pounds from it as well...... FACE!!!
- pintomp3, on 10/23/2007, -0/+3ugh, some ppl want to use a mac. some ppl want to use a pc. buy what you want and stop caring what others buy.
- mingistech, on 10/23/2007, -3/+5It's on the newgroups if you know the RIGHT room to look in. :)
- chicagobiker, on 10/23/2007, -0/+2what the hell is a newsgroup "room"?? ;-)
- viruz, on 10/25/2007, -0/+2I'm one of the honest pre-paid folks who just wants a head start :)
I'm not stealing anything and I'll have my physical media in a few days. - zeeky, on 10/23/2007, -1/+3so that's what shout is for!! haha... here i was thinking it was pointless :-P
- chicagobiker, on 10/23/2007, -0/+2There are also a whole bunch of 3rd party indie developers who Apple didn't let in on the final GM. They are very much itching to get their hands on this to make sure their customers are happy Friday night.
- thespacepope, on 10/24/2007, -0/+2yeah... and copyright violation isn't theft.
- kevinmotel, on 10/23/2007, -0/+2invest in an external burner? they are cheaper than the retail price of 10.5
http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCa ... - GreatOne08, on 10/24/2007, -0/+2You mean the east coast have no love for Dr. Dre and Snoop Dog?
- Flimnit, on 10/23/2007, -0/+2Looks like Demonoid has already received a Cease and Desist. They are blocking Canadian IP's to above link. Thank god for newsgroups.
- Angostura, on 10/24/2007, -1/+3Probably an amusingly modified leak from Cupertino. It bricks your Mac on Oct 27
- thespacepope, on 10/23/2007, -0/+1At least this way the indie developers can test (and fix) their code on this build before it's released.
- TVarmy, on 10/23/2007, -0/+1I already ordered it. But I'm still tempted, as my anticipation is that great. If I knew Apple couldn't trace it and that the install would be 100% the same as the one I'd get in the mail, I'd go for it this minute (That, and if my crappy college network allowed bit torrent). Apple's already been compensated from me, I'd just be getting my copy 3 days early.
- zeeky, on 10/24/2007, -0/+1wait, what was i thinking when i said "burn"?
- keybsnbits, on 10/23/2007, -3/+4http://www.binsearch.info/?server=&b=osx-leopard10 ...
- ophello, on 10/23/2007, -1/+2ive been trying to get an invite for months. dammit.......
- natedouglas, on 10/23/2007, -0/+1Seriously? God dammit.
- natedouglas, on 10/23/2007, -1/+2Friend me and I'll shout you, or post your email.
- pyrates, on 10/25/2007, -0/+1Whine bitch complain blah blah blah. I don't care. Go away fan boy.
- nigelelliott394, on 10/23/2007, -0/+1you don't need one to download it because it's fairly recent
- wedges, on 10/23/2007, -2/+3i guess shutting down oink didn't really prove any point
- trunkster, on 10/23/2007, -1/+2Can't you guys just wait a few more days?
- bking, on 10/23/2007, -0/+1This one is not the right version.
- natedouglas, on 10/23/2007, -0/+1If Linux suits your needs, then bully for you, STFU, and GBTW.
It doesn't meet mine. That's why I stopped using it after five years and bought a Mac. - cave, on 10/24/2007, -1/+2Basically the point he's trying to make, and I kind of agree with, is that some companies charge way too much for their software. Microsoft, Adobe. They know that the absurd prices they charge cause rampant piracy, but they actually do little to prevent it because it actually helps them gain market share. Like good monopolies that they are, they care more about market dominance than anything else. It's a different story altogether with Apple.
- TheIinLive, on 10/23/2007, -1/+2yeah, I don't know how I'm going to burn this either. I don't have dual-layer discs. I'm hoping I can find a way around it, either that or i'm waiting.
- jstennis1591, on 10/25/2007, -0/+1Hrmmmm that looks like a screenshot from OiNK? Using one of the dark stylesheets perhaps?
Did you get it from there before it shut down? Guess I'm too late. - nolz, on 10/23/2007, -1/+1No need to tell everyone about newsgroups...
